  1. Bell's penalties and missed assignments hurt the Bills against the Pats almost as much as McKelvin's fumble, and the stupid cover two defensive calls on Watson's TDs. Considering that the Bills are 1 for the decade against the Pats, and they were on an 0-7 (now 0-8) skid against the AFC East, Bell was a huge liability.
  2. Keep Peters, draft Wood instead of the invisible Maybin at 11, draft Levitre in the 2nd, keep Walker. Peters, Wood, Hangartner, Butler, Walker. Toss out the moronic no-huddle offense. That would be a great improvement over the last year. As for Peters, he's protecting a QB who threw for 300 yards in his first 2 games as a starter. I'm sure he had nothing to do with that, though. Of course that would require a GM who could renegotiate two contracts at one time, and an owner who understood that you build your offensive line off the LT, and when you've only had two decent LTs over the last 30 years, maybe shelling out a couple of extra bucks for a guy with pro bowl potential, it makes sense to spend the money.
  3. I think the Singletary's mid-season hiring was good for the 49ers from a business point of view. It brought accountability to the players who responded with wins, which generated off-season excitement. Find the right guy, like the 9ers did, and the team begins to improve immediately, which generates excitement for renewals for next year. Of course, there is no liklihood of Ralph finding the right guy. He's horrible at hiring GMs and coaches.
  4. No argument here. The worst thing about being a Bills fan the last 10 years is arguing who sucks more, the slags who play on the o-line or the losers who play QB. Really, isn't the fact that the Bills have made the playoffs in ten years enough? Do we also have to endure endless Flutie vs Johnson vs Bledsoe vs Losman vs Edwards debates? All these guys suck in their own way, along with the parade of losers who have played offensive line for this team.
  5. To have his career unravel, he'd have to have a career to begin with. Edwards has shown himself to be nothing more than a QB with borderline-starter talent. He's a QB in the Todd Collins, Joe Dufek, Matt Kofler mode. Trent didn't unravel today, rather he was exposed to be a mid-level prospect who is only successful when most of the players around him are better than him, which is not the case with the current edition of the Bills.
  6. So is Langston Walker. Didn't stop these idiots from cutting him because he couldn't play in their lame-ass no-huddle. This organization is stupid followed by stupid.
  7. When you have a Pro Bowl potential player at LT, you don't eff with it, no matter how annoying the guy is. Getting rid of Peters was a huge mistake, and we're seeing the results of it today.
  8. Either you have the confidence to play QB in the NFL or you don't; there's no such thing as losing confidence. Kelly, Elway, Bradshaw all took beatings as young starters. Their confidence never left them. As for Edwards, screw confidence, he's a 3rd year QB who still can't read a 3-4 defense.
  9. This fact that this team does not compete is disgusting. They're in the same place that San Fran was last season until they made the switch to Singletary. That's what this team needs, the sooner the better.
  10. Finally a safety blitz. What a great call against a QB making his first start. Nice to see it made it into the playbook this week.
  11. So the Bills have been outscored 48-3 over the last 5 quarters.
  12. Well it goes back to my 3rd down comment. Compete on 3rd down and make the stop, and the D gets off the field. By the way, the Bills are getting ripped apart by a QB making his first start. Jauron has done nothing to confuse a young player. Same ol' bend-but-don't break. Why blitz? Why cover the WRs more tightly (like Miami is doing). No doubt the offense is a mess. But the defense DOES NOT deserve a break. They are contributers to this mess, not just victims.
  13. More excuses. Miami has injuries too. Every team has injuries. This defense sucks because it doesn't complete. If a team has a struggling offense (because the dumbass coach and GM waste draft picks on DBs instead of OL), there's no way in hell they should be playing a bend-but-don't break cover 2. The defense sucks not because of injuries. It sucks because on 3rd and 3 the defense is playing 10 yards off the ball. It sucks because it is being run by an idiot who has no business coaching in the NFL.
  14. The Bills defense kept the NE and NO games close for 3 quarters, but that was more smoke and mirrors. They actually suck, and are anchored to the bottom statistically of the league.
  15. 3rd and 3 and the DBs are 10 yards off the ball. That's the way to compete Dick!
  16. But, but, but, preseason doesn't mean anything, right? And Jauron just needs time. And the Bills are better off without Peters, and Walker. And the no-huddle will tire other teams out. Back in February it was obvious that this teams was doing everything wrong.
  17. They need to fire Jauron now, and bring in a capable coach so the rest of the season can be spent evaluating the current talent. For example, 12 games under Gruden would give us a definitive answer on Edwards (or Fitzgerald) going into the offseason.
  18. This team is completely pathetic. The HOF ceremony will be the highlight of the season.
  19. Bad, poorly-coached teams lose games like that. If you lived through the Bills 0-for decade against the Dolphins in the70s, you realize that.
  20. It's not luck or karma. Wilson just sucks at building his front office. There is no overall direction in building this team. There's no prototypical player. There's no defining attitude. The few times that Ralph hired guys who instilled a Buffalo Bills mentality, Wilson pissed them off and then drove them off. It's not an accident. Find an owner who has an idea of what type of team he wants to build and you'll find a guy who knows how to hire a coach.
  21. Because after 3 full seasons of having the same coach, drafting his type of players to play in his system, your team SHOULD be able to beat the better teams in the league. Coaches who cannot beat the better teams in the league after having 3 years to build their programs, are usually fired, for good reason. How long do we have to wait for Jauron and his program to beat NE? Why people insist on keeping the training wheels on this team?
  22. C'mon, the Bills played that game with a rookie QB, and as we all know, you can't beat good teams with a rookie QB in the NFL.
  23. But Buffalo is winless in their last 7 AFC East games, so don't chalk this one up yet.
  24. I don't agree with the punt call, but I would hardly call the 8 minute mark in a 10 point game garbage time. I doubt the Smith/Talley led Buffalo defenses of the '90s would call that 'garbage time.' Add to the fact that the defense gave up 14 points in the Pats game, and it's apparent that this defense has difficulty closing games.
  25. The Bills were dysfunctional organization before they brought Knox in. It was the same case before they brought Polian/Levy in. Sure Wilson showed his true colors by driving Knox and Polian out of the organization, but for a short time, the Knox and Polian eras show that, with a little luck, the team can maybe find the right guy and win despite its owner's incompetence.
