  1. I don't hate the Patriots. I admire their adversity and greatness. The cheating stuff is greatly exaggerated as well. I will be rooting for Philly though.
  2. His homerun totals are what people remember today. He was a monster though, in an era of small hitting. He had years where he hit more homeruns than many teams. He was at one point a top tier pitcher. He was the biggest legend in my opinion and even today you don't know anyone who doesn't know who he is. I saw an exhibit at Cooperstown where it had his bat and uniform. First of all, his bat looked like a log and his uniform was wool and looked like a king size blanket. The ball looked like a leather bean bag. The best part was a whole wall of letters he hand wrote to children in the hospital. Hundreds of photos with him and sick kids. One of the museum guides told me it was nothing compared to the amount they had in storage. Muhammed Ali is 1b for me. Individual based sport and he was the greatest. He was bigger than everything. Brady and Jordan are arguably the best in their sports but not in the same class. I'd even say Tiger is in that group too.
  3. My answer would be Babe Ruth. Hands down the most dominate player in his sport. Nobody was better in their respective era. No one is old enough to remember but the stats and history back it up.
  4. I don't see how we are set at RB for awhile. McCoy is slowing down and becoming more injury prone. He is still an elite talent but his work load needs to be monitored. I'd be all for a RB if the talent merited the pick. Honestly I'm all for any position if the talent is good enough.
  5. Murphy is explosive. He is not featured back material but in a one game situation he better be accounted for. I would play conservative and not throw into the teeth of that defense. The Jags will probably oblige because they love conservative as well. Keep it close and anything can happen in the 4th.
  6. You seem to be emotionally fragile to this topic. I won't push your buttons and get into a pissing match. I don't think the player movement is entirely genuine. I don't take alot of what they say serious because they aren't saying much. What little they do say, I find hypocritical because they aren't critical of many of their own peers behavior. You buy into it all, good for you.
  7. Players are constantly referring to each other as nigga, faggot, fag, homo etc. You can hear it on virtually every unedited mic'd up play. Many players have referred to themselves as slaves and called owners slave masters. They gyrate in fake sexual positions, grab themselves, and perform childish unfunny scripted routines every weekend. How anyone could take their so called stands against anything serious is beyond me. They don't offend me. I just dont care about their thoughts on the world. Google the names of some of these guys kneeling and you will find some terrible stuff. Start with Frostee Rucker and Frank Clark. They should be hiding under a rock.
  8. Nice list, thank you for sharing. Unless I missed it, Im surprised that Pull Fiction is on the list and dumb and dumber isn't. Generally speaking, most people are fans of comedy from their generation. You have about a decade or so of uninhibited enjoyment of all entertainment. Music, movies, sports, etc. Then life gets too serious and people get cranky.
  9. I'm not going to pretend that Sammy isn't a special player but you continue to act as though Matthews couldn't hold his jock. 1. Sammy hasn't produced a single more productive season,in the three years they have been in the league together. 2. Jordan Matthews and Zay Jones are both more talented than you care to admit too. They arent stiffs and they are young. 3. The trade had everything to do with managing cap space and allocating value to positions. Nothing wrong with not wanting to spend your big money on WR. You dont have to agree with it but it could work to our benefit.
  10. Plenty of guys with talent, smarts, and maturity. I'm not sure why people argue as though it is one or the other. The same tired debate rolls on. Look around the league and you will find these types of players everywhere. Our biggest problem in this drought is QB for sure but we also never seem to get a Larry Fitzgerald.
  11. I find both guys entertaining in small doses. I can't watch an hour fight promotion but both are witty when they aren't running off a script. Floyd has an amazing resume and elite level fighters have trouble winning a round against him. Connor has a much weaker MMA resume and has been exposed a few times. It was a matter of time before he took a beating in the octagon. They all do at some point. Good for him on taking his beating for $100 million instead of $200,000.
  12. I agree that his skills are impressive. Kirby and I agree, let's see him against a higher skilled opponent. I also wonder about his loss? Strange that a guy like him would lose a decision, even being a slow starter. Does anyone remember Prince Naseem Hamed? This guy reminds me of him. The Prince was everything Lamachenko is. When the Prince stepped up, he got cut to ribbons by Barrera. My gut tells me Lamachenko is mo re Hamed than Barrera.
  13. I honestly wasn't impressed with him. He is definitely athletic and skilled don't get me wrong. I didn't care for all of the nonsense in there and I didn't see how his opponent got knocked out. The punches didn't seem to be landing clean and his power seemed very lacking. Espn of course is going to make it sound like it was spectacular. I just didnt see it that way.
  14. I have two in daycare for four days a week. 1,800-2,200 a month depending on the number of weeks in the month. I had three in there for four months last year. Those were over 3,000 a month. I have really depleted my savings the last few years. I am a contractor and I am fortunate enough to make more money than my wife. She has a good job with a solid company and carries our benefits. Her employer allows her to take off for a sick child and work from home whenever she wants. Neither one of us can quit our jobs. She also uses her vacation time as daycare relief. Its a tough road
  15. Mike Vick is in the conversation. He was an incredible athlete
  16. Count me in the camp that thinks Namath is ridiculously overrated. He is quite possibly the most overrated in all of sports. He was beloved for his demeanor, looks, and playing in New York. He averaged about ten games a year and has career losing record. Combine that with his atrocious individual measurements and I can't understand how it's debatable. Of course it hasn't been debated in this thread at any point. The only arguments in his favor have been "read a book on the NFL", "millennials"!, and "you can't tell the story of the NFL without him". None of which are reasonable points that provide specifics on what he actually did to get in.
  17. Poker party at a friend's house with good food and a great beer selection.
  18. Plenty of equivalent or better running backs have been drafted in the 5th round or later since Gillislee was taken in the fifth round.
  19. He was an icon and pioneer for rock n roll. He was also a dirt bag. RIP Chuck
