  1. Shanahan was one of the few people on the planet that could have gotten that lead. Too bad Dan Quinn didn't rein him in and manage the game properly.
  2. I think the Tyrod Taylor led Bills would beat the EJ led Raiders. EJ Manuel just folds under pressure and I don't see how even the Raiders can rehab this. EJ will look good in practice or in pre-season.
  3. There are 11 starters on defense. If the Bills are elite at all the positions you mentioned I assume you think the defense will finish in the top 10 for points and yards this year?
  4. That would take a strong GM. Bills will let McDermott give Whaley his shopping list which won't include QB. Coaches don't want to play rookies.
  5. It comes down to who is in charge. If McDermott is now in charge can he resist his instincts to patch holes for the defense? Or will he go against his instincts as a coach and do what is right for the long term good of the team? Hard to see a defensive minded coach wanting to draft a QB when he needs #1 Corner, Safety, and WR #2, WR #3, etc
  6. Awesome, Another cult member from the Cult of Tyrod. Don't worry, reality will set in soon.
  7. We just have a different meaning for elite. When I use the term I think of special talents that create huge problems for the offense. You are using it to mean good or serviceable.
  8. You can be hopeful for them but they are a bunch of questions at this point. Ragland was drafted for a 3/4 defense, had questions about playing 3 downs in the draft, and suffered a serious ACL injury. Anything he does is a bonus. Shaq looked ok but showed nothing special yet.
  9. BillfromNYC is one of the best posters here. I would be careful to attack ideas you don't like and not the poster. It will just make the atmosphere here better for us all. I am sure you can find this a good home if you keep that in mind.
  10. He flashed on a few plays here and there but overall he is nowhere near as good as he was a few years ago. Still better than Washington but Bills D Line is a shell of its former self.
  11. Hughes has been very good before. Not recently. Kyle was elite, no longer. Age takes a toll. Micah Hyde elite? Solid to good Darby? No. Ragland. No and he is coming off an ACL Shaq was nothing special last year. He didn't look any better than Cleveland's 2nd rounder.
  12. Unfortunately the BBMB posters that start with attacking people and not bringing anything to the table have pushed their way in. Very distracting.
  13. I don't care who you play...
  14. Wow, that sounds reasonable. Time to start drinking as that scared me.
  15. Why would a QB responsible for all those points take a massive paycut and more future risk to his earnings?
  16. I want both Mahomes and then Kelly in a later round.
  17. Do you ever post anything on football? Or was the Mahomes can't throw a screen pass the best gem we will get from you?
  18. Wow, way to get to 22 posts. 22 posts of nothing.
  19. If your point was that you object to the phrase "make every throw" start a thread on that. Other than that you haven't really made a point other than Mahomes is entering the NFL. So no one knows how these players will turn out until they are in the NFL. Guess we should just fire the GM and scouts and wait till they take some snaps on their team. And your point that Mahomes can't throw a screen pass is even crazier, he was in an Air Raid offense. He did it a zillion times a game with touch and accuracy.
  20. You can play Frankenstein by piecing together statements from different threads but the phrase "make every throw" is a well-known scouting cliche used to evaluate prospective NFL QB's. Right now the Bills run an offense with a limited QB sheltered more than any other QB in the NFL who doesn't throw receivers open in the middle of the field. You may enjoy that but others do not. And yes, thanks for the top notch point that Mahomes is entering the draft. I never would have guessed if you hadn't mentioned it. Guess what, real NFL teams scout college QBs and try to project them to the NFL. It would be nice if Buffalo joined the rest of the NFL and tried that as well.
  21. If you can barely read sentences in front of your face then who cares what you think is credible. I aim higher.
  22. This should go in the comp picks thread.
  23. Coach McDermott said that Tyrod Taylor was the right QB for the Buffalo Bills "at this time". That is not a ringing endorsement and leaves me a little bit of hope that the Bills finally start looking for the QB that will lead our franchise back to greatness. Looking at the weak roster with tons of holes and no depth the Bills as presently put together are a 5-6 win team. The fastest way to dig out of this hole is to have 2 great drafts in 2017 and 2018 and to find the next great QB for the Bills. Mommy Mommy! What? I keep going around in circles! Shut up before I nail your other foot to the ground.
  24. I think it makes the defensive line better. But it remains to be seen how our linebackers and backfield adapts.
