The Patriot Way: NFLPA grievance
ProcessAccepted replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be happy if they traded him to us. I think he's going to be really good. Only the jokes not funny coz the keep owning the AFC East. It's gone on too long!! -

I agree it's just an opinion, but it is one shared by a lot of people who can cite some pretty significant examples. Check out some of the calls in the Pittsburgh Seattle Superbowl and you can see why these opinions persist. Big Brand teams like the Steelers seem to have an edge in calls at critical times over less marketable teams. -

My favorite was in the Chargers game when the receiver had his hand inside Gilmore's facemask and Gilmore got flagged. The commentator (can't remember who) also expressed his confusion on the call. -

It's probably the same one that shows no bias. I just watch the games and see what I see. In case you missed it though, no one is saying that its just the Bills. Just catch you up on the point being made - certain teams seem to get calls at certain times in the game when the impact of the call is high. -

I have issues with a couple of your points. The concept of certain teams being held to different officiating standards is not one just held by small groupings of fans and not limited to Bills fans. Our team is not an elite team yet, but it is a team on the rise. Confidence and swagger comes from winning and winning is hard already enough in the professional game without giving Peyton Manning bonus shots in the red zone. I also find it odd that Peyton threw two interceptions that were run back a considerable way and both run backs were negated by penalties (neither of which were shown in replay). The refs are people who probably are fans and are not immune to the whole marketing of brand. I do not think the Commish is sending out memos on which teams should win but I do think the cash register is fuller when certain teams win. -

I'd love to see how those teams are impacted by penalties particularly on 3rd down. It seems to me that they seem to have drives extended by flags and then a less meaningful make up penalty is called on them on a early down later on. I'd love to see stats on that as I think not all penalties have the same effect on the game. -

Its about ratings. A game with certain teams gets greater ratings. Those fans are happier when there top tier team wins and buy more stuff. If you dont think that this happens just go back to the Steelers Seahawks Superbowl where that game was given to the more established brand. It does not just happen to the Bills. This year its worse than usual because in the past we usually lost without any additional help. -

The frustration began long before the Denver game. I've watch the Bills games on tv for years. This is the first year that I have heard so many commentators question calls on the Bills and mention how team "Not The Bills" got away with one there. This year is different for some reason. Too many people are saying it. It's not just Bills fans. Then lets do the same for "Fire MArrone" "Fire HAckett" "Sit EJ" "Start EJ" threads... If a topic does not interest you just dont click on the thread. Personally threads are harder to read when the go above 15 pages. -

I just wish we had Flutie. That's all we really need is a QB. Flutie would make our OL look good with his legs. We've been chasing a QB ever since and having discussion like this one on Orton. -
What would it take to pry Ryan Nassib out of NY ?

The guy I liked that we let go is Garoppolo. The guy is a winner, it worries me where he ended up. -
Can he stay healthy that long?

Put Aaron Rodgers in the GOAT Conversation

That's a shame because you'd lose to at least 10 other guys. Just saying Ehhhh you kinda forgot the guy who threw the ball to Metzelaars, you know the one who owned Marino. -

Having a stud receiver that can break #83's records gives you a better shot at winning a Superbowl. The guy is a rookie so he's not a finished product yet but if games like last week against the Broncos doesn't make you a believer then nothing will. 13 games in and he already owns several key Bills rookie records. The kid just has it, think back to how Eric Moulds did in his rookie year and how great he turned out to be. This team is on the rise. -
Don't be a quitter. We are not out of it yet. If Orton starts and we win will that be enuf for you to get behind the team for the rest of the season.

A great opportunity for the Bills this week

To me they are all big games. Man it's amazing how this team never dipped below 500 with so many glass half empty fans. Come on, even though there have been missed opportunities this year you have to admit that the team has taken huge strides since last year. -

The Packers are not as good as Denver. I like our chances in this game. If the defense can channel their frustrations into a positive performance there is no way Rodgers beats the Bills. -

Is there nothing positive? -
This discussion is sooo disrespectful to a guy that has done and continues to do so much for this team. I would hate to see #22 in a different uniform, especially one from MA.

Marrone Hackett Seal Their Fate

The most important word here is "think". We keep coming up with thoughts and believe them to be fact. Could it simply be that we do not have a good option at QB? Teams that win consistently have an solid answer at that position. We are an 8-8 team that could have been 10-6 if we hadn't blown games like the Texans and Chiefs. Better QB play would have gotten us those two wins. Another thing I'm finding funny is how many people want to keep Schwartz as DC and the call to hire Harbaugh as HC. If those things were to happen I'm sure it would make for some interesting handshakes -
They are a different team when Freddy plays. No question about it but we are lucky to still have him. I can only imagine what his stats would have been with a different team.

I just finished watching highlights of the Seattle/Philly game. If only I had a DeLorean with a flux capacitor.
