  1. One game at a time.

Hear a lot folks already looking forward to week 4.

McD's job now and I'm confident he will do it is keep these guys focused on the jobs in front of them including getting better at practice (we're nowhere near playing as well as we're capable and that is exciting) and to understand every week in the NFL is like a new season.

I'm enjoying looking forward to games in ways I haven't felt since the early 90s.  I'm like a kid again watching this team.

I feel like this play led to the current popularity of no veteran of significance playing in preseason games.

Was he by any chance responding to what happened to Allen vs the Jets....that ridiculous attempt to roll him up?

Anyone in the Cleveland media show that?  I'm sure someone tweeted it in the replies.

I don't think people realize how big a deal this is today.

Jets fans and their media that covers them get to sit around and now question if they mistakenly traded up and whether or not they took the "right" Josh.

Sam Darnold failure in massive Jets spot really stings

Sam Darnold had the ball and the game in his hands, exactly what Adam Gase wanted, exactly what MetLife Stadium wanted, exactly what he himself wanted.

These are the times when you define yourself as a franchise quarterback, when you are having a bad day at the office and then you choke off a colossal choke and go win the game at the end and get everyone talking about that second-year leap you are poised to make.

And so an entire stadium pleaded:

    Go win it, Sam.

    And Sam couldn’t, Sam didn’t.....

3 – Offensive Line – I don’t even know what to say about these guys, but I think it’s relevant to talk about them since it was such a focus of the offseason.  The first Allen fumble was completely on Dawkins as he got absolutely smoked, leading to a clean, blindside hit on Allen.  Morse botched the snap on 4th and 2, even though Williams was on him immediately.  Other than that, Allen had a relatively clean pocket.  Now, there’s two points of context here.  The Jets front 4 seemed more concerned with not letting Allen scramble than they did rushing him.  Plus, our offensive scheme was too transparent.  We were either in power run formation or spread out.  There wasn’t a healthy mix of pass and rush to really get them into an overall rhythm.  They did have some strong pull plays in the last quarter to open some holes for Singletary.  Overall, I’d say there was an improvement from this unit, but again, bad game to judge them off of.

*Side Note – Ty finished the game at RT and I completely missed how that happened.  Anyone?  (McD said in the post game that they rotated him in every 3rd series and that was the plan.  Interesting)

Unsung hero of the game was Mitch Morse.  We usually have all kinds of problems with the Jets front 7.  Now they have their new toy Williams and outside of the play he blew up on 4th down.......he was silent as was most of their D-line.  Oline overall was great in pass pro.  Morse especially.  The guy was pulling and kicking out leading plays the announcers made notice of this to.

In fact the only pass I saw Morse get beat on.....watch the game winning TD again.  Not sure who it was but he gets in to disrupt Josh just a bit but Allen just steps up and hits Brown for the TD.

Hostile environment.  Dead to rights.  Overcame the TO's (I put only ONE on Josh he was just fine early on considering we wanted him to literally do everything).  The critics will point those out as more evidence that he's not good or whatever nonsense........ but most honestly watching has to see Josh passes the eye test.  Without question.  We'll have to live with the turnovers because he gambles he takes chances----he's STILL RAW.  But he's a gamer and a dog.  Period.

    Just a great great win.
