  1. Don't have much to say about Dante - what's left to say, really, except "Goodbye?" - but did want to say that I've been listening to the George Harrison "All Things Must Pass" CD recently and I love your screen name.
  2. Here's a mock for the just completed draft that was done back in January. Most of the picks seem crazy when looked at in hindsight. Already there are 2012 mocks out - other than a reason to waste printer's ink, what's the point? The good news is that the Bills ended up with 2 first round picks as they were predicted here: Early 2011 Mock
  3. Had to do it because of the subject of your post. Though to say that we are allowed to butcher Searcy's name aloud would be correct.
  4. I can't tell if the OP is being sarcastic or not. I love what the Bills did in this draft, but do think that whatever scouts they have covering the northern and eastern ends of the country must be thinking, "WTF did I just spend a year of my life putting 250,000 miles on my Honda Civic for anyway?" I think their philsophy was a new one: BPA south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Get 'er done, Buddy!
  5. I give the draft an A+ Sure, it's too early to know how these guys will pan out, but the theory of their draft (still amazed that they actually have one) was right on. All 3 picks address the porous run defense. 3 and outs should be far more common now, giving the offense a boost by proxy. Nice work, Buddy
  6. Cleveland should get an A+++++ They walk away with DT Phil Taylor (which just about every mock done on TBD hoped would end up on the Bills in the 2nd) give up a 3rd but acquire Atlanta's No. 27 overall pick and second- and fourth-round picks this year, in addition to Atlanta's first- and fourth-round picks in 2012. If the Bills had been in place to make such a play I think most here would be ecstatic.
  7. Also interesting to note that he didn't have Bowers going in the 1st rd. Maybe that knee really is wrecked.
  8. Thanks for the tip (Jimbo?) Hope it's not AJ
  9. I'm pretty sure hate has beaten love to a bloody pulp. I think I asked you this before, but isn't that Vincent (rips his hometown of Buffalo every time he sees a camera rolling) Gallo in the top tat on your arm? Are you Vincent Gallo? Is Malarchuk's severed neck in the on deck circle?
  10. I thought it was a great line - funny and true. I'll be using it in the future
  11. Just think, there was a time when newly-drafted players would slip into this: Retro Bills' Hat
  12. Here's a guy a lot of UB fans will be happy to know is still playing pro ball: Drew Willy
  13. Bills get compensatory 7th - "Winning."
  14. Tom Cousineau #1 overall by the Bills in 1979.
  15. Deal. Lunch at the restaurant of the winner's choice?
  16. While I agree with many of your points I think that the fact that Chan will be in year 2 of what, iirc, is a 3-year contract will make it near impossible for him to sit a #3 overall QB for a year. If he does that it would put him in the position of having 8-10 games max in year 3 (When the Bills would be looking to extend him)with a 1st year starting QB to extend his life as an NFL head coach. Remember, this is already his 2nd kick at the can as a top man in the NFL. If he fails here he won't get a third shot. Also, if the rookie looks good in preseason, it would make it very hard for the staff to stick with their plan, especially if Fitz stumbles coming out of the gate. I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts right now that any QB that's drafted that high by the Bills starts over Fitz from day 1.
  17. Nice Bills tat. Is that Vincent (I hate my hometown of Buffalo) Gallo above it? Just a side note, my brother-in-law got a Bills tat and it turns out he's allergic to red ink, so it bubbled up horribly.
  18. If they do go QB at #3 that guy is your 2011 starter from game #1 - no question. For the people that say let him sit behind Fitzy like Aaron Rodgers did, I respectfully remind them that Rodgers sat only because he was behind an NFL institution known as Brett Favre. You don't make the multi-million dollar commitment that a QB at #3 requires to have the guy sit for 1/4 of his rookie contract before you find out if he is the man. So for all of the Fitzpatrick loyalists (and I may be one) be careful what you wish for. If Gabbert or Newton has his name called at #3, Fitz goes straight back to the bench.
  19. I thought that the interesting part of the article was the players complaints about the difficulty in dealing with year-round training and added games. Maybe Coach Levy with his "Club Marv" approach really was on the money after all.
  20. Thanks for posting. By my quick perusal the Bills' pick is projected all over the place - can't really call Newton the consensus. Oh, and F the *Pastie site for projecting Tryon Smith to us at 3.
  21. Thanks for the clarification, John.
  22. Nice catch. You have to wonder how anyone feels post-combine. Now, many are predicting he will fall way back into the 1st rd.
  23. I don't necessarily disagree, but there was (with Cousineau's CFL time and Kelly's USFL career) 7 years from the time the first pick was made and a resulting player hit the field in a Bills' uni. If that happened today fans would probably riot and burn the stadium down. Maybe what is most interesting is that two co-joined Number 1 picks both chose to play in inferior leagues rather than play for the Bills.
