DeSantis For President in 2024?
Coffeesforclosers replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Those are good reasons, and they make sense. They're just not the reasons why Russia started the war. Yevgeniy Prigozhin straight up told the world why Russia started the war. It has nothing to do with historical grievances, broken treaties, or anything else that makes sense to a reasonable person. It has everything to do with a naked land and resource grab for Russia's billionaire class, and to boost Russian prestige by making America look weak. -

I'm in my late 30s, and I'm watching incredibly smart, incredibly well educated people with their careers and finances squared away try to parent. They aren't doing well. I basically agree with you. So while we're trading hot takes... I totally agree with a Lutheran Theologian, Jordan B Cooper, who basically says that the Nuclear Family is part of the problem. It used to be that family stretched out to include coworkers, 2nd cousins, close family friends, etc. Theses sorts of extended families were the real bedrock of communities. Then the Nuclear Family comes along and says the only thing that really matters is Your spouse, Your 2.3 kids, Your . 75 acres and Your three bedroom/two baths house. Now everyone knows what some Twitter celebrity is up to, but couldn't tell you their neighbor's last name. -
I've given up using irony on this forum. Watching Mr. Radical Free Speech drop on his knees and smile like a doughnut for the CCP though. That's almost too much. Maybe I will join Twitter, and post radical opinions like "Taiwan should be free and independent" or "The CCP is trying to eradicate the Uighurs".

It's behind a paywall on financial times, but Musk just signed a pledge agreeing with China's socialist values.

DeSantis For President in 2024?

He won't care if he's still up by 20. Neither will his voters He's going to meet the debate requirements. He's brash, loud, quick witted, crude and sarcastic. Exactly the verbal style that flusters DeSantis. I'm not saying DeSantis is a bad politician. But so far he's a wet fart of a presidential candidate. He's not ready for the fight. Which is...concerning... for somebody who is ex Military from Harvard Law. So now he gets to show us his resilience and adaptability. Or he can tread water and get beat. -

Trump won't debate unless he absolutely needs to, and nobody can force him to do a debate if he doesn't want to. If DeSantis is banking on that... ... Can you imagine a fencepost like DeSantis holding his own against Chris Christie and Trump at the same time? That and even if Trump is convicted, and he ***** should be, he still wouldn't be barred from office. -

He can't though. DeSantis' brand is all MAGA, all culture war, all the time. That's also Trump's brand, and Trump's way better at it. Ron's turning into just another Ivy League suit to be schooled by Trump. He's had years to figure out how to beat the guy, and so far he's got nothing. -
I don't. It's France. They've been through three monarchies, two empires, one facist dictatorship and four republics since 1793. They had a communist coup in 1870 and a military coup in the 1960s. They'll sort themselves out or they won't. There's nothing atypical going on.

Huh. Not a single former Patriots player on that list...

Why should we give a ***** if France can't get it's act together?
