  1. The Wife has made noises about us exploring the possibilities of moving to the Buffalo area, and has gone so far as checking real estate prices and checking the want ads. I say its a pipe dream really, but I was wondering what the job markets are really like. We make decent money here in Phoenix for Costco, and I dont really want to live in a double-wide if I can help it. The R.E. taxes are INCREDIBLE in WNY. Why are they so high? We pay $1600 a year in phx for a 4 br, 2 ba, 2000 sq ft house. In WNY the taxes range from 3500 to 7000. That is OURAGEOUS. It sucks to be you guys... Oh well. If you guys have any advice, or any links to relocation sites. I would appreciate it. I would love to move back if it all works out. Season tickets to Bills and Sabres!!!!
  2. Bowling Ball shots, and food from the back of a Pinto? What the Hell, I am game... See you in Oct! Go Bills!
  3. i have a hunch this guy might be the starter after a few preseason games. If Gandy cant get it done, in comes McFarland to get a shot. You never know anymore.
  4. I couldn't have said it better.
  5. Actually, there is a Ted's hot dogs here in Phoenix. They fly in White and Red hots straight from Buffalo. But, we were actually going to Ted's in Buffalo anyhow. you know, gotta have the original. How close is it to the homewood suites in Amherst?
  6. I want to try Duff's Wings, and original Anchor Bar wings as well. That way I can decide for myself which are better. I may want to go to Rachacha and get a Garbage plate as well. I am a glutton for punishment. The central location, as well as freeway access were some of the reasons wy wife booked this place. She had no idea it was new though. That is just a bonus.
  7. All of this sounds great to me. Thanks guys for the info. The family and I are very excited to be coming back to buffalo for a visit. My kids haven't been anywhere except San Diego and LA (we live in Phoenix).
  8. It was only 106* today in Phx. I just got back from shooting an 82 Falcon Golf Club. It was beautiful out, except for the 3 brush fires surrounding the city.
  9. Thanks Jack. A fireplace would be nice. We paid 81 a night. Not too bad. I think all the Suite style hotels are basically the same. The best way to go if an extended stay.
  10. My wife just booked us into the homewood suites Amherst for 9 days. Is it a nice place? What is Amherst like? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Zona
  11. I survived 121* out here in like 1988. I was golfing the day before at 118. Believe it or not, you do get used to it...
  12. YUCK! Strawberry Rhubarb pie is most definetly NOT on my list of yummy pies. My family ate it all the time growing up, and it was all I could do to not yack all over the table. You can have my slice next time Rock....
  13. That's exactly what I am talking about. We will be in town for about a week. My wife and kids have never been back east. So we are going to the Falls and just sightseeing in general. Should be alot of fun. Throw in some beer and Wings and Bills football. It just doen't get any better....
  14. I got my Miami tix in the mail yesterday (thanks Jay!). So I will travel cross country to see our Bills crush the Fish. See you all in Oct.....
  15. My boy is 13 and ways 197 lbs. He is also 5'10''. Yes he is fat, but he also is just BIG. BTW- he has a friend who has just turned 14 and is 6'4" and 320 lbs...
  16. I haven't seen anything on this posted here, so I wanted to let you know. Terrell Suggs is on trial starting today, for his involvement in a bar fight. He is facing 5 years in prison if convicted. try to link story here.... http://www.azcentral.com/sports/asu/articl...nline15-ON.html
  17. Hey Gant, I like your avatar. The 300's are sweet! Dark Blue with some 20's, and the glass so dark no one knows your name...
  18. I'll see it. You gotta love Zombie movies. Although, I did not like 28 days later. Shaun of the Dead was good, as was the remake of Dawn. I still think the original Night of the Living dead was the best. That movie just creeps me out big time...
  19. hehe. Too funny. Even the employees dont know what's going on. Sorry about the mis-info. We were told originally that all merchandise was "for future delivery" ...Oh well
  20. Actually, its like pre-paying for your funeral arrangements. When you die, the casket is pre-paid and waiting for you. Its not sitting in your garage waiting for you....
  21. Dont get me started. Diversity blows!
  22. lol I work at Costco Distribution Center here in Phx. Costco has been selling caskets for like a year now. Not sure, but they are only available online, or in Illinois area I think.
  23. I was talking to some co-workers today. Ages 24 on up to 39. NOT ONE knew what event started either WW. Some even thought the Holocaust was to blame for WW1. I am not a War Buff, but I know most of the stats and events mentioned in this thread. It truly is a shame that more people don't learn from the past to help them live there lives. Damned MTV ruined the world....
  24. Well, I am not a cop. But in Phoenix , about 3 weeks ago, a cop was killed during a "routine traffic stop". Turns out the car was a GTA and the kids just shot first. The cop was a 20 year veteran, and didnt deserve to die. I have NO PROBLEM with cops covering there ass first. Do what the cop says, dont get tazed. Sounds easy to me....
  25. OMFG --- I dont know who "nozzlenut" is, But that was friggin funny. I am not sure why, exactly, but it was. BTW- I have VERY little compassion for lawbreakers. If your going to break the law, dont fight the arrest....
