  1. Add David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar to the list.
  2. The team is all-in on the XFL. This was the master plan all along. The NFL was the bridge between the AFL and XFL. Ralph kept the team n Buffalo for one reason only and saw this coming way before the merger. Connect the dots.
  3. Saving Nimmo...wish I said that. Why do you think Reyes is back? One thing I've heard (and if true Reyes would play into it) is why are the Mets trying to re-create their 2017 team? Sign Moustakos on a late team friendly deal and I will be happier.
  4. As an out-of-towner I can't get enough of the local recollections. I just can't add much to the conversation. I do remember walking into the local sporting goods store during the SB era and being shocked to see Bills jerseys for sale. That was cool. But I have a ton of respect for Bills fans who missed out on the good times and were die-hard throughout the drought. I'm looking forward to the day when this board can debate whether the Bills Super Bowl winning team is better than the 90's team. P.S. - it's the 90's team hands down
  5. I was always amazed that Groehl went from drummer to singer/guitar.
  6. When I was growing up, probably early teens at best, me and my bud went to the store with his grandmother and it scared the bejesus out of us. We ratted her out and it took her off the road. Sucked telling my buds Mom what was what. A few years back my mother got into an accident that she is lucky to have survived. I know because it was caught on tape. One of the hardest things I ever had to do was tell her that her driving days were over. Sucked then, still makes things difficult now, but better than where it was heading, So yeah, I agree whole-heartedly.
  7. Is it douchey to quote yourself? Sabbath also went from Dio to Ian Gillen. I may be the only jack-ass to buy that one. "Born Again" if I remember right.
  8. Black Sabbath went from Ozzy to Dio and IMO it was a win-win.
  9. Hard to compare a frontman with a bass player when it comes to band continuity. Not quite the same genre (and was never a big fan) but Genesis went from Peter Gabriel to Phil Collins. Wasn't doubting you, but thanks for the link. I guess what I heard was a cover story. Believable though.
  10. Never heard that....and forgot all about Clive Burr.
  11. Unless I'm mistaken, Paul to Bruce was a choice. My understanding is that the band thought Paul's vocal range was too limited.
  12. I hear ya, but this Super Bowl matchup is a nightmare for Giants fans. If the Eagles win they lose some of their air of big brother superiority. Glad to hear your fam goes to Philly games without incident. That's the way it should be. Now this I don't get. Yankee fans hate the Red Sox, not Mets fans (at least not me). We beat them, and in spectacular fashion...and I hope the Eagles do the same to the Patriots.
  13. Love that you brought up the surrounding years. Most remember it as a 4 year run. And we always remember the core players, but there was turn-over as well. I don't have an encyclopedic memory but what I remember is losing guys on the offensive line over time contributing to Thurmans decline in production as well. I can remember Kelly imploring the line to hold their block for that extra half second in his last year.
  14. Based on the post below and talking to a few friends who are Giants fans I'm not sure that's entirely true. Small sample size for sure but:
  15. Nathan Who?
  16. Growing up and a Mets fan on Long Island and watching away games on TV, one thing I remember well was waiting to hear the stadium announcer when John Boccabella came to the plate. And I always dreaded facing Steve Rogers.
  17. In terms of the Eagles fans behavior, I just came across this article about the rough time Keenums family endured in Philly. The article doesn't offer up much in the way of details but I thought the following was humorous: "In response to the rude welcome they received in Philadelphia, several Vikings fans were reportedly planning to dress up as Uber drivers for the Super Bowl so they can pick up Eagles fans and leave them in the wrong place." http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/vikings-case-keenum-family-rough-time-philly-article-1.3776951
  18. I love (early) Metallica. Saw them thisclose a week before Kill Em All dropped I can't decide whether this is worse than Trubinsky or Tyrod.
  19. Just watched. Kicked donkey. Thanks.
  20. I was two months short of 8 years old, living maybe 20 miles from that venue. Little did I know that would be an all-time favorite song of mine. Cool that the Allmans had a renaissance with Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks.
  21. Yup, this isn't a court of law, the accuser should have some accountability.
  22. Love the topic and there hasn't been a solo posted yet that I don't like/love. Totally agree with Chef that it doesn't have to shred, but I love shredding too. OP mentioned drum solos. Obviously not a solo, but I heard Zep's Whole Lotta Love for the first time in a long time recently and how kick-a$$ is the opening drum fill? Iconic, Bonham was a beast. I'm not big on favorites since there's so much outstanding music, but I'll throw some love to the Zappa's. I could easily go with Muffin Man, but here are two more: Not sure if Chef is a Zappa fan but you might like Frank's Watermelon in Easter Hay: Overall I'll go with Dweezil's cover of Franks Pygmy Twylyte..solo starts around 4:15 in:
  23. Doc - nice to see a reasonable exchange between you and Weo on this. But I think your point about 2 1/2 weeks got buried. How long does/should it take for the NFL to review the tape and ask for players involved if anything took place?
  24. No doubt. I went through Parkinsons with my grandmother many years ago. What a miserable experience. I hope it spares you. As for Sweet Caroline, I like this version:
