I never meant this as a bash Kelsay thread. The issue I see is that they have a lot of talent on the Dline, and they will have to make a choice between keeping a quality vet vs. a younger guy with potential. It's going to be a very difficult decision...

Not bad. I think the D-line cut will come down to one of Edwards/Johnson/Troup, only because of Troup's injury history. For the rest of the roster: 1. In the end, I doubt they go with the specialty kicker, because they'd have to cut a good player. 2. I don't know much about Williams who is listed as G, but if he can't also play center, Brown's experience could keep him instead. 3. Choice will probably beat out White at RB. 4. We'll see if Moorman can beat out the young kid? 5. This Dorin Dickerson is intriguing as an Hback/FB. Doubt he will supplant Mac, but it's possible they keep 3 TEs. 6. I expect Hagan to stick around at WR, but who goes? Martin has the edge on ST. 7. There will be a good battle between Carder and McKillop for a roster spot, and I think Mckillop has the edge in experience and former Pitt player. Unfortunately, I'm sure injuries will sort some of this out.

As I said, I think it's age and money. If one of them is only marginally better than someone like Carrington, I think they go with youth and the cheaper salary.

If there are no injuries before the season starts (a big IF with guys like Troup and Merriman), there are too many bodies on the DL, and one of these 30+, higher paid guys won't stick around. Who goes? I say Edwards is the odd man out.

I won't be surprised, in fact I think it will happen, if they carry 7. LBs have the size and speed you want on STs. Bradham, Carder, and McKillop all excel on STs. The LB position will be a tough cut. I think White will be a casualty this year, even though I thought he looked good in the few times he played.

Do you think it stops there? No response from Russia or China? This won't end well...

There is quite a history here at TBD. BiB was certainly a respected member of the community. I hope he found peace. I miss a lot of the old characters...

Are you sure about the impact on 401ks and pensions? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but those entities don't pay any taxes on retirees' funds, so the capital gains tax is irrelevant for those funds. Income taxes are paid once someone starts collecting on pensions and 401ks at retirement. And "capital formation"? That term is so 1990s. As for this entire welfare debate, I thought Clinton and the Republicans "ended welfare as we know it?" There are limits on eligibility and there are work requirements now. Since it's been pushed down to the states, there are some differences by state, but didn't the notion of permanent welfare queens die in 1996?

This should be where we see the "Mario effect" come into play, especially with Byrd--Gotta Billieve Mario makes it more attractive to stay.

I'd agree. Though a so-so young experienced CB should be more valuable than a so-so aging exprienced WR, so I'd expect you could get a 3rd for him.

From what I read, he won the starting job but then broke a leg, then Barkley took over. Said he lost some mobility as a result. He'll be lucky to make PS.

I threw Bradham's name out there a month ago when I was randomly looking at OLBs to find ones where an analyst said "good cover LB," and suggested he's the type they should go after in the 3rd. Totally shocked when his name came up.

He's just checked off his last stated need: 2 CBs, check 2 OTs, check Deep speed WR threat, check OLB, check. This R5 second pick has to be a tall WR, then he's definitely done.

Of all the "professional" draft prognosticators, I trust Mayock the most. That does not mean I think he knows talent better than the guys who have to actually select. In the end, everyone will have their hits and misses, since there is no certainty on making the transition to the pros. One thing I think the Bills do well is focus on hard-working, high character types who have the talent. That lessens the odds of picking a bust.

I think they get an A for the first 2 picks. It will be a good battle at LT between Hairston and Glenn, and whoever loses becomes the swing tackle on game day since they can both play either side. Don't know that Graham can come in and contribute this year since they say he is a little raw. I suppose if he's simply running a fly, there's not much to learn...
