  1. A lot more than we've spent. Close to $25m
  2. Can't cut Clay - too much of a CAP HIT if they do so. Cook and Clay could be a nice combination. Alleviates the desperate need for a stud 2nd WR to a certain extent
  3. with $29m in cap space, I would say we could afford him of he was our target. But don't let pure numbers get in the way of analysis
  4. I would but I'm not the GM
  5. depth. Might mean Wood gets cut??
  6. Is free agency over? Oh, no it just started. If they were tanking, they would have cut Kyle and Shady, don't you think? Probably cut Tyrod too and signed someone like Hoyer.
  7. Why is free agency over with? Wait, it's just starting in 30 minutes
  8. both will be out of our price range - though one can dream
  9. would think it would have to be a WR. Maybe a LB, maybe a safety. I don't expect any big names/big splashes though. I would: Sign Reif for RT Sign Byrd at safety resign Alexander Sign Jared Cook at TE Sign a medium range CB or two Sign a medium range LB Draft Davis at 1-10 Draft Mahomes (if there in rd 2, doubtful), or otherwise BPA on defense
  10. Yep - I would draft him but I'm not the GM. When does he project to go in the draft?
  11. Davis should be the pick, he's the best wr in the draft. If we can get him a little lower, then by all means try to trade back a couple of spots
  12. Now we know why they didn't want Christie to help carpenter
  13. Could mean Wood might be a cap casualty. He was replaced nicely at center last year when he got hurt......
  14. Comp picks are based an signing salary levels. Meaning Gilmore signing for 14 per has a much bigger affect them all the 1m signings
  15. You're not paying him $4-$5m to be a backup
  16. then don't watch
  17. Best case scenario, though maybe not realistic: Cle trades 1-12 to buf for tyrod and buffalos 2nd Bill's draft Davis at 1-10 and mahones at 1-12 Bill's sign hoyer as a stopgap
  18. Davis is better. Williams had trouble creating separation in college which bodes badly for the NFL
  19. I'm a middle of the road Tyrod guy. He didn't progress year one to year two like I hoped but he was also throwing to street free agents and a hurt Sammy. Draft Davis Rd 1, hope Sammy is healthy and sign a NDA slot receiver and see what happens. Then draft a QB every year in Rd 3-5 until you find your Prescott of Wilson, because drafting one in Rd one has about a 15℅ chance of becoming a franchise qb and an 85℅ chance of being tyrod Taylor or worse. This draft is deep TE, I'd take one in the 2nd Rd if mahones is gone. Double down on O - get your RT, LB, CB and safety in UFA and draft one of those positions in Rd 3.
  20. Draft Davis, hopefully Watkins gets and stays healthy then see what we get from Tyrod. Wouldn't even be opposed to a TE in RD 2 (a lot of promising TEs in this draft), but that would entail shoring up the secondary and LB's via FA. Sammy FA Slot receiver TE Rd 2 Clay Davis Lattimore/Goodwin Tyrod Shady Looks really good to me
  21. Apparently you haven't ready the articles about multiple suitors for Tyrod if he's cut. $30m is irrelevant to the acquiring team, cap hit is what matters, which would be around $15m (if there's no re-structure involved).
  22. Also, doesn't mean they can't trade him if they fall in love with a QB in the draft and he's available at #10
  23. I thought the Miami comeback could have been a turning point for Tyrod but then Rex, his prevent defense and his late timeout on the 55 yd FG too over
  24. Good move. Draft Davis at #10 and Tyrod will look a lot better. Draft Mahones if he's there at 2-10, or grab Kelly in the 4th.
