Trump 47, Putin & The Ukraine War.
Coffeesforclosers replied to BillsFanNC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Nobody outside of Ukraine and Russia actually cares about the killing there. Not Biden, not Trump, certainly not all the bleeding hearts that have popped up since election time. But it has been fun watching all the holier-than-thous harp about stopping the senseless slaughter...when they remember to care about it on the internet. -

Outstanding news. Now give him 20+ runs a game in the playoffs. -
Trump needs to fire Pam Bondi!

So the bait and switch worked? Instead of holding the President's feet to the fire on his campaign promise regarding pedophiles, we're just gonna shrug our shoulders and fall in line? -
Yeaahhhhhh. Eternal Light Peace Memorial at Gettysburg. It was unveiled by Union and Confederate veterans. Contained references and symbolism to the whole nation. Commemorated specifically "American Heroism". Hegseth just returned an monument funded by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, that only talks about the Confederacy and Confederate dead, and has a latin inscription containing the words lost cause. And was originally unveiled on Jeffeson Davis' birthday. Which one of these sounds like a reconciliation monument?

Preseason - Around the League

8-9 Ws seems ideal. Just enough success for a trip to purgatory. -
It was Joey Bosa.

Russia Blinks on nuclear saber rattling Good move by Trump. He didn't piss his pants and run away while bawling about World War III and escalation. He simply pushed back with an equal, opposition reaction and suddenly the Russians have nothing to say... So yeah, finally some successful diplomacy, of the gunboat variety.

According to the President, this year's KIA totals are 14:1 in favor of Ukraine. Someone should tell Putin this is unsustainable. We also told the Russians we're moving nuclear subs toward Russia in response to recent nuclear saber rattling by Dmitri Medvedev. Congress will debate another $55ish billion in Ukraine aid. Which shouldn't be that awful because Zelensky just rolled back his dumbass law that neutered anti-corruption watchdogs. Soooo we're back to Biden's Ukraine policy, but with more hee-hawing about peace, and nastier name calling on X.

Preseason - Around the League

Dude must have a syringe the size of a coke bottle...I mean, ahem, "It's just a pain management issue now, he'll gut it out like a professional". -
First ever British QB gets D1 scholarship
Coffeesforclosers replied to Buffalo716's topic in College Football
I will never forget old CW for two reasons. First, his insane pre season touchdown runs. Second, watching him run away from his blockers because his rugby brain kicked in and he didn't want them penalized for obstruction. -
This is with an economy roughly the same size as Italy. The conversion of Russia into a Garrison State continues. But given their policy of...refusing to accept that Ukraine's juice isn't worth Russia's squeeze, it makes sense. They've got no choice since the blowback from this debacle now includes a centralizing, rearming EU that views the US as an unreliable security guarantor. And therefore needs independent defense capabilities in all areas to protect its 449 million citizens and $17.9 Trillion economy. It would be absolutely hilarious if this trend towards militarization and centralization continues AND the UK decides to reverse Brexit because it's been an economic disaster and the Special Relationship is on life support due to America First/Tarrifs of the Day. And all because Russia's Eurasianist ideologues and their pet Oligarchs wanted a short, victorious war against "the most corrupt nation on the planet".

If you have trouble getting into Hammers, there are a ton of new lots on Allen, Glenn and Fay Streets. The families there good to deal with. FCFS so get there early (pre 730 AM)

UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?
Coffeesforclosers replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Well that sucks and I hope it's wrong. Because if it's right, we brilliantly executed a half-assed operational concept.
