Yep. The best example this season of stats not telling the full story is probably the 4th and 2 game against the Chiefs to end that game. How many "points" does traditional passer rating assign to that play for Josh Allen? That would be zero. And however many points Total QBR assigned to it is probably still not even enough. Play of the year as Jim Nantz rightfully called it.

Winner won't be announced until after the conference championship game though so that is not a possibility.

Do Saturday and Sunday both have 8pm games? I know Sunday does since it has three games. But don't recall if Saturday is sometimes 1pm and 4pm with no 8pm game.

I'll prefer an 8pm game because I'll be traveling at the start of a 4pm game. And definitely no 1pm games on either day please as I'll be at a swim meet both days. Wasn't our last 8pm wild card game the perfect game against the Pats?

Way too early to predict any of that though. For all we know in the WC Baltimore could be playing Sunday Night and Bills on Saturday. And then the Divisional could be the following week on Saturday. Which would you rather have? One extra days rest for your WC opponent or one extra days rest against your divisional opponent?

How is it legit? Is #3 playing #2 in the first round? It's a nothing burger. Bengals potential 7 seed, albeit small chance, having an extra day of rest is at least more of a complaint.

Bills have an entire extra week. We certainly are not preparing for the Patriots over the next seven days. Best option is to assume a Broncos win and start preparing for them.

Exactly. And great point about how middling the Steelers have been. Three straight losses, failing to score more than 17 points in all three and giving up an average of 30ppg. They need a good performance going into the postseason.

I'm surprised Miami vs. New York Jets isn't the Sunday afternoon game over Baltimore and Cleveland. Maybe they want to showcase Lamar one more time in a stand alone game.

You don't see a difference between playing at Baltimore vs. the hot trash that is Houston?

Nope. Steelers are at worst 5 seed if they win. Lose and they are likely the 6 seed. Big difference between going to Baltimore vs. going to Houston. Houston has been hot garbage for half the season now.

The TV networks don't pay big bucks for meaningless stand alone seeding implication games. You all need to get over the Bengals having an extra day. There are three games featuring teams that could be the 7 seed. Odds were very low one of them wouldn't be on Saturday. If Bills staff is so concerned they can start prepping for Bengals tomorrow.

there’s a very limited number of games available that have actual meaning. I don’t think ESPN paid a bunch of money for games that don’t have serious playoff implications. You would also get more eyeballs on the games if you spread them out I think. The only risk is dolphins and Bengals both lose making the Denver game totally irrelevant. A pretty slim chance both lose though.

sorry, but nobody at the league office is going to care and honestly fans aren’t gonna care that much either. Bills staff is basically going to start getting ready for the Broncos tomorrow. no way Denver and Chiefs is Saturday anyways. there are only two games on Saturday, so putting Denver and Chiefs on Saturday could spoil the meaning of one of the other two games for dolphins and Bengals.

I expect the two Saturday games to be Bengals vs. Steelers and Dolphins vs. Jets. In that order. Bengals have to play first because Dolphins winning would eliminate the Bengals. Chiefs vs Broncos will be Sunday late afternoon game.

Hopefully just one hand off. I don’t want him doing more than that given how he plays the game.

Carson Wentz starting against the Broncos defense in Denver and playing with backups is going to be a problem for Cincinnati.

only thing that matters is winning. Allen will win or lose the mvp based on being the two seed and his historic 4 game stretch against the nfl’s best teams. Nothing else matters or changes that. Lamar can never take that 4 game streak away. It will be up the voters to judge that streak be Lamar’s numbers. That streak was crucial. If the Bills lose to the Chiefs and Lions like everyone else had the Ravens would be the two seed right now.

That's what they keep saying. I do think it is going to be about 20mph by kick off and for most of the game today which is still plenty windy to wreck a game plan and especially the kicking game. I do think they are embellishing by saying 40mph because when Allen finishes the game with less than 200 total yards and only 1 or 2 TD's they want people to consider how bad the conditions were. Winning this game should be the only thing that matters in Allen's bid for MVP. He did enough already in his historic 4 game streak (against three really good teams too) which set him and the Bills up to have a two game lead on Baltimore and the ability to sit everyone week 18.

The rest of the NFL cost the Bills the one seed. It seems the Bills are the only team that can consistently beat the Chiefs these last four seasons (4wins 2 losses). We all thought the Rams loss cost the Bills the one seed. Turns out that game didn't even matter in the chase for the one seed because the rest of the league is so bad against the Chiefs.

Rex and Greeny on Countdown keep saying 40mph winds today. They are both in Allen's corner for MVP. I think they are trying to establish the point in everyone's head to not expect big numbers from Allen and the offense today in the MVP race. It is likely a game the Bills try and run the ball 30+ times.
