Tyrod Taylor is not in the discussion with quarterbacks like Stafford and Flacco. Flacco isn't great but he is good and delivered in the playoffs. Stafford regularly wins games in the 4th quarter. Tyrod Taylor has to be hidden and the Bills have to hope they are not in a close game in the 4th quarter where they need to pass the ball. Tyrod Taylor is a bottom level starter that is comparable to a Trevor Siemian.

NFL teams share their opinions about QB's with people like Mike Mayock and Mel Kiper. But they don't share everything, just little snippets. That's why you see prospects start to "rise" as pundits get more information as the draft approaches. Right now the word is getting out on Mahomes.

Greg Cosell likes Davis Webb better than Mahomes. The guy who had to transfer because he lost his job to Mahomes. Cosell is a guy that says a lot of stuff but loses the forest for the trees. For Cosell, the process is more important than the results.

Obviously Whaley was making the picks. Buddy Nix would never draft an undersized linebacker from Oregon.

Was Derek Carr garbage because he didn't go in the top ten? What about Dak Prescott? He wasn't considered a great prospect and he helped his team go to the playoffs. If your standard is you need an Andrew Luck or John Elway, you will never get a top QB. Great QB classes get guys taken in the top 1-2 picks. Do the Bills have one? Yeah, that makes sense. There is value in a player like that and 6th round or later sounds about right.

The issue is that Tyrod's inability to throw the football hurts Buffalo. When Buffalo has needed Tyrod to make plays in the passing game in the 4th quarter or in a two minute drill he has generally failed. Dak has been protected as a rookie but in big moments he has led his team to wins. The playoff game only an Aaron Rodgers playing out of his mind beat the Cowboys. If Tyrod goes against a Brady or Rodgers and does his part I will not complain.

Cleveland has been terrible but their rebuilding plan is fascinating. They have a plan and are following it. It might not work but at least they have a strategy. What is Buffalo doing? No one seems to know.

Eric, how do you not mention Dak's playoff game? Over 300 yards and 3 TD's. Tyrod Taylor in 2 years never threw for 300 yards until the Miami game in overtime.
