  1. This was one of my thoughts going into the week. While I am not sure it should be our base defense for the game, I think we should up the pressure on Mahomes more than we have in the past. Honestly, outside of Kelce and Rice, I don't find their other pass catchers overly dangerous. Punkchecko is a worry for sure, but I think I am sending waves at Mahomes. I'm using simulated pressures and delayed blitzes at times. Send the initial rush, use a spy that can convert to a rusher anytime he sees Mahomes trying to escape the pocket. My hope is that by sending the waves is that even if they hand it off, the 2nd wave will be able to stop the run. Limit Mahomes movement in the pocket. He will turn his back towards the defense today looking for a way to escape. He does it all the time. Make him pay. In the past, you didn't want to send extra pressure because you feared getting beat down the field with Hill. He's not there anymore. Trust your CBs to lock up the outside WRs for 4 seconds while bracketing Kelce and make sure you get home. Again, not doing this every down necessarily, but there are definitely situations in longer down and distances to do it.
  2. Man, listening to all these talking heads, we may as well not even play this game tomorrow. They have already crowned the Ravens Champs.
  3. Obviously, this all means nothing without a win tomorrow, but while I think it will be a very difficult matchup for us to win on the road, I certainly wouldn't say there is no chance. We will be underdogs for sure, but I don't think that is a bad thing for this team at all. Even though we are favored by a bit tomorrow, it sure doesn't feel that way when you listen to everyone talk. But regardless, I think if we are blessed enough to beat the Chiefs, we can use our personnel to negate some of what the Ravens like to do on defense. I think our TEs might force them to not blitz quite as much because I think we can use them to stretch the field a bit forcing guys like Hamilton and Queen to play more coverage down the field than they might like to. But, that game plan is for another day. Tomorrow is stressful enough as it is. Don't need to think about how to beat the Ravens right now, but this was an initial thought.
  4. I am rooting for the Bills. If we win, what will be, will be. Both the Ravens and Texans have their strengths and weaknesses and will offer a unique challenge either way. I have always subscribed to the phrase "be careful what you wish for" so I will not have a rooting interest either way. My focus is on beating the Chiefs and, if we are blessed to do so, we'll get ready for next week when the time is right.
  5. It's going to come down to the defensive line in general. They haven't been getting pressure at the rater they were earlier in the season, but they have to get it done on Sunday. Not only in pressure packages, but they need to contain Mahomes and limit his running around in the pocket. Leave him no outs and get the arms up. Don't let him buy 5-7 seconds to find a guy open and don't let him make you look stupid. Most of his mistakes happen when you keep him in the pocket and have him force a ball late when he's about to go down. Make no mistake about it.....Mahomes will throw up a couple of prayers on Sunday. He does it all the time, but gets very lucky that more passes aren't picked off. So, make him pay. Force his luck to run out. Turn him over. As for the offensive side of the ball, it's going to be on Cook to make plays. The Chiefs always do everything they can to take Diggs out of the game and I don't expect that to change Sunday. Their corners will blatantly hold the entire game and make no mistake about it......they will get away with it. So, it's going to be on Cook and Kincaid to do work against their LBs and to keep the chains moving. Knox, and all of our other pass catchers for that matter, can't drop the easy ones this week. Last week Knox dropped an easy big play coming out of the half and killed that drive. We can't have those "shoot yourself in the foot" moments this week. Make the plays that are there to be made.
  6. Had a terrible nightmare that we were getting absolutely rolled. Woke up, too a deep breath, and was relieved it was a dream. I very rarely dream about the upcoming games, but this one was there. We may lose, but I don't see us just rolling over in the process. But man, I was glad to wake up from that one. I think this one just means more than most. Sure, we win this one and next week becomes the biggest game we have had in years.....even bigger than the AFC Championship game a few years ago. Going into that game, I knew we were the underdogs and probably not quite ready for that one. This year is different. I firmly believe if we play our best football, we can beat anyone. But I also believe that we can shoot ourselves in the foot and beat ourselves either through our play or bad coaching decisions at any point and time. I think we definitely can win this week, but the confidence level isn't nearly as high as it was going into last week. Until they beat this team when it matters most, it will remain to be seen.
  7. I have no idea if we are going to win or not. If you would have asked me before yesterday's game with all the injuries that came out of it, I would have probably picked us to win. Now, after all the guys that went down, and with all the guys that were already out, I just have no idea what is going to happen in this game. I think we can win. But I can also see a scenario where the injuries just end up being too much and they just keep killing us in the middle of the field with both the run and pass game and we can't keep up. McDermott will need to coach his best game and Allen will have to be A+ to win. It's not going to be easy at all. But, while I can't really pick a winner, here's my bold prediction for the week....... Von makes an impact play. Maybe two. He hasn't had the production, but the last couple of weeks I have seen some flashes from him that weren't there in prior games. I am not saying he will be a dominant force by any means, but I just have a feeling he will make a play or two.
  8. We all remember just how much Mahomes, Reid, and the rest of the Chiefs were crying about a legit call at the end of the last game. It was embarrassing on so many levels and an insult to Allen and the entire team. I hope Allen runs that post game "handshake" through his head all week. This week, and especially next Sunday, the mantra should be "LEAVE NO DOUBT!" Go Bills!
  9. Allen should win MVP. We'd have like 4-5 wins at most without him. He won't win it, but he should. Just need him to win Super Bowl MVP and we'll all be good with that.
  10. Ah....he's worth more than that. I think they should give him 60+ over the next 10 years.
  11. Everyone except the FG unit...... Just an atrocious unit right now.
  12. While it would be nice to have him active for depth in case someone gets hurt, he should be nothing more than the 4th WR on this team. The offense is just more efficient without him.
  13. And we continue to live rent free in their heads as we have for years. All 6 Fin fans would give both their nuts to have Allen as their QB..... But alas, they have no nuts to give. GO BILLS!!!
  14. Tim Graham @ByTimGraham Bills CB Rasul Douglas told me in the locker room he felt he was ready to play, but the team held him out. Douglas then said he'll play next week against the Chiefs.

  16. Hoping Josh just keeps replaying that last "handshake" in his mind. Mahomes acting like a complete crybaby and not giving Allen his due was embarrassing. This week the team has to be about one thing....... LEAVE NO DOUBT. This is not only about exercising past demons, but making a statement to the world that we are not the little brother anymore.
  17. Whelp.....I was fairly confident we would win today. I was fairly confident we would beat the Chiefs next week until all the injuries popped up today. Now, who knows who will even be available to play next week. Frustrating game today with the injuries but it's all about surviving. Going to have to find a way to get it done. Praying for most of these guys to get healthy enough to play. Great team win. They all get game balls in my eyes (except for the special teams FG unit. They were a disaster. Fix it!!!). 3 MORE! GO BILLS!!!!!
  18. Von has actually shown a couple good things on this series....

  20. They are going to pick it up..... It should be holding.....
  21. Need at least a 6 minute drive that ends in points to push it to 2 scores. That said, we'll probably turn it over or go 3 and out.
