  1. Thought I saw 99 on bottom wrapping the legs
  2. Dareus made that play, but yeah resign Spikes!
  3. GO BILLS!!! Need D to dominate on the road, big ask.... Yet, I ask and hope!
  4. Gotta agree with Dragon. Dressing three TEs makes little sense and with Hairston lining up as an extra blocker, I'm not sure what they're thinking.
  5. I listened and it sounds to me like Brown is just not throwing Manny under the bus. I was at the game and Lawson cost us with two big misses in containment. Both were obvious and the guy ran right by him as he crashed inside with the fake. My goats go in order, Brown, McKelevin, Hackett and Lawson. Too many mistakes, too many poor calls...Orton should be expected not to loose games like EJ was, but to expect him to be the savior behind a marginal OL is asking too much for the journeyman QB he is. I thought the OL played pretty well and the D as a whole were lights out awesome! I had a lot of fun watching the first half when the Chefs had the ball. Great D performance wasted by too many mistakes and poor play selection. Freddy is a warrior and Watkins should get props for trying, but wasn't at full speed. Might have been better sitting him and playing Williams if Watkins can't go full tilt.
  6. Horsesh*t! 2nd and two from the three and we line up in a spread with an empty back field?! BOOOOBie all day gets us a win. 1st and ten from the 15 and we throw four passes? Don't throw the easy throws to get a 1st down and maybe break it into the EZ? Or run the frigign ball? With a journeyman QB?! WTF?! Who do you think KO's supposed to be? Rogers, Luck, Manning, ??? Get a friggin grip. This team did not loose because Orton was Orton. We lost because of bonehead mistakes and very poor play selection at critical times. Hackett is overthinking and not calling plays that match his team's talent. Hackett failed big time with his playcalling in the red zone.
  7. That is what a lot of people said last year going into the draft. Why waste high picks on non skill position personnel? OL need time to develop and sure, you can find them in later rounds if you can evaluate talent. Even then, very few in the later rounds will be athletes who can step in and play at a high level right away. I think all three of our picks last year may develop into solid lineman over time. They just weren't the answer for this year and now we're paying the price. If we follow your thinking, we are still a few years away from having a competent OL and only if these mid and late round picks develop.I'm glad your not the GM for my baseball team!
  8. Very nice write up Bandit. Some interesting points to be sure. However, watch our line play and you come away with not a simple matter of a crease here and there or a back missing a hole but rather a DL in the backfield, an OG looking like they are in a daze and blocking no one at all! No skill player short of Barry Sanders could make up for the abysmal performance of these lineman. I don't have the time or energy you have put in to make your point, so kudos to you! But look for plays where Richardson or Pears fails to block anyone at all. See the number of times DL appear in the backfield on both run and pass because they beat the Bills OL. Failure to pick up stunts or blitzes. These are the real issues with the OL! Elite line play does move the line of scrimmage forward in any level of football. It does control the line of scrimmage. It does provide a hole so that the first player the back has to make miss is a DB or at worst a LB. Watch film of our own DL last year and why they failed to stop the run. They failed to control their space because they were blocked effectively. IMO the line looks much better with the simple Urbik upgrade. Pears is no guard and needs to be replaced. Just my opinion and great thread.
  9. Damn right! I am flying up Sunday morning for this one! Go Bills!!
  10. Exactly. We win if our OL can gel into a capable unit. We have no chance if they continue to play like monkey spit.
  11. He say anything about the OL and plans for the future?
  12. Really, you are a better man than me. The 70s were too hard and I still have flashbacks to the club foot shanking a game winning FG! Gotta root for SD and hope for injuries. Not life threatening of course but... Agreed and I'll still hope for injuries on both sides! Injuries to al Qaeda can be life threatening however!
  13. I think your spot on. Levitre and Wood were both average run blockers and throw in Pears too. Over paying Levitre would have been a mistake, but not finding an average replacement was even a bigger one. Move Pears back out to RT and see how Henderson handles RG. With Urbik at LG and the other positions stable, I think we may be back to where we were at the end of last year. Not great, but not anywhere as putrid as we have played so far this year.
  14. But that's why they play the games! Kc Royals hangover and the Chefs are mauled by the Jets! Hopefully they still win but get beat up. Bills win 23-17! Go Bills!
  15. Wow, great post Simon - thanks! I would still argue that even with the best front 7 in football, you have still got to be able to run the ball and protect your QB to win the GD SB. But they can get you to the dance and then anything is possible. Thanks again!
  16. Wood needs to stay at center and can play better. Why not move Pears back out to RT where he was only the 25th worst player rather than 30th at his position? Try any of the others at RG. The experiment is over and it failed. Try another..
  17. What? I'd like to B word about that!
