  1. I meant that the 20016 combine and draft is upon us and this thread is from 2015 saying there is a crystal ball to 2016 prospects... just found it odd!
  2. 247 lb for Henry? Will be very interesting to see his 40 time.
  3. This thread really confused me for a minute! Then I realized it was from a whole year ago. Not sure you need a crystal ball anymore. haha
  4. Combine should be really interesting with all of the QBs throwing. I'm looking forward to that.
  5. I'm not a Bills fan, or any of those things. I do follow the NFL and seemed like they were in it to me. My apologies.
  6. I am pretty lukewarm on the Browns staff. Hue Jackson's claim to fame is going 8-8 with a bad team in Oakland. He did well as an OC in Cincy but inherited an experienced, playoff QB and loaded offensive roster. He will not have that here. I don't dislike it, I'm just not celebrating yet. I feel he is rather unproven. Sure, 8-8 would be an improvement. But then what? He's never been to the playoffs as a HC. He has very little HC experience. As far as Horton, not a fan of him at all. Titans, the worst team in the league, didn't even want him and just let him leave for a lateral move. But still better than Jim O'Neil. Best hire at this point looks like Pep Hamilton. But he was Andrew Luck's OC in college and NFL. Easy to look good with that to work with. Once he didn't have Luck, he didn't look good, and got fired. I don't know anything about Kirby Smart but again he was working with Adrian Peterson. Easy to look good with that. Plus, why didn't the Vikings try to keep him, again this was a lateral move. I am keeping an open mind though and recognize this is a rebuild. Until they find a QB, it is all moot. The Chargers spent 3 picks, including a 1st rounder, on Melvin Gordon. He had zero TDs and generally looked pretty bad all year. The injury excuse only goes so far. The Chargers had multiple games where they only scored 3 points. That's never acceptable when you have HOF level QB who was setting passing records this year. They couldn't score. Reich isn't a good OC, he is a good QB coach.
  7. no Why would you think that? He has a pattern of the same issues over and over and over and over at every level since high school. Other way around. The Browns were trying to trade him for a year when Banner and Lombardi were here with no takers.
  8. Do you really think that Kathryn Smith's administrative role on the Jets and Bills played a part in their record? Or that the Quality Control coach on any unit is to blame? This is a negative referendum on Rex Ryan that he hired a female coach with 14 years of NFL experience to be a QC coach? One of the stranger posts I've seen, sorry. I also don't understand the part of the Bills being "terrible"... they finished .500 and were in the playoff race into late December. Interesting perspective. I am a Browns fan. The Browns were "terrible." The Bills were "pretty good, but not good enough." Just my own very humble opinion, of course.
  9. I was at the game and I definitely think Brown was faking, so did everyone around me.
  10. I was at the game. If you think Marvin Lewis should be fired (I don't, though he isn't absolved of all blame), then Tomlin should be fired too. Not only because he underachieves every year with a HOF QB and befoe Saturday hadn't won a playoff game in 6 years, but because he perpetuates a culture of dirty play, stupid penalties, and embarrassing antics by players and coaches including himself. It was gross. Has been like that all year. I don't care who won, but do I think Brown was faking at the end? Yep. No doubt in my mind. He's already cleared to play, he never had a concussion, he flopped. Porter was not on the field to check on him, he never even looked at him, he was there to stir things up. How many times is William Gay going to the dirty bird in the end zone and guys taking 15 yarders for taunting before Tomlin does anything? He does not discipline his players at.all. The Bengals deserved to lose. But anyone who thinks the Bengals are the only team to be stupid and dirty are overlooking a lot on the other side. It was a very volatile crowd and atmosphere. It was the weirdest game. Guys with their helmets off on the field, running into the locker room after plays, assistant coaches getting into it with players - wtf. The official were asleep out there for most of the game and then let the outcome rest on their subjective call. The Steelers didn't deserve to move on any more than Cincy.
  11. Not sure why the snark? He's not the coordinator, that was why I wondered why it would matter to season ticket sales.
  12. The assistant coaching staff affects season ticket sales in Buffalo? We don't have a head coach or a QB. Like, at all. And fans still buy season tickets.
  13. If Buster Skrine got the contract he did in FA, a corner like this at his young age is going to be highly coveted and paid if he hits the market.
  14. A terrible coach in general, or a terrible coordinator? He has a history of being a good coach - why do you think he's terrible? He was good enough for New England while winning Super Bowls. Unless he is a coordinator, which he wasn't good at in his last stint, I'm not sure where the "terrible" evaluation comes from and just curious. Actually his best defense was ranked 4th. But he was run out of 2 teams as the DC. Was he ever "run out" of anywhere as a position coach or assistant coach that wasn't a coordinator? Ken Whisenhunt was run out of two teams as the HC. Does that mean the Chargers shouldn't make him their offensive coordinator? Jim O'Neill was a good position coach in Buffalo and a bad DC in Cleveland. Sometimes a coach is best in a particular role with a certain level of responsibility.
  15. I am surprised you all are upset about this. Is it because you all seem to not like Rex? It doesn't appear that he is the going to be the defensive coordinator or run the defense. Rob Ryan is a good defensive coach. He was quite good as a DC while in Cleveland. He ultimately wouldn't be called a successful DC after his time in New Orleans. But simply as an assistant? He was very successful with the linebackers in New England and I have seen a lot of people say they think your linebackers need a lot of help. It is funny that a lot of people here seem to want Mike Pettine back, but his defense completely failed in Cleveland (ranked worse than New Orleans). Rob's track record is actually better than Mike's. Unless they are firing Rex and replacing him with Rob, he isn't running your defense. Is it because of how he looks or because he is Rex's brother and you don't like him? What makes him a "clown?" He seems like he would be a good addition to a staff as an assistant. If it comes down to how a guy looks, should the Browns not hire Matt Patricia?
  16. If only there were some way to actually know which team was better, like say playing each other head to head.
  17. His offense looks great (no input? He's the one who got the QB) and he seems to motivate very well. I don't get the "I told you so" and I'm not even a Bills fan. I don't know about the discipline part but I also think worrying about penalties is overrated. The Jets seem to get plenty of their own so I wouldn't laugh so soon.
  18. Jeff Fisher hasn't made the playoffs since 2008 and hasn't won a playoff game since 2003. He actually talks quite a bit, but can't back it up. He keeps firing assistants - maybe he should fire himself.
  19. Were they stuck on one position? Seems like most team's boards are ranked in order of player, regardless of position.
  20. He is really good too. As are Allen Robinson, Mike Evans, Allen Hurns, etc. It was a good draft class for WRs, it turns out. Just can't understand the point of view that because they are good too, that it can't mean your guy isn't just as good or even better in certain areas (like his jaw dropping routes). Or that you wouldn't be over the moon that you have him. The trade is over, you can't change it, might as well enjoy what you got out of it. Your board is incredibly informative for fans of all teams and that's why I come here sometimes, but I will always be fascinated by some of the inability to appreciate some areas of your team that are truly exciting and elite.
  21. So Pettine didn't go to the Lou Holtz school of press conferences. This is way overblown by the media. How dare he say anything interesting? Why even have press conferences? Just say the same thing in the box of boring every week. I'm not the world's biggest Pettine fan but why is he being criticized for being honest (while still praising him immensely) and saying what is pretty much the general consensus? I think Wilson is a really good QB but he had some bad games this year, and is still in process of proving himself among the guys he mentioned in the "top tier" who are HEADED TO THE HOF for the love of god.
  22. I don't understand how you can ever complain about having Sammy Watkins on your team. He is only 22 and already one of the most feared weapons in the league. Take the time to appreciate the fact he is on your team instead of wringing your hands about the trade. It is like staring into the sky and trying to find the clouds when the sun is out. The Browns were involved in two of these WR trades and when you are on the side that actually gets the elite player, you are the lucky ones.
