Gabbert was the year before with Cam Newton wasn't he? As far as Locker and Ponder I didn't like them at all. I see totally different qbs in the top 4 this year with Allen being a bit of a project but with really high upside. We've tried the whole draft bpa and bring in a serviceable vet. It got us one playoff appearance in 20 years.
The next generation all were though. Wentz, Goff, Luck, Ryan, Stafford, Mariota, Winston. I get that it's risky but sometimes you just have to take the chance.
Can't believe we got the 65th pick for Tyrod. Great job Beane. This makes me nervous though that we will trade for Foles. Good luck in Cleveland Tyrod.
And then he ran in the 4.4s at the combine. I remember the knock being his attitude. Seems like that's still a bit of an issue. He was the wr I wanted in that draft.
I can see it both ways. I think you can plug holes in free agency though. Bottom line is you need to bring in the right people. I just feel that when you have a solid team with no Qb you get what we've had for the last 5 years or so.
I think they will take whomever they consider to be the top Qb and not wait to see who's still available at 4. At least IMO that's what they should do. I don't see McCarron as the answer and I really didn't see many positives from Kizer this past season, though I only watched him a cpl times. Who knows though. It is the Browns.
It's not unheard of for qbs to get hot in the playoffs. We've been victims of this twice in Superbowl's. I think you've got to look at his career so far and what I see is an upper tier back up Qb. I really hope we don't give up draft picks.
I've said in other threads that I feel he gets happy feet in the pocket. Not sure if it's height related or just pocket awareness. But he's shown enough that he's going to be picked in the top 10. IMO
Darius Slay. I remember him running and Mayock saying he needed to go back and watch him some more. His teammate at Mississippi State was supposed to be the better db. He's had a really nice career so far.
I think we make a move with Indy. Browns will take a Qb and Giants will take Barkley. I just don't think there is a ton of top talent in the draft this year and it will motivate the Bills to make a trade. Not to mention what is looking to be a really weak class for qbs next year.
If I'm Kyle I wait to see what happens with the team. Mainly the Qb position. I don't think it would be crazy if he wanted to play for a contender for a season.
