  1. How in the world anyone can think our secondary is better is absolutely beyond me. The WR corps....sure. We went from horrendous to ok with many saying the rookie will lead in targets.

Something is wrong with Cordy Glenn. This is a big deal.

Yes....I soured on and did not want Gilmore back. But he was just paid by the best coach in football big money to be their 1A or B corner. And we have a rookie replacing him and a bunch of nobodies.

Our LBs are trash and will still be unable to cover RBs and TEs. The schedule puts us against every elite QB not named Aaron Rodgers.

We're going to allow 30 points a game. No way our O is keeping up. And I feel like it's by design. They want a top 5 pick. 4-12 gets you there. That's where I see us.

  2. Trading Darby was the tank move.

Entirely new Secondary and WR corps.

And that secondary (LBs included) ain't covering anybody---especially considering who we face. And I like White--but not counting on a rookie CB to cover Julio, Cooks, Benjamin, Michael Thomas, Keenan, Demarious, AJ Green, Mike Evans, Amari Cooper, and TY. Good luck boys.

I see us beating the Jets twice, Miami at home, and one more. Maybe New Orleans at home bc Brees in Buffalo in November....so that's it.

    4-12. Top 5 pick.

  3. Not buying that at all.As a GM no way in hell he admits they did and Sammy told him "no." They have had to be talking extension and know exactly what Sammy wants. To believe every thing these people say. Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

    Huh?

But you just said you believed what he said about "signability", so that was true but his conversation with Watkins wasn't. I'm glad you can tell when Beane is lying or not.

Why did he keep referring to signability?

    What was he implying?

  4. Beane used the word "signability" twice when asked twice about what went into his thinking on trading Sammy. Sammy wasn't resigning here or we didn't think he would be worth the money some team will throw at him. Jordan Matthews ain't chopped liver people. Our WR corps is still 10 times better then last year. AND we now bc it's the Rams and that 2nd round pick is likely to be in the 33-39 range will have FOUR picks in the top 40. And if it unravels badly for us and KC (who I think is heading toward 6-10) we could have TWO picks in the TOP 15. So yes. I'm good.Sent from my SM-G928V using Tapatalk

He actually said he hadn't had a conversation with him about his future in Buffalo and if he wanted to be here.

So following what you think happened, Beane made the decision that he didn't want to be here without actually asking the player.

    Genius.

    Not buying that at all.

  6. The kids who aren't playing likely had zero future in college football.

This game is going nowhere. And that's good. It's the greatest game God ever created.

I played in high school but not youth league.

I've been a high school coach from 2002-2011. I stopped as my kids got older. Now my 8 year old is in his first year of tackle. I'm coaching his team.

Kids at this age are barely hitting each other. Yes they're some strong physical ones but you match them up with their equals. I can say that 80 percent of the kids playing youth league are taking minimal shots to the head. They don't know what they're doing yet. Violent is not even close to how these 8 and 9 year old youth football age kids play. I've been around it for 5 plus years now. Only concern I have is that my 2 boys just get good coaches (which is why I wanted to coach their first years of tackle.) My oldest is now with the 12 and 13 year olds and he'll be playing middle school ball next fall. Both just love the game. And that's all I love to see.

I remain far more concerned about knee or ankle or spinal injuries then head trauma. If they get to college and beyond its something to consider. Not in high school or youth league.

To each their own and if you are concerned about safety then you do you. The most serious injury at my high school 2 years ago was a soccer player who got hit so hard to the ground he suffered a serious brain injury and was medivacked to the a local trauma center.

The game is being coached differently. We're not telling the kids to make contact with their face mask anymore....we're teaching how to use the shoulder and get the head out of the way (eyes to thighs). We're hitting less (no reason "bull in the ring" i.e. the "here's your concussion drill" should ever be played. They get proper rest between practices and we limit real deal contact.

There are other ways to train and prepare without hitting all 2 hours of practice. That doesn't mean the game is finished. No way.

And boxing is not dead. It's corrupt as hell and the kids all gravitated to MMA. Which is far more brutal.

  7. If Sammy plays all 16 games fully healthy I'm guaranteeing he finishes as a top 10 borderline top 5 WR.

    Why?

    No. 1. He's awesome.

No. 2. We're going to be allowing around 30 points a game and will need to throw.

No. 3. Our other WRs are trash and Zay Jones is a rookie.

No. 4. In Dennison's O, he finds ways to feed and feed his no. 1 WR

In my fantasy league...ppr...i have him personally ranked 6. Thinking 95 catches, 1300 yards, 10 TDs.

    1. AB

    2. Evans

    3. OBJ

    4. Julio

    5. Michael Thomas

    6. Sammy

    7. Jordy

    8. Dez (But I hate their schedule...not sure here)

    9. Pryor (yep)

    10. Hopkins

He's just got to stay healthy. Because everything is lining up for a monster breakout from him imo.

  8. At New England opening night.

Getting pummeled and Alex Smith throwing 4 picks to Malcolm Butler and future hall of famer Stephon Gilmore is going to make for a great opener.

The "start Mahomes" talk will begin the next day.

  9. My father in law is trying to convince me to get a 150 dollar slingbox (?)

Basically via the internet I hook it up to my say parents cable box in Buffalo and sync it somehow thru my TV. I can then watch and even control what they watch on that specific receiver at my home here in Virginia....so all the Bills games.

Is this possible? Is the stream quality good?

  10. The head football coach at the high school I work at is from Western PA and knows and has talked with the head man at Pitt, Narduzzi.

So I asked him what he thought of Peterman. He said he thinks the reason why the Bills liked him (and with good reason) above anything else, was because he essentially learned 3 different systems in college and caught on quick. From Tennesse to Jim Chaney at Pitt and then Matt Canada, his ability to grasp the schemes stood out.

They think his smarts with his skill set can translate over.

Jesus Christ, can we pump the breaks on Sam Darnold being the next Brady for a minute?

    No.

Not while the city is hyperventilating about the possible signing of a 29 year old WR that just got released and will be playing for his 3rd team.

Not while I'm watching everyone applaud how brilliant trading down was and passing on a QB Andy Reid is trading first round picks for.

So.....no....Im buying the hype of next years QB class more than pretty much anything we're doing to try to compete against a team no one is beating.

I'm going into this season hopeful....as always. If by week 5 Tyrod looks like 2016 Tyrod, play Peterman and move on.

  12. ..McCown is the human tank: His teams have a a .353 winning percentage (a 79–145 record) over 14 NFL seasons, and the last two teams he started for both came away with the no. 1 pick in the following spring’s draft. As the Jets spent the offseason shedding veteran after veteran, they made clear that their goal in 2017, presumably, is to finish with the worst record in the league and then draft USC’s Sam Darnoldor whoever wrestles the top-signal-caller belt from him in the fall. Starting McCown (or Christian Hackenberg or Bryce Petty, both of whom are reportedly being roundly outplayed by McCown at OTAs) should only further that objective....

We swapped pick # 9 with the Browns (where Minnesota selected Anthony Barr). The Browns then traded up to 8 for pick 9 and a 5th rounder to select Gilbert.

  15. If we're tanking for a top 5 pick trading Sammy virtually guarantees that happens.

Since I'd only take a first, who might do that? I think there's only 3 teams.

Seattle. Perfect compliment to Baldwin and Graham.

Arizona. Fitz is almost done. John Brown has health issues. And JJ Nelson is not even a no.3 WR. This teams window is closing fast.

Dallas. Dez's numbers are falling off and unless you think Beasley and a 57 year old Witten are legit number 2s....I think they could be a possibility.

I'm not saying I'd do this. Merely considering what teams would actually give up a no. 1. I can't see any other team dealing. Because most would feel there's a good chance it's a top 15 pick and they won't do that for Sammy. Those 3 teams can justify it.

  16. The Graham trade ruined this team. Not necessarily bc of Graham...who took long enough to make an impact. But nowhere near justifying his salary. His salary, Wilson's, and the guys they paid on D have left holes in places like oline.

And none bigger then losing Unger---that was a big deal. Plus a first round pick.

Sherman can't come out and say that tho.

  17. The next big elite QB is Derek Carr. Drafted in the 2nd round.

From the list of QBs drafted since 2010, IMO he's the cream of a thin crop. The 2000 teens have been very uninspiring so far.

    Carr

    Cam

    Luck

    Marriota

    Jameis

    Dalton?

    Cousins?

    Everyone else is meh.

We're well over due on getting a new wave of elite QBs like we saw 2000--2009.

  18. Common link with most elite QBs: great offensive coaches

Mahomes going to KC increases his chances of being good.

    Mahomes to Buffalo...the opposite IMO.

I don't just want the next great QB. I want my own tree of great offensive minds here. BB in NE best moves have been to keep a great tree of OCs from Weiss to O'Brien to McDaniel.

That's the key. But we can't get great offensive minds here bc the QB situation has stunk. All our coaches in the drought (except for 1) have been defensive guys who's choices for OC have been terrible (Lynn might be the exception and he's now a HC).

That one? Gailey. Who was a retread but still made Fitz a ton of money and made our team somewhat fun again. But no successor worth a damn.

So yes, if you're wondering I'm not thrilled with McD as HC but only bc I'm skeptical of his offensive staff.

Edit: Mularkey as well. And he had success in year 1 (Football Outsiders ranks that team as the best to not make the playoffs since it began tracking in the early 90s). And his OC was Tom Clements who went to Green Bay as QB coach.
