  1. https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/local-politics/colorado-gop-call-burn-gay-pride-flags/73-e5156582-2888-46d2-b535-d5981c149817 I live in Colorado. It wasn't so long ago (10 years?) that I voted for Republican Senator Cory Gardner, a decent and honorable man. He has no place in the current party. What has happened to the Republican Party here is disgusting. They are lost in Trumpian "own the libs" nonsense that is losing them a whole generation. Or generations. It's not just "burn the flag" - it's a semi-official endorsement of a truly offensive banner. Click on the link.
  2. Yep. What happens when you ignore crime because it's "minor" and we don't want to label more people "criminals."
  3. The defense is pretty straightforward here: Hunter's attorney is arguing that the phrasing on the ATF form allow wiggle room It is basically "are you addicted or a user of [controlled substances]," phrased like that, in the present tense. It's kind of a Clintonesque "depends what the meaning of is is" loophole. He's arguing that while he was a user/addict, he didn't knowingly provide a false declaration because on the day he filled out the form he has come out of rehab and was no longer a user. I'm not sure what evidence there is for that other than his own testimony, which of course he may decide not to offer. He's boxed in though: his own memoir has him heavily using right up to the time he got back to Delaware, and there's a text to his (official) girlfriend at the time, Hallie Biden, the very next day in which he clearly says he's meeting with a "dealer." So the wiggle room would seem to be: a was an addict user up until the start of the month; I then rehabbed and stopped using; I then signed the declaration; the very next day I fell off the wagon and contacted my dealer again. So ... circumstantial. Just like Trump in the hush money case, this is the stupid case to bring. The tax case coming up later this summer is the one that matters, as is Trump's DC (and GA) cases, which are unfortunately stalled due to a meddling S.Ct. and a horny stupid unethical GA DA.
  4. I was prescribed ivermectin years ago, in a cream form to treat rosacea. Worked like a charm. Fascinating reason why. And yes, we all have them, but it only causes problems in some people and often from time to time. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/25/multimedia/bugs-halloween-kids-ar-ul.html Face Mite These scaly microscopic mites live in the hair follicles and oil glands of your face. (Two face mite species are found just on humans. Lucky us). We don’t know what they’re eating exactly — it could be our oils, skin cells or microbes — but it’s enough to keep them content for their entire lives (a few weeks). “I like to think of them as grazers,” Dunn says. Face mites mostly move around your face during the night because they don’t like bright light.
  5. there's a lot of nutty things about the MAGA "philosophy," but the nuttiest one is the merging of the RFK Jr. anti-vax thing into MAGA. Other than the Paul Ryan-engineered tax cut, Operation Warp Speed was the signature achievement of the Trump presidency. Yet he runs away from it.
  6. It's a pretty crazily skewed demographic problem. The ultra Orthodox are growing in population and political power, egging on some of the most extreme policies like expansion of West Bank settlements. Yet they have been exempt from military service despite stirring up tensions that require a strong military. The situation isn't what we had in the USA in the Vietnam era, since the exemptions/deferments weren't skewed toward proponents of one party or policy. By the way, what ever became of Trump's famous bone spurs?
  7. You take the man's money, yes, you have to do what he tells you to do.
  8. Still a federal charge. And you get the jury you chose by committing the crime there.
  9. I think I was about 13? Some kid's older brother wore a black armband to honor them. Really.
  10. Don't let the virtual door hit you in your physical butt on the way out. See you on the football side.
  11. Now where did I put those Tommy Eyerolls ... There's about 62 million people 65 and over alone. And while a lot of them are also over 65, there's over 100 million who have heart disease of some sort or another. It's a big fat old country we got.
  12. This is getting ugly real fast. Hunter's defense is saying that Hallie (Beau's wife who Hunter moved in on, itself an embarrassing fact) is responsible for cocaine residue found on Hunter's gun. Hunter not doing a whole lot to change the narrative re how despicable he is.
  13. But you were around on the day the music died. (for the second time) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynyrd_Skynyrd_plane_crash
  14. I don't care to listen to McAfee. But it is true that there is widespread resentment by black players of the attention that Caitlin Clark garners. Reminds me of the whole Larry Bird thing in the 80s, but that was more about fans resenting him than his fellow players. To their credit, male NBA players were kind of like jazz musicians. Yeah, they'd joke about the white guy, but as soon as he showed he really had the chops there were no questions he belonged in the band.
  15. Pray? They pray for me. Why would I bother?
  16. Something that is rationed (COVID vaccines available if you are (1) old; (2) have certain health conditions; (3) are in a public contact job) is not "widely available."
  17. It's always been on my list. But ... should it be? I mean, one of those citadels of football and all that. But is the experience that great? I can't help but think back to when I was all excited to go to Wrigley and Fenway. Then I went and was underwhelmed. Wow, old, with terrible sightlines, restrooms, food ...
  18. Depends on what you mean by widely available. Seniors and those with health conditions/public contact jobs got in line early. I had one of those public contact jobs so I was able to get the first jab in late February, the booster in March. I remember having to fill out some kind of attestation to get the shot. Obviously there are a lot of seniors, people with health conditions, and people in public contact jobs. But the ordinary 20 or 30 something had to wait.
  19. But we're better off today because gas was cheap because no one had any reason to drive anywhere so there
  20. bro is old school And Megyn Kelly was hotter when she was younger and not trying too hard
  21. You really need to just admit it: you got red-pilled by a nut job. And then he was banned from this site and you went nuts yourself. Run some stats.
  22. Settle down, bro. Biden may have said 200 million vaccines had been administered. I don't care to look it up.
  23. Yep. I looked at some stats - problem is they counted each individual jab. So the 2 vaccine protocol means 200 million jabs, 100 million people vaccinated.
