"Experts" Picks week 5 versus the Rams
ScrewyLouie replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about the Bills having a better offense. The Rams have Gurly at running back. He's a beast that teams can't seem to stop. Buffalo just does not match up well with this team. A great back and a tough defense is a bad match for the Bills. -
Jim Schwartz defenses doing Jim Schwartz things
ScrewyLouie replied to dezertbill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more. I would have kept Schwartz and brought in an offensive head coach. Then in the past draft I would have drafted all offense instead of almost all defense. I would have drafted a wide receiver in round one and then offensive lineman in round 3, 5, 6,, and 7. Round 4 would have been the back up quarterback. The Bills "D" was fine under Schwartz we wouldn't have needed to draft all these defensive players to fit Rex's scheme. I always say, if ain't broke don't fix it. -

Oleary stinks. He will be among the first round of cuts.

I'd rather go get a wide out to pair with Watkins. I still think the Bills should talk to Cleveland and see if they can steal Josh Gordon for a 3rd round pick.

What do you mean when he was alive?? Hitler is still alive living in South America. He escaped in a German submarine and is still living. He's very old now and his health is failing. He probably won't be around much longer. A lot of people don't know this but the bodies found in Germany were NOT Hitler and Eva. Hitler had his escape well planned in advance and made it to South America. He had people who were loyal to him helping him hide all these years.

Bills Pre-draft visit tracker
ScrewyLouie replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Prescott in the 4th round would be a good pick if I couldn't get Hackenburg or Paxton in the 3rd. I don't think the Bills should be desperate to get a quarterback this year. They still have Tyrod for this year so I wouldn't reach for a QB. Why not wait to see what happens with Tyrod in 2016, you can always draft a QB next year. -
How would you feel if the Bills traded up for Paxton Lynch?
ScrewyLouie replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills traded their 1st and 2nd picks to draft Paxton i would FIRE Whaley the instant he finished making the trade. I wouldn't even wait one minute. I would hand him his coat and hat and escort him out of the building. The Bills have more holes to fill than Swiss cheese. Those premium picks are what a team needs to fill their major weaknesses. The Bills don't have the luxury of wasting those picks on a guy who is going to ride the pines behind Tyrod Taylor. Paxton can't help them win any games in 2016 while he's getting slivers in his rear end. This teams needs upgrades all over the roster if they want to be a contender. Not addressing these needs would only set the team back another year. The Bills need upgrades on the defensive line, linebacker, the offensive line, wide receiver, and defensive back field. Even with all of their picks they would be lucky if they can fill half of them in just one off season. -
Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."
ScrewyLouie replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree about the part that he is NOT a enough of a game changer to spend that kind of dough on him. But I think you are wrong about getting a #1 pick for him. No one is going to give you a first round pick when they can go into the draft and get someone as good and most likely even better than Gilmore for a lot less money. You can forget about getting a first rounder for him. You probably would be lucky to get a 3rd rounder at the most. -
Stephon Gilmore: "I Know I’m an Elite Corner."
ScrewyLouie replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gilmore is NOT an elite corner. He's not even above average. He's an average DB at best. I would not give him a big contract. I'd let him walk before I would over pay him. Not only is he only average in ability he is also made of glass. One hit and he's on IR. Darby was a rookie and out played Gilmore by a mile. Now Darby I would say will be an elite corner if he stays healthy and doesn't have a sophomore slump. Before I would over pay Gilmore I would take that money and sign a free agent corner. Most likely there will be one of two good ones next year. -
Start EJ the rest of this season. We need to move up in the draft order. This team still has a lot of holes. It's not like the Bills are only a player or two away. They need early draft picks to get a couple of blue chippers . A) The Bills need a good receiver who can beat single coverage when they double Watkins. (You need TWO good receivers if you want to be successful on 3rd and 10) B) They need a good offensive lineman preferably TWO! (Henderson is too fat and slow) C) They need a linebacker who can, 1) tackle 2) play half decent pass coverage (Preston Brown can't do either, he sucks). D) They need another corner for depth. (cut Leo McLovin and get someone taller and more physical than Roby) (They have to be able to find someone taller than 5 foot 2 who can cover.) . That's not even mentioning they need a QUARTERBACK ! Tyrod is good back up but does he really look like a starter that can take a team to the promise land? Bills need to lose the rest of their games and pick early. Maybe they can fill a couple of holes this year and then dump all their games next year so they can draft a franchise quarterback. They probably need a top 4 pick to get a good franchise QB.

When I read the headline question I really thought you were going to say, "when they step onto the field"

Tyrod Taylor and the Heroic Run to 7-9
ScrewyLouie replied to UBBullsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WOW, when you put it that way it really hits home how long it's been since the Bills made the playoffs. Twin towers was ages ago. Here's another one that gives you an idea how long it's been. If a kid was born 1996 he wouldn't really understand football for the first 4 years of his life, so that would take us to the year 2000. From 2000 until end of this season it will be 16 years they haven't made the playoffs!!!!! So that kid would now be 20 years old and in his second year of college without ever seeing his team play in the post season. Can you believe that ? Can you believe a team could be that bad for that long? It's mind boggling. The kid wouldn't be a kid anymore. He would be a man and drinking age before his team even had a chance to make the playoffs. And that's just a chance, not saying it wouldn't be a lot longer before they make it. All I can say is WOW! WOW! Unbelievable. -

John, I bet you have been saying you have high hopes for the next year for the past 20 years! LOL Man, that's a long, long, time. Nothing has changed and it will be the same for a minimum of another 10 years. More likely it will be the same for another 20 years. This franchise is a perennial loser and that's not going to change in your lifetime. This is worst organization in the NFL except for maybe Cleveland. Cleveland and Buffalo would be better off if they sunk into Lake Erie or moved to another city. . -

Andrew you have a better chance of winning a lottery for 150 million dollars than the Bills do to make the playoffs. You like those odds because they are realistic. -
I'll second that dtgolder

I understand what you're saying jhemmer. The Bills should stay consistent for the sake of being consistent. That's what you want ,, consistency, right? The Bills have been consistently losing for this entire century so they should stay consistent and keep the losing tradition going. The Bills have missed the post season for 16 seasons in a row. If they can show a little consistency, there's no reason why they can't get it to 20 years in a row. Maybe even more than 20 years. That would he a tough record for any team to break and the Bills could proudly hold on to that record for a very, very, very, LONG TIME! Let's go Bills! let's play consistently bad. Well the Bills ARE a losing organization so let's make the move and fire Rex! Even you said that's what losing organizations do, so let's fire the guy. Yeah you keep firing the coaches until you get the right one! That's the guy who gets it right and wins. If a guy can't come in and win we don't need him. Any clown can come in and lose games.
