Yes we do. So does every team in the NFL. Indeed the trend even this year is towards more zone and further away from man. Going into this week the highest man % in the league is the Lions at 46%. Jags are second at 42%. Everyone else is below 40. EDIT: in interests of transparency think the Bills are 29th in man % with 19%. Buccs, Colts, Bears are lower. Then Chargers and Packers 1% above us at 20%.

They have been running lots of cover 1 man and cover 3 with a mix of man and zone concepts the past 3 weeks. They have been blitzing more too. People also need to recognise the difference between zone coverage and what is properly called "soft zone." They have had some issues in zone coverage looks (whether standard or soft) but their numbers in man are worse. And yet every time something bad happens it is greeted with "that blasted zone coverage!" It isn't the fundamentals of the scheme that are the problem. It's the way they are calling it and executing it that is the issue.

I didn't love it tonight. The 3rd down thing is an issue. Bend and don't brake when younare keeping opponents to mid 30% 3rd down conversion as under McD and Frazier is one thing. When youbare allowing mid 40s as we are under Babich its another. He needs to get better.

Not played well at all. Defense there is a mix of coaching and execution. It looks more like execution on O but gotta get it tidied up

It really hasn't though. They have been consistently high performing 3rd down defense. This is first year they have been bottom half of the league.

I don't disgaree. 3rd down defense has been a legitimate weakness all year.

We are so bad on 3rd down D. It is way worse than any Frazier year or McD last year. That has gotta be on Babich. We are gonna be like 6 plus percentage points worse than our average through 7 seasons.

New England are sitting off so it isn't the worst plan. We just executed a couple terribly there and they killed the drive.

He should be down at the 1. So if I choose to see that as a punt it was a good one.
