It's my opinion that we have the right personnel already on this team. I believe that the reason we suck against the run is the overall philosophy of the coaching staff. When the Bills call a defense thats main purpose is designed to stop the run, we do fine. All year long we have done well against the run in that circumstance. The problem we have is when the Bills are in a pass defense when a run play is called. How many times this year have we actually seen a D-lineman get pushed all over the place? Most of the time, I see a D-lineman trying to penetrate through a "gap" to get in the backfield. They are being told to penetrate to get after the QB, and if it's a run play, try to get the RB on the way. THIS is the reason our run defense sucks. We do fine against the run for 3 or 4 plays, then we get caught going for the sack, and giving up the 30 yard run. In the San Diego game and the Tennessee game, I saw several examples of this. If anyone has these games on Tivo, maybe you can look at this. There have been many situations where the offense has been able to get Guards downfield and onto the linebacker. I saw Spikes and fletcher being blocked by O-lineman while the D-lineman basically being trapped by FB's and TE's as they are allowed to penetrate into a backfield that doesn't have the ball. And yet, if the d-lineman look to stop the run first, they are in the proper position to do just that. Anyway, my point is just that maybe we dont need to get a huge run stuffer in the middle. Maybe we just need to rein in the horses a little bit and play run first. Go after the personal glory and the sacks AFTER you make sure its a pass play.

A few comments. Zack Miller broke all of Todd Heaps records at ASU. I think he will be an excellent player in the NFL. I would like to see us take Lineman and Wr and LB in this draft. i will leave it to Levy to figure out the best order to draft them in. Szamadjia from ND intrigues me, and he will be available in the mid teens when we will pick so dont tell me about Cal Johnson or Jarrett. They wont be anywhere near the Bills pick....

Nice. Merry Christmas!

Yeah, TH got like 15-18 yards after contact with Spikes. It was disturbing how poorly Takeo played.

Definetly-hands down- its Cats in the Cradle. If anyone here has a son, that will surely bring you down. Also, I cant believe no one has mentioned this all time downer. It brings tears to my eyes nearly every time I hear it "Taps" PLayed on a lone Bugle at Arlington National Cemetery (where I last heard it played) I dare you to not get chocked up then, Hah!

What game will you look back and say what if?
Zona replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes on Detroit, but I think the first jets game is the ONE. How do you lose when you throw for 320 and run for 130ish? We let them BOTH slip away. How nice would it be to be 9-5 right now? -

Color my coat brown as well. I love MMORPG's as well, so I will have to give this one a try if they get it going.

Agreed, No posting links like that in BOTD thread. You may kill someone! For the record, and I am ashamed to admit this, but the one where the Pork Faced Satan says "Da-Umm" is my favorite. I dont know why, but I still laugh at that one.

LT may be a pansy when it comes to snow and cold. For all we know, he will show up wearing mittens! I KNOW how good he is on a fast track, i would rather take my chances on an off field.

I only saw one fumble. Maybe I missed one somewhere. I saw 2 listed at Yahoo as well. I have come to despise almost all announcers as worthless. Aikman and Moose Johnson are two that I like. Ihate it that they are ex-cowboys, but they do a good job in the booth.

The only fumble Losman had on the day was early in the first quarter on a pitch play to Willis. Since Willis stone-handed the thing and dropped it at his feet it, the fumble goes to the QB. The rule states that the RB must gain control of the Handoff or pitch play and then fumble it for it to be his fumble. Since willis didnt catch it, it's JP's fumble.

I was just thinking that same thing. Nobody uses my PC except me, but now I might need to Password the thing. -
Ah, I wasn't sure about the talking head, but the comment bugged the crap outta me.

Not good enough. I want it to be like 10-12 degrees outside with like 30-35 MPH winds and a 10-12" of snow in the forecast. You know, a good early blizzard. Lets see if these So-Cal boys can play in OUR TOWN, in OUR WEATHER!

Since some of you may not have actually seen the game due to the Blackout, I just wanted to say something about JP's Int. I have read some comments here, and listened to the Announcers of the game yesterday, blaming JP for a horrible throw on the ball that was picked off. In all the excitement of Royal's strip and recovery is the fact that Penington stepped in front of JP as he was delivering the ball. It almost looked like he was getting hit by a defender, thats how hard he hit JP. He totally couldn't step into the throw and it was 20 yards short because of it. Penington wasn't engaged with a rusher at the time, he was just trying to move to his left and back to help a guy coming from the Blindside. It was just one of those things. I dont think JP made many mistakes yesterday at all. The friggin announcer (Soloman Wilcots I believe) said that JP had two killer mistakes already in the game, a pick and a fumble. Well excuse me if Willis cant catch a pitch out, and our RT bumps our QB in mid-throw while trying to help out in protection. Go Bills!!! Maybe we are finally "learning how to win"?

I am on of them. Thanks Cablelady

The family and I just took a DC vacation in June, and we missed the USMC museum. I am a huge fan of the Marines, and the Iwo Jima memorial has always been my favorite. I would have loved to see the museum. First in, last out. Since I live in Phoenix, I dont know when I will another chance...
