HA! Yeah. Look, I get wanting to run the ball. And we definitely should run the ball a handful of times per game. But as long as you do it once in a great while, play action works and we are at our best when we are using play action, motion, jet action, and a whole bunch of eye-candy and letting Allen throw lasers all over the place. Yesterday seemed like they wanted to win by doing the exact opposite of what we have been doing in blowing teams out the last couple months. It was just a terrible game plan all around yesterday, but luckily we got away with it.

Thought is was the amount of downs we wasted by trying to run the ball when we know we can't.

I'm not big into hoping for certain teams......unless it was to play Tua and the Dolphins. It may sound dumb and a little superstitious, but that whole "be careful what you wish for" thing can really come back and but you sometime. So, for me, it has been whatever happens, happens. Whoever we end up having to play is who it is. No preference. We're trying to win the Super Bowl. There is no easy way to do that. We're going to have to beat very good teams to do it. I may feel this way because i honestly believe we are good enough to beat anyone. Not that we are unbeatable by any means, but if we play our best football, I think we can beat any team. My biggest fear is a COVID outbreak to the wrong players or us getting in our own way. We saw yesterday that this coaching staff still can come up with ways to slow our own team down. We were blowing out teams for weeks using a ton of play action, motion, jet sweep action, eye-candy, etc. All of a sudden, that stuff wass nowhere to be found and we decided we need to run the ball WAY more than we should have. Not really sure what the heck this staff was thinking. Every running play we had, you could just hear the Clots thanking us because they knew that the only way they could win was to take the air out of the ball and make it a running game. We all knew they were going to try to do it, but why we did it to ourselves I will never understand. Josh completed 74% of his passes, even with multiple drops by our best receivers and was throwing the ball to every area on the field. And, for whatever reason, they just decided to waste multiple downs trying to get a couple yards on a run play. Just when I thought this staff finally had it figured out that the best way to win games is to let Josh Allen throw the ball all over the field, picking his 2-3 spots to take off, and just let Allen be the MVP we know he is, they changed everything that had been successful for us the last 2 months. They better have learned that that stuff isn't going to work for this team. We are going as far as Allen can take us. So, use the play action, the motion, all the eye-candy, and let Allen throw laser beams all over the field. If we lose because after winning 13 games during the season be being aggressive all of a sudden the coaches decide running the ball and balance is a better way to go, I just don't know what we'll do. I can live with losing to a team that actually plays better than we do. But if we do lose, we better go down swinging with what got us here in the first place and not some conservative game plan. So, who do we want to play? It doesn't matter. Just don't beat ourselves trying to overthink things.

If he felt like this, then he did the exact opposite of what he should have done. If you fell like your defense is playing well, you go for it every time. Heck, even if they're not, you go for it. I don't get voluntarily turning the ball over when you are on the opponents 40 and in. Unless it's like 4th and 20, or you don't have confidence in your kicker to hit a long one when it's 4th and 10 or more, there is no way any team should punt from that position on the field unless you are up multiple scores with 2 minutes or less in the game. I am just glad McDermott seems to have figured this out. Not sure there has been more than a couple times all year I have really been too upset with him for not going for it when I think he should have. Hopefully he stays on the aggressive side of things from here on out.

Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm

The more I think about and break this game down, I think our success comes down to 2 things: 1. The Offensive Line - If the offensive line can keep Allen clean and give him time to throw, then the offense will roll. The only times Allen has remotely struggled this season is when teams are able to get to him extremely fast. Luckily, thanks to our O-line, this hasn't happened all that often, or when it has, adjustments have been made and the rush inevitably slows down and Allen goes to work. If the line can keep Allen clean, our offense should be just fine. 2. Early Game Defense - This kind of goes hand in hand with the point above. If we can get a few early 3 and outs, and we can get up early, then we should be fine. There are a lot of people out there saying that the Colts are just going to take the air out of the ball and pound it and try to win this game with timely scores and time of possession. They want to use their great run game and passes to the backs out of the backfield to go on long drives and keep Allen off the field. Well, the best way to counter this and get them out of this plan is to get up early. If the defense can get 2-3 quick 3 and outs and the offense does their job as I mentioned above, and we can get an early 10-14 point lead, this game could be over real quick. I really believe if these 2 things happen, we have a chance to roll in this game. I don't think the Colts are good enough on the back end to slow down our passing game, and, if we get up early, I don't think they can go toe to toe with our offense. So, get up a couple scores early, and it will change the entire game. I know the narrative out there is that Josh still hasn't done it in the Playoffs and, no matter how good he is, until he proves it in the Playoffs, you can't count on him. I think this is a bunch of garbage, personally. I have 0 concerns about Allen. Where he has struggled most in the past is decision making. This year, especially since the bye week, he has proven to have all the answers no matter what defense you are running. He can obliterate man coverage and, while he struggled a little bit with zone early in the season, has proven that he can beat zone coverage for big plays anywhere on the field, especially since the Bye week. There is not a scheme you can run right now that is going to confuse him. The mental side has caught up with his physical ability and that is why he is so scary right now. Even if it takes a series or 2 to figure defense out, as soon as he does, he just torches them no matter whether it is man, zone, or a combination. That is why above I mentioned that this game comes down to the offensive line. They do their job and give Allen time to see the coverage, I have no doubt that Allen will figure out where to go with the ball. And with his arm, even if it takes him a half second longer to do that, he can just fire laser beams that make up for that processing time. It's what makes him so dangerous. Anyway, I know this has gotten lengthy, but if those 2 things I mentioned happen above and we get out early, it could be a big party tomorrow. If not, in the end, hopefully we find a way to squeak one out. But, I think this team is on a mission and they have somersetting to prove. Hopefully they step on the gas and never let up. -
First off, let me say I have no idea who this clown is. Never even heard his name until a few weeks ago when all this trash started. You do realize that anyone bashing Allen, particularly this year, just looks like a complete ignorant fool, right? No need to get bothered by someone that everyone knows is an idiot.

Dion Dawkins: A Letter to Bills Mafia, Part II
sven233 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For the first time in a VERY long time, I think this team, these players, understand just how important and meaningful it would be to bring a Championship to this city. They are realizing that while it may be "just a game" that isn't the case around here. It's something much bigger. They as players are starting to feel that a Championship is not just a Championship. It's not just some goal to have at the beginning of a season. It's bigger than that here. It always has been that way for us fans, but too many times I don't think players have understood that. Sure, they want to win. Who doesn't? But for many players, it's a goal to have. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, well, they made their money, or they are a free agent and it is on the the next city where they will have the same goal to win a Championship. If they don't, they don't. This team though......I don't feel that way at all. I really, truly believe that they want a Championship, not just as a goal, but they want it for this city. Yeah, they want it for themselves for sure, but they want it for US. They want it for Buffalo. They don't want it because it's just the next stop on their way through their NFL careers, but they want it because this is THE spot to do it in. It's a hard thing to describe and I think you only truly understand it if you're here and know the area. Some make fun of the trips to the airport by fans. But you know what? Players do not see that anywhere but here. Especially in a year like this one where we can't be there every day. It would be very easy for the players to become a little disconnected at times. But those moments at 1:30 in the morning in the freezing cold this fan base finds ways to remind the players that even though we're not in the stadium and not around the team as much as usual, that we are still very much here and we are behind them as much as we always are. Make no mistake about it. The players feel this. It means something. And like I said above, I truly believe that for the first time in a VERY long time, they understand how much the team, and what bringing a Championship to THIS AREA, would actually mean. I don't know it it will happen or not. But I know that if it doesn't, it's not going to be because they didn't want it enough or that they wouldn't have put in the work. There is no doubt in my mind that no matter how this season ends, the team will have left it all on the field. Hopefully, in the end, that will be enough to bring a Super Bowl Championship to Buffalo in a few weeks. GO BILLS!!!! -

I see a lot of people upset by the 1pm Saturday slot. I actually don't mind it at all. It's the first Playoff game. Everyone will be watching. We go out there and play some of our best ball and we win big, we make an early statement to the rest of the league. We put a beat-down on the Colts and everyone the rest of the weekend will be comparing other teams to us. So yeah. Give me the first game. Go out, put a whoopin' on the Colts, and make a statement that can't be ignored in the other games. All of a sudden you'll hear all about who has the unenviable task of coming to Buffalo in Round 2. -

One of our biggest challenges for this game (and every game we play from here on out) will be going in healthy. The same can be said for every team though. Unfortunately, a COVID case to the wrong guy can end your season in a hurry. Have to stay healthy and, if we do, I do like our chances to move on for sure. -
But you said we could finish in the 4 spot. That wasn't right. Was just putting out the correct info.

With tonight's win we are guaranteed no lower than the 3 seed...... Can't finish below that no matter what happens.
