  1. 'This is a massive, historic game' It's only fitting that Kansas City stands in the way of Buffalo's first AFC Championship appearance since 2021 – when the two teams met in Arrowhead Stadium with Kansas City getting the better of the Bills. Six weeks ago, the Bills traveled to Kansas City with what seemed like the season on the line. After the bye week, Buffalo was 6-6 and the 11th overall seed in the AFC – meaning they were well outside of the playoff picture with the toughest stretch of their schedule coming up. Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network compared the two star quarterbacks to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, who shared a historic rivalry as two of the greatest of all time at the position. Just like Brady got the best of Manning in their first two matchups, Mahomes has two wins over Allen between each of their postseason matchups, both of which were held in New England. Manning got Brady back in their third matchup, which was in Indianapolis. Now that Allen will finally host Mahomes in the playoffs, will he repeat the same fate? "This is a massive, historic game," Brandt said. "There are three really good games this weekend and then there is one chapter in a saga. This is a saga in a franchise that we will talk about for decades, the Bills gotta have this one. They gotta have it." Garrett Podell | CBS Sports: Josh Allen will have a career playoff game in Bills’ win Since letting James Cook cook in the Bills 31-10 win over Dallas, Josh Allen has averaged 242 passing yards, 2.75 total touchdowns and 50 rushing yards per game. With the Bills quarterback playing at an MVP-level, Podell predicts that Buffalo wins a barnburner thanks to a heroic performance from Allen. "Josh Allen is coming off the first playoff game ever with three passing touchdowns, at least 70 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown on Monday in the victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. … So what will happen when the Bills star quarterback collides with the Chiefs defense? Allen shreds Kansas City's 'D' that loves playing with its back turned to the quarterback, providing just enough production to overcome a big day from Patrick Mahomes in his first career road playoff game."
  2. if you're old like me, 12 hours will fly by. hell, this week has flown by. wait, this freaking year has gone by already.
  3. That's that's putting the cart before the horse. Let's see if they get through KC first
  4. I always liked this guys game. he could throw a good deep ball. anyone remember this game? Buffalo 37, Kansas City 14 (Jan. 5, 1992) 1991 AFC divisional playoffs Marty Schottenheimer's staff in Kansas City featured several future NFL coaches, including Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy, Bruce Arians, and Herm Edwards, but any hopes of an upset in Buffalo were squashed when Cornelius Bennett knocked out Chiefs quarterback Steve DeBerg on a vicious hit. The Bills built a 17-0 halftime lead with the help of two TD passes from Jim Kelly to Andre Reed, and Thurman Thomas added 100 rushing yards. Kansas City backup quarterback Mark Vlasic threw four interceptions. Washington beat Buffalo 37-24 in Super Bowl XXVI three weeks later. Inside Bills vs. Chiefs playoff history, from AFL championship to 2021 thriller that changed overtime Bills vs. Chiefs playoff history The winner of the previous five playoff meetings between these two teams has advanced to the Super Bowl four times. A look at the quarterbacks who started in Buffalo-Kansas City games: Jim Kelly Bills 2-0 Patrick Mahomes II Chiefs 2-0 Len Dawson Chiefs 0-1 Jack Kemp Bills 0-1 Steve DeBerg Chiefs 0-1 Joe Montana Chiefs 0-1 Josh Allen Bills 0-2
  5. can still win with a turnover or even multiple but would much rather see a game like the last one (The game marked Allen's third career playoff game with four combined passing and rushing touchdowns and zero turnovers, tying Joe Montana and Patrick Mahomes for the most in NFL history. It was just the second time since Week 4 that Allen did not turn the ball over) it is well documented that the win % goes way up when JA doesn't turn the ball over.
  6. I know and I agree that jones will be and was disruptive, I was just pointing out the rook has 6 more games of experience. hopefully it helps. they're all going to be pumped up for this one. big game.
  7. the rookie has had 6 games played under his belt since the last meeting, 64 has held his own.
