  1. I think teams stayed there because there weren't many choices. Was it Brady or Belichick who criticized Buffalo hotels? Back then, they were right...
  2. That place sucks. For price and decent location, I'd say Embassy Suites or the Hyatt. For coolness, I'd say the Lafayette Hotel. Best of all possible worlds, the "lofts on Pearl" which is associated with and next to the Pearl Street Brewery, but it doesn't have a lot of rooms.
  3. Depends. Are you more concerned about price or location? Pegula's marriot at harbor center is scheduled to open sometime this year: http://www.harborcenter.com/marriott/overview/
  4. I was all set to agree with the sentiment that "Buddy deserves some credit, but Whaley is much better"... but then I looked at the drafts again. Yes, Buddy's first draft (2010) stunk, but the next two were pretty good. He hit on both picks in the top 50, and added some good players in the later rounds--Searcy, Sheppard (who got them Hughes), Hairston, Bradham, Brooks. His last draft would be judged good as well, except he was in a position where he felt he had to find a QB--that draft will depend on what happens with EJ. Whaley's first draft also has a question mark in CyrusK. If he pans out, then I think this could go down as one of the best drafts in years, if.... I like Whaley's attitude on this draft though. He said something like "anyone should be able to draft a good player in the top 15, this is where they need to show how good they are." I'm looking forward to their choices...
  5. His game speed really impressed me, so I decided to compare his speed with Kiko's. 40 times H Mid L Kiko: 4.85, 4.74, 4.64 PB: 4.86, 4.78, 4.68 Not much difference there.
  6. What did the Bills in last year was getting swept by the AFCWest. I'll take 3-1 vs NFCE if it comes with 3-1 against AFCS, for a +2 in Ws, all else equal.
  7. It's an interesting question that rodak raised: is the capitalist form of organization better than the socialist form when it comes to a football roster? What's the best way to allocate the pie in order to achieve a winning team? Let it begin... :-)
  8. I certainly found that analogy interesting when I heard him say it on the draft video. Whaley is fomenting class conflict....
  9. Link didn't work.
  10. I think he also said something about figuring it out by the time training camp starts, so they can work on the chemistry. Again, unlike the previous admin that was monkeying around with different combos through the last preseason game...
  11. The Bills have done a significantly better job at finding players in later rounds since 2011, I attribute most of that to Whaley.
  12. That will be the biggest question mark on D. They were much better under Schwartz, but they trailed off in the second half of the season. They still lack a true NT.
  13. i'd like to see that happen. I think Charles is ready for a break out year. The article makes it clear why kiko was expendable too.
  14. Yes, can we start the season already!?
  15. I think they will most likely stay put at 50, as I'm guessing there will be someone who falls to them that they have a higher value on at that pick--BPA. I'm guessing their trade will come in the 3rd to move up about 5 spots, giving up their 5th.
  16. For the most part, I think this board is representative of what I said in my previous post. Do you watch Fox? I'd be shocked if you said you did. I bet most of the posters here do something similar to what I do: I don't watch any major news show; I get the FT, and my wife gets The New Yorker. Most of my "regular news" comes from various web sites and RSS feeds.
  17. Thanks, I was going to post something along these lines. I think more educated people on both sides rely on alternative sources of new rather than Fox or CNN. I'd be surprised if some of our libertarian friends here think Fox is trustworthy....maybe more trustworthy than CNN, but that's not saying much...
  18. At least Fox beat day time talk shows!
  19. It's too bad they didn't have a category for education level in that poll, that would've been interesting...
  20. I'm warming up to him, but I just can't see the Bills taking him at 50, and he probably won't last until 81.
  21. From the B-News article by Carucci today, a quote by Whaley: “And that’s our goal, that’s our philosophy, to have those guys in for two or three years, have them on special teams and add depth. And when their number’s called, they’ve been in the system for a while and they’ll have less propensity to make mistakes.”
  22. I can't wait until the first OTA so we can settle this argument...
  23. yolo, do you get compensated for your service? You ought to! You and a few others who keep on top of bills' related info really make this site great.Thanks.
  24. in 2 of the last 3 years they have selected OL in R2. As I keep saying, if ck takes the jump this year, a big part of the problem is solved.
