Schefter says decision is made - Tyrod is gone
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not buying that this decision has been made. But, If we assume it is true for a second, it means rebuild in my mind. And, that it will be a rookie, not a FA like TT. When I say rookie, that could well mean Cardale Jones competes with a first round pick. What I think some people are missing is that they assume Whaley is gone after 1 year. If it is a rebuld, with a NEW HC, NEW QB, NEW DC etc. I'm not so sure he is gone. There will certainly be plenty of reasons/excuses to some why he should continue. The bar will be pretty low, all the Pegulas need to believe is Doug got the chance to pick his guys and we're heading in the right direction. Having said that I go back to my original comment, I don't buy that the decisions been made. The comment about "we are close", make no sense if that is the case. The fly in the ointment to this theory is the Bills have a trade in mind like Rivers or something. That would change everything. -

Rebuild Job or Not?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes I tend to lean in that direction. I'm starting to the think a simple make Lynn HC, hopefully brings Bradley and Tyrod back, Kromer to OC and probably draft the best safety we can. That seems to provide a fair amount of continuity too. -

My bad. I was using my line of thinking in that he is not gone after 1 year. -

Rebuild Job or Not?
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is an argument in favor of Lynn being made full time HC. He is most familiar with situation and would just need to promote someone like Kromer to OC and bring in Gus Bradley to be DC. The amount of noise the media is throwing out is really causing me to read between the lines. And, I'm just not confident. -

I'd be good with Kromer to OC and Bradley to DC. Russ has it bugged obviously and is planning on this.- VIC CARUCCI reports -

Rebuild Job or Not?

It sounds like you think Whaley could have a new lease on life too, and he is not going to a one and done. Barring more porn piotures that is. -

Rebuild Job or Not?

That's what I hope as well. Not sure I'm convinced yet though. -
Not saying I think we should do this or not. Reading the tea leaves, Jim Kelly comments about Tyrod Taylor indicate he's not coming back. Jim is employed by PSE and I don't think he would have come on a strong as he did without reason. Pegula saying maybe he can win more games. And, Whaley doesn't sound like he's a supporter either. Where is the support? Having said that, this is starting to look more and more to me like a rebuild. I know Whaley said 7-9, not good enough, and we're close. My question is if Whaley brings in someone other than A Lynn, can it be considered anything other than a rebuild? Bringing in a new HC, likely inexperienced or unsuccessful before, and him bringing in his own QB either by draft, trade or FA is very unlikely to yield positive results for awhile. When you combine this with our defense needing to be fixed, it could be that Whaley has his new lease on life. If we are 4-12 next year it will be with perhaps a rookie coach and QB and I can hear the we like the direction were headed it takes time in this scenario. I'm torn about whether this has any merit? Maybe at the end of the day it ends up Lynn, Taylor and a new DC trying to get into the playoffs. I'm curious what you thoughtful posters out there think?

Jim Kelly on espn about our situation 1/4

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000769829/article/jim-kelly-tyrod-taylor-is-not-answer-for-bills-at-qb If he is on the payroll and I have no reason to doubt it. Generating this type of headline and story means one of 2 things. The Bills org is likely done with Taylor unless the incoming coach makes a strong pitch for him, or Jim went rogue and it caused more damage. -

Best Case/Worst Case
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower replied to Dorkington's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Best case- Tyrod is back and continues what he started at the end of the year with a healthy Watkins, McCoy, Clay and first round pick Mike Williams, Gilmore resigned, we draft Budda Baker to play S in the second rd., and we get a DC who is able to get us back to respectability against the run and keep people out of the EZ Worst case- Tyrod leaves and makes the playoffs, Gilmore leaves, Kyle retires, and the new coach is unable to improve our defensive perfomance, meanwhile the offense collapses with another Sammy injury -

Absolutely, total group think. Sit around and convince each other of the same thing and toe the party line. This guy seems to be a little different, he gets it. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/1/4/14165622/nfl-head-coach-openings-bills-where-does-buffalo-rank -

I have no problem with taking the organization to task when they deserve it. I've done it myself. But, it cuts both ways, you should give credit when it is due. This is entertainment and I assume many others come on here for info and a little lively debate. Sometimes we're right and sometimes we're wrong. What I can't understand is the same crew that comes on day after day, month after month, and are beyond negative about everything Buffalo Bills. News flash: It's making you miserable to be a supposed Bills fan. You should find something you enjoy to do.
