I guess I am one of those tight wads, the baseline comparison for me are the above average RB who make about 5 million a year--Ray Davis is an example, making $1.2 million a year. Ray Davis isn't as good as James Cook, but he's still pretty damn good. So I'm looking at great RB making 14 or getting a pretty good RB making less than 5. When you only have $95K in open cap (https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/overview) you have to give some serious thought to being a value shopper.
