  1. We still need better protection on the line. Josh rarely gets to feel comfortable. He does bail too early at times, but too often he has too little time to let routes develop. Josh is unable to stand in a pocket and make throws at all levels of the field and to both sides. If that is not possible, he will not have "the game." If we are going to beat a good team, he is going to have to be able to throw some receivers open. The ball that Darby deflected to Brown was a ball that Josh has to throw better. Up to this point, he's gotten better at not horribly missing open receivers, but I do not see him make impressive throws in tighter coverage. It's not too late, but there not many positively encouraging moments.
  2. To be honest, I'm guessing here. It's obvious we want to throw, but we have mediocre success with the passing game, therefore I don't think we have an identity. We don't complete shots downfield, we don't control the slot. We just make occasional completions throughout the game without any clear attempt to have real offensive control. I really feel like we call a play, watch with curiosity to see what exactly Josh is going to do, then call something else. In no game plan that I can think of do we seem to attack an opponent's weakness. This offense looks very similar from game to game without much adjustment to who we're playing against. I also hear no talk from players about how confident, or impressed they are with the game plans. I know this team build is about grooming Josh, but what are we grooming him to be exactly? I cannot figure it out.
  3. Who exactly would be throwing to Kupp for 220? Not this offense.
  4. I think bringing in someone new to make an impact is unrealistic. If we could upgrade the roster for the long haul, then I'm down, but not for a rental. How many rentals can you think of that made a significant difference?
  5. This season is a 5-2 record and we control our destiny for a wild card. With games against Wash, Pitts, NYJ, Miami, Cleveland & Denver, 11-5 is very realistic. We were a 6-10 projection, so I think losing your mind over a bad game against a good team is way over the top.
  6. This and the false starts would be an area of coaching that does concern me. Impresses as either careless, or undisciplined.
  7. Today we saw a team that NEEDED a win outplay a team that WANTED a win. Philly had more to play for and it showed. I think we could have gotten them to turn on each other with a fast start, but we just cannot attack the whole field, so we have to work too hard to create points.
  8. Totally agree. Outcome appears clear, so let the over-reacting begin!
  9. If fairness, Josh did tuck the ball on the last fumble. His elbow was incidentally pushed forward before the strip. I was afraid he was more careless.
  10. Doubtful. We're 6-2 at the midpoint of the season and we just lost to a team with enough talent that a Super Bowl birth is not out of the question. Our offense's inability to take advantage of their linebackers & secondary is disappointing. At this stage, Josh can make occasional plays, but does not show an ability to command an offense and pick apart a defense. He does not seem able to make a defense pay for mistakes. The process is not over. It's a process in progress still.
  11. Evidence please? Of the ref comment, not the Bills being good.
  12. I love it when I'm right! ?????
  13. He's not going to be an elite back, but he gives us an option that can run outside the guards and he has excellent vision. Earlier, Howard had a run that he stayed inside and bumped into his own lineman before falling down when there was obviously space outside. At the time I wondered how far Singletary would have taken that as he definitely would have bounced it outside.
  14. Who hit the arbitrary officiating button?
  15. Uh, no. Giving up six to make up for one is moronic.
  16. I'm sorry, but if a visiting player jumps into the stands where I sit, I'm "celebrating" with him by beating his helmet until his ears ring. If he's willing to take that chance, I'm happy to help my team.
  17. All good. Just need a place to share.
  18. I think Josh continues to show improvement. I am liking him stay in the pocket, or moving forward to gain yards instead of trying to outrun everything to the right. On the other hand, our running game is abysmal. Either Singletary is not correct, or Dabol has not figured out how to use him properly.
  19. Back atcha. Many of these comments are what we'd say if we were in the stands with out buddies. Commenting is therapeutic. Not to mention we all have that friend that says dumb things, so you just roll with it.
  20. If Allen were a running back who fumbles that much, he'd be benched (see Yeldon). Stop with the designed runs. He's not a RB. His yardage comes off of broken protection, not RB plays. Enough already.
  21. I think he'll get some money. Maybe not the full 40mil. He may have screwed the pooch in Oakland and it may be ruled he signed disingenuously. The haste and lack of due diligence the Patriots showed may be a problem for them. They may have to pay up. It will be interesting. It could affect contract language moving forward with regard to guaranteed money.
  22. So let's ease the burden. Wallace for Kupp? That would be an interesting deal.
  23. Seeing the Bengals/Jags result, I also think Miami as the worst team in football is debatable.
  24. I don't think we see conservative the same way. Not enough ground & pound IMO. I would have enjoyed them establishing the run, and developing play action. I thought there was WAY too much empty backfield.
  25. I'd like it to sound like the noise in Josh's head when he sees the rush coming, but I suspect it's more noisy in there like Axl Rose at the beginning of Welcome to the Jungle.
