  1. I think Mayock at least puts these guys in the right universe. I trust him the most on offensive line and defensive line. Mayock was a rabid JJ Watt fan. Mayock hasn't been good on QBs recently. I do think the first four will be Trubisky, Mahomes, Watson, and Kizer with a chance for Webb to jump Kizer.
  2. Many Bills fans like mediocrity. It's comfortable.
  3. It's not 2013. 2013 had no QBs with first round talent. 2017 has at least 2, maybe 3 1st round guys.
  4. Bills fans are the guy that had a bad relationship (EJ Manuel) and decide to stop dating or meeting the opposite sex.
  5. The CoT will attack all possible competition to their hero.
  6. The Air Raid offense is a spread offense comparable to the one Derek Carr ran at Fresno State. NFL teams expecting pro style QBs will never get a QB if they eliminate spread QBs like Mariota, Cam Newton, Derek Carr, and Dak Prescott.
  7. Shady is lucky to have TT. Without him he would struggle running the ball. Signed, CoT
  8. Yeah, the title of this thread invited the punch lines! Which decade would Ragland be a good 1st round pick? When Shane Conlan came out?
  9. Seymour is only starting because the Bills have found no one better. If Andre Holmes "starts" is that an achievement for Whaley also? Ragland cost THREE picks. That's terrible draft management. Listenbee has done jack squat. Washington was outplayed by several DT's taken after him. Just being on the roster does not demonstrate great drafting one year later.
  10. Sure kid. Learn to read and you can join the rest of us.
  11. Maybe you should quote someone else? I haven't excused Whaley at all. Try quoting someone else and don't put words in my mouth.
  12. Posted this before but will do so again. Derek Carr Scouting Report: Arm strength and accuracy Carr has the best arm talent of any quarterback in this 2014 NFL Draft. That may seem like a strong statement, but he proved it time and time again throughout the last two seasons. Even when his mechanics fail him, Carr can put the ball in any spot on the field with velocity, timing and accuracy. Additionally, Carr has exceptional touch and accuracy on his deep passes. Comparing Carr to Matthew Stafford or Jay Cutler is not a stretch in this department. Regardless of his arm slot, footwork or the spot on the field he's throwing to, Carr can put the appropriate velocity on the ball. He's also an accurate passer in most areas of the field. Think about the throws that are important for an NFL quarterback to make: vertical routes, throws to the sidelines and throws into tight windows. There are times when Carr's accuracy fails him, but we'll touch on that later. Fresno State's offense called for vertical passes and screens. There wasn't a ton of in-between. Carr also spent most of the time lined up in the shotgun formation. Reading defenses while dropping back is a bit of a different process. That learning curve shouldn't be steep for Carr, though, based on the habits he's shown in college. Unfortunately, it's tough to get enough of a feel for how Carr reads defenses because of his offense. He was asked to make relatively simple reads that won't necessarily translate to the NFL. Mechanics And here's where we start getting into some of the negatives to Carr's game. His mechanics, particularly in his lower body, are inconsistent at best. He often throws off of his back foot and doesn't transfer his weight properly when throwing the ball. He also lets his throwing mechanics be affected by pressure in the pocket, whether it's rushing his throw and not paying attention to his arm slot or not taking the time to focus on proper lower body mechanics. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl-mock-draft/2014/4/14/5614326/derek-carr-2014-nfl-draft-scouting-report Sounds like someone in the 2017 draft..
  13. You're using the Broncos and their #1 defense as an example the Bills should follow?
  14. When it appears there is a new sheriff in town.
  15. firedougwhaley.com is available.
  16. The Bills defense peaked in 2014. The Bills offense peaked in 2015. The 2017 Bills will have a worse roster for both defense and offense than those teams.
  17. This and hire a football guy with a long term strategic vision. Find flaws in other team's methods and inefficiencies that allow you to get better value (Patriots). Build dominance at key positions. Hit on late round picks. Get a QB czar to help evaluate position. No more deferring to coach for anything other than input of system fit.
  18. Exactly. Patching holes on a sinking ship...
  19. The whole premise that we can ignore QB is flawed because this is a QB league. But even setting aside and playing along, Whaley fails as a strong GM.
  20. Exhibit 1: Last year the Bills used THREE draft picks on an inside linebacker who had questions about whether he could play all 3 downs. Do you call that building through the draft or trying to win now for Rex's crap defense?
  21. Are you talking about the roster from 2014 or are you referring to the current Bills roster? Because the current Bills roster just won only 7 games and lost players in free agency.
  22. So, other than that, how did you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
  23. The Bills need a game changer at 10. When a potential game changer at QB is there and available you run to the podium. Drafted to be the nose tackle as the Bills were switching to a 3-4 Defense. I actually think we never will know if he would have been good or not as he had a terrible back injury that he never recovered from.
  24. Absolutely. They shoot themselves in the foot more than us.
