I forgot about the trade embargo, but then it would make much more sense to keep him this year, hope for improved numbers and deal him in the off-season. I like the young guys, too, but only Stevie has proven he can handle a starting spot and that was with Lee commanding most of the double teams.

If he is traded for a pick, which is what is being rumored, it is a perfect example of the ineptitude of the front office. Why wasn't he traded pre-draft then? Nothing has changed since then - Lee hasn't been rumored to have lost a step or been accused of showing up to camp out of shape. The point being that by trading him now for a draft pick costs the team a full year with no player resulting from that transaction on the roster. By picking up the extra pick this year the player they would have received would be on the roster, going through the growing pains, and much closer to making a real impact next year. I'm not a Luck conspirator, but this deal would surely lend ammo to that "tank the season" argument.

Jenkins In - Bunkley Out in Philly The Iggles, who seem to have no salary cap, btw, have added Cullen Jenkins and cut former 1st round pick DT Brodrick Bunkley. The Bills drafted 'lil Dante 8th overall in 2006, while Bunkley went to Philly at the 14th spot. IIRC, it came out later that the Bills had Bunkley second on their board behind Whitner. Of course, me you and the rest of Bills' nation was screaming for them to take Haloti Ngata, who went to the Ravens with pick number 12. So, in essence, the team had two under-performers slotted higher than a perennial All-Pro and potential future HOFer. At least they only had to say goodbye to one of them this week.

It's it just me or does it seem that 90% of the bigger name Free Agents have all signed in the AFC East this week? I'm okay with the Bills' plan and really do think the draft and their couple of FA signings have improved the team, but, man, it sure would be nice to see guys signing in the NFC West for a change.

Isn't the word that the Bills will sign Channing Crowder? If so, it looks like it's just ILB musical chairs.

Many NFL teams are holding player-organized workouts during the lockout. Veteran QBs and RBs seem to be the ones getting their teams together and ready in lieu of formal mini-camps and workouts illegal while the labor dispute lingers. Shouldn't Fitzpatrick - fresh off of the vote of confidence the team gave him by not drafting a QB last week - be organizing the Bills? Also, if such workouts were conducted could the Bills draftees take part and could a veteran "loan" then a copy of the playbook? NFL Vets leading Workouts
