Rex Grossman fractured his left ankle early in tonights game. He is expected to miss 3-4 months according to the NFL network guys covering the game... He has started exactly 6 games over the last 2 seasons, and now this. The only other Qb's on the roster are Chad hutchinson and R- Kyle Orton. Sux to be a Bears Fan tonight....

The fact that we haven't heard anything almost 2 days after the injury has me extremely nervous. If it was a simple fracture, we would have known. Maybe the same if it was soft tissue damage. The fact that so much time has gone by makes me think that this is a serious injury, and the team dr's are trying to decide the best corse of action. Anybody have any ideas? I have a feeling this may be the end of his season. Man I hope I am wrong....

I dont think he would have scored either. There was a guy at the goal line for sure, and given the 2 hand touch, dont hit the QB type of scrimmage, they would have blown the whistle as soon as that guy got ANYWHERE near JPL....

For the record, those Announcers were the local Packers guys since the NFL just carried the feed of GB channel 11. They were NOT NFL network guys. Sharpe is on the NFL channel's show Playbook, but he was there tonight as an ex GB player and Homie...

I think I would like to see Woodbury as the #3 qb. Mathews is a decent stopgap. But a guy with upside is always nice to have. I see the Bills trying to sneak Woodbury onto the Practice Squad though.

I agree with you on JP in regards to what I saw. He has made some good progress, needs some more work, and he WILL be ready by Spet. 11th. I LOVE some of the things I saw though. He delivered the quick slant better than I have seen since Flutie. He Checks through the progression better than Bledsoe by a LONGGGGGGG Way. Give him some time, and JP will be a Damn good QB...

Hey Albany, as a gambler, I will say that I agree with you about Back-up QB play. In the preseason, I have made alot of money on Backup QB's or Coaches fresh from the College ranks. Those are the 2 things I look for....

I keep going back to the Hiring of MM as HC. We were all told about his creative offensive abilities. Innovative play calling and formations, using personnel effectively, etc. Then with Drew, he had to "dumb it down" and go with a Vanilla, dont lose the game, power run type approach. With JP this year, I think we will see the REAL Mularkey's ability to GAme plan. We saw some of it late last year, during our win streak, as you mentioned. I think he will expand on this during this season. I defintely dont think we will step back from the Offense we saw at the end of last year, just because JP is on the field. If anything, I think the success we had with that style of offense Combined with Drew's limitations and liabilities led to the release of Drew. I fully expect Rookie mistakes from JP. I dont think he will be Kelly-esque this year. But I do expect him to run a full powered, aggressive offense designed to fully utilize his abilities, as well as Mularkey's... As far as RB's go, I think Lionel Gates will make this team. He has all the tools and abilities that teams look for in todays NFL. I think the odd man out is Rashard Lee. I just dont see him making the squad. If he Does, then it will be Joe Burns who is let go (Burns ST play gives him a decided edge, as well as his ability to play FB). Williams will be Number 2. then Gates.

All my thoughts and Prayers go out to the Extended Kelly Family. Hunter was a true Warrior who inspired all who met him, and some who never did. Jim and Jill, my deepest condolences for the lost of your beloved Son. No parent should EVER have to bury a child. RIP Hunter James. I am sure you are moving into a better place. God Bless
