  1. That is true. Sunday Ticket is DirecTV only. FIOS TV is available to me in Tonawanda, however, I haven't been able to get clarification on whether or not the Sabres' home games will be available in HD, as the channel lineup I saw did not have MSG HD or a "Sabres HD" channel. I'm also disappointed that the HD DVR set top box does not currently allow for an external hard drive to be attached. So, I'm weighing my options before I switch from TW cable to FIOS TV ... devil you know versus the devil you don't know.
  2. I had a Lennox installed 12/05, about that same amount. Not sure about the model, but I can check if you are interested. I'm in WNY, and went with O'Donnell Heating and Cooling. They did a great job, and threw in a humidifier for free.
  3. Totally agree on tv.yahoo.com. I've started going to TitanTV.com
  4. CBS's Cold Case. From the Wiki article: "Cold Case is notable for double-casting: it will cast a young actor for the flashback sequences and a more seasoned actor for the shots in the present, and cut back and forth between the two, to show how the character has aged. The episode "One Night" managed to triple-cast one character, showing him in the present day, when he committed his murder and when he was a teenager."
  5. I was thinking that too. That was the only logical connection that I could think of for those four. As an aside, anyone think it's possible that the boar and frog that were "harassing" Sawyer were manifestations of his mind (like Jack's dad, the horse, and Hurley's friend were)?
  6. If a long term deal is reached with Clements, they could always front load the contract, eating up some of this years salary cap room, and leaving more space in future seasons. The Vikes did this with Winfield's contract.
  7. I think you are correct. Wayne Huizenga owned the Florida Panthers from 1992-2001 and the Miami Dolphins from 1990-the present. EDIT: He also owned the Florida Marlins during some of those years.
  8. Vincent on NFL Talks Didn't see this posted yet. If it has been, my bad.
  9. Two other great Firefox extensions are IE View and Firefox View. They add options in the right click menus of each brower to send the current page from IE to Firefox or vice versa.
  10. Oilers just traded for two defensemen (Tanstrom from Pittsburgh and Spacek from Chicago). Maybe Edmonton will finally be making the deal for a goalie (Biron?) and sending us one of their other d-men and / or a forward?
  11. This is something the Bills have not done. The last time the Bills used a first day pick on an interior offensive lineman? 1995, Rueben Brown, G, Pitt. They have picked players in the later rounds (and signed UDFA), but none has really panned out. The free agents signed at those positions haven't been part of the solution to this teams decade long offensive line woes either. I, for one, hope that the Bills use at least two of their first four picks to shore up the O-line. That would include drafting a highly regarded guard or center in the 2nd or 3rd. Though there's no sure things in the draft, I think the likely hood of a 2nd / 3rd round guard / center being a decent player is better than that of a 5th round or UDFA player.
  12. I'll only be scared if the new Offensive and Defensive coordinators look like Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy
  13. But don't they have to interview a minority candidate according to the "Rooney Rule"? Unless they talk to Jerry Gray and consider him their minority candidate.
  14. I'm pretty sure Gandy doesn't factor in since, as you mentioned, he was a street free agent. We should get some sort of compensation because the amount of the contracts signed by JJ and PW is part of the equation.
  15. That was after a Gus Ferrotte scramble. They were showing the running stats for #11, just got the wrong #11's name on the screen.
  16. Paul used to run Sabresonline.com back in the mid-90's. That message was from an article he wrote for Sabresreport.com.
  17. There is a sequel to "A Christmas Story" called "It Runs in the Family". A good part of the movie focuses on "The Old Man" (played by Charles Groden) doing battle with the Bumpus family. It's not as good as the first, but worth a watch.
  18. I bought each of the guys in my wedding party a Leatherman multi-tool. It has wire cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, knives, etc. built into it. Kind of like a Swiss Army knife on steroids.
  19. The two people that died were: A) the woman who drowned while swimming (Boone swam out to save her, then Jack swam out to save Boone) B) the marshall that was escorting Kate (Jack had to put the guy out of his misery after Sawyer missed the guys heart with the last bullet in the marshall's gun)
  20. One of the potential positives about Parrish that I haven't seen mentioned is that if he works out as the teams punt and kick returner, it will free up our two starting corners from those duties. I know that teams have to use their best players on special teams, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that every once in a while had the feeling of "oh stojan, what happens if Clements / Mcgee gets hurt on this return!".
  21. If Dwight Adams was still around, you might hear "he plays like his hair is on fire".
  22. Unfortunately, the Bills received nothing for losing Winfield (probably because they signed Vincent and Villarial, thus evening out the "mystical" NFL compensation pick formula).
