This just in...Forbes has made my listing of the 10 Most Miserable Magazines, coming in at #2. Tiger Beat took top honors as they were the only ones with worse writers than Forbes.

I had this thought after Johns was booted: Instead of voting for the best (or worst, ie Sanjaya sp?) how about voting for the person that does a song with a prophetic meaning if they're booted? It happens all the time - I remember a couple of years ago someone got botted after singing "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" by Boys II Men. This week it was Johns with "Dream On." He sang the lyric "Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away." Sure enough he did - albeit two days later because of the "Gives Back" special. Just a thought, but it would make viewing alot more interactive.

No way do the Bills go Guard at #11. Even in a year where OL is a big priority (not the case now) #11 is LT $$$ - not guard. It's funny how a slow 40 time drops a guy a full round. Three days ago every mock had the Bills taking Kelly at #11 - now everyone thinks he'll be there at 41. I think he'll be nothing but a memory by the 21st pick. Sweed seems more likely at 41. As for everything else you've got - I'd take it in a New York minute. Hey, you asked for eggs and tomatoes.

I'm in the lobby of the Hilton in Niagara Falls, Ontario and they've turned off all of the lobby lights except auxillary lighting. The Fallsview Casino has dimmed their great dome and the Skylon Tower is dark. All in all, very cool. Go Mother Earth!

Thanks we can use all the help we can get. Btw, at the next meeting we are attempting to arrange a speaker from the return home to Buffalo organization. It's a concept where expatriates are encouraged to all return home during the same week to wax nostalgic about the old days and find out ways they can either land a good paying job and return or lend a hand in the renaissance from where they are now. We're going to try nd set the same thing up for Niagara Falls. I know that in my 8 years with the newspaper, I've had countless emails from people saying "If I could only find a job making even 3/4 of what I'm making now, I'd be back in a heartbeat." Keep the faith!

I know that some of you on this site live in Niagara Falls or are originally from there. As you know the city is in deplorable shape. Last year I started a group to try and give the people a way to make a difference - as it was obvious that government wasn't going to right the ship alone. What started as an idea has grown into a full-blown movement with over 70 people working on four sub-groups. Just published a piece about an arcade in the Summit Mall in Niagara Falls. They have 7 of the bowling machines like the one's that used to be in every bar. All are completely restored and can be played for a quarter. I've always been a big fan of the machines and it's getting harder and harder to find a bar with a working one. This team has some serious upgrading to do between now and the regular season (draft, trades, FA's, whatever) as well as some growing up to do between now and then... ... because part of me looks at this schedule and thinks the Bills could start 8-0 before heading to Miami. I'm guessing 6-3 at this point, but who knows... maybe we'll all be surprised and they'll play out of their heads the first half and be sitting pretty at 7-1 or better.
