Brock Osweiler: Six Foot Eight and Not So Great
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Can you imagine how good he would be. He could see over everyone. And instead of throwing the ball, he could just reach over the line and hand it to receivers. Superbowl! -
Watch Rex really close. I think he has been already told.
PolishDave replied to Iraq Vet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's entirely possible he might, especially against New England where Preston Brown usually gets torched badly. I hope. I hope. I hope. I hope. etc... -
Curious re passing statistics
PolishDave replied to tbonehawaii's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, but you are one of the very few people on this board who realizes this and openly admits it. Most people here put 99% of blame of low passing production on Tyrod while ignoring every single other factor. Meanwhile ESPN, who has no dog in this fight, has him ranked 12th overall. -
It depends on whether Rex is here or not. If Rex is here and the Bills intend to be a run first offense again, then I think your best choice is to resign Tyrod ideally to a newly negotiated contract. If Rex is gone, go draft a pocket passer and let him compete with Cardale for the starting position. Unfortunately if you go that second route, chances are the Bills are going to truly suck beyond words next year. And we will likely be stuck with 3-5 years of suckitude until maybe they make another playoff run. And if you are going to blow it up, then you may as well get rid of Dareus too. And make sure the door hits him in the ass on the way out.

Lose the lip ring. Put on some makeup. Visit a salon and get her hair done. Then yes - probably really hot. Oh - and she is Polish! whoohoo! Nice bonus. Means she's good in bed.

Brock Osweiler: Six Foot Eight and Not So Great
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't believe it. The guy is pretty tall. He should be unstoppable at QB. If only we had a tall QB. Trade for Brock = Superbowl? -
Watch, Elway will find a QB
PolishDave replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, okay. Not even close when considering pass protection. They left side of the line is decent (still better at running than pass protection). The right side of the line flat out sucks. Top 5-10 my ass. healthy or not. -
Doug Whaley - The Tim Graham Feature Story
PolishDave replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're exactly right. And also, the Bills have been mediocre for a long time which would pressure a GM to want to patch a hole with a free agent guy for a year while they try to make a run at the playoffs rather than waiting to draft a guy. I think the fact that the Bills have so many free agents on their roster (and the fact that those guys usually perform very well when brought it) is proof that Whaley does indeed have an eye for talent. He evaluates talent quite well in my opinion. The entire article is basically bunk based on nothing. I can't believe people think there is any real substance in that article at all. I guess you read into it what you want to read into it. -
Watch, Elway will find a QB
PolishDave replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True. I only watched a couple games. And in those games Siemian was less than impressive. I'm sure they have plenty of areas that need improvement based on their record. Side Note: On this forum you can't blame receivers for dropping balls. It is ALWAYS the quarterbacks's fault for not placing the ball better and that includes passes the receivers catch but don't run for touchdowns. That is what we have been led to believe here. -

PolishDave replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is fair to say the Broncos are a QB away from winning a Superbowl. Based on history anyway. But yeah, Siemian, he is awesome man. = sarcasm -

What does that have to do with their offensive line? -

Bills fans would be saying the same thing if we had Siemian playing QB here behind our existing offensive line. -
Adam Schefter: Rex Ryan to be fired end of season
PolishDave replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think the Schefter report guarantees anything. IF the Bills win the next 3 games even though they are against teams that are very beatable, the vast majority of the hatred for Rex is going to wane. The front office knows this. If they win all 3 games, you can bet Rex and crew are going to be back for at least another year. Then he'll have another shot at the playoffs to keep his job. If the Bills win 2 out of the next 3, I think he will still be back (as long as they beat the Browns). If they lose to the Browns this week it will be so embarrassing that Rex could get fired in the peak of momentary hatred. -
There isn't a front office in the NFL that would admit it, but... I bet the a large percentage of coach firings in the NFL are heavily influenced by fan opinion. That doesn't mean that the fans make the decision for the front office. That doesn't mean that the front office/owners only care what the fans want. It just means that the owners do care immensely about what their customer(s) (a.k.a. fan base) thinks about the product. Of course, that is just my opinion based on my understanding of human nature and business in general from being a business owner.
-
Do you think the owners live in an igloo isolated from the rest of the world? Like any other business owner, NFL owners are not oblivious to what their customers think of their product. Business owners do tend to pay attention to such things, especially if they want to stay in business. Here is one of the more likely ways it would happen IF it was to happen: Fans become disgruntled and keep voicing the same dominant topic over and over again week after week for months. That topic - When is Rex going to be fired for sucking? Local media realizes they can get eyeballs, ears and clicks by continuously talking about "When is Rex going to be fired for sucking?" Pegulas get asked by media over and over again - "When is Rex going to be fired for sucking?" NFL network and ESPN people jump in and start talking about "When is Rex going to be fired for sucking?" National media and local media keeps reaching out to Pegulas for comment - "Can you give us an explanation as to why you have decided not to fire Rex yet?" Pegula is out to dinner with long time business friend - Business friend asks - how are you guys managing to deal with all this hatred for Rex by the public? Do you honestly even think it would need to get that far before the Pegulas realized - Wow, a lot of our fanbase must really, really hate Rex. Pegulas would find out the way that everybody finds out about every major issue that is happening. When enough people start talking about it or when people talk about it long enough. That is all it would take. In fact, I am 99% positive they already have some idea about how sentiment has already turned against Rex by an increasing number of local fans. And just to indemnify myself - I'm not saying that is what is going to happen. I am simply pointing out that is one way it could happen. I thought these types of things were/are intuitively obvious to everyone.

Be honest...who wants to lose to the Browns?
PolishDave replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are right. It's not even close. Being able to identify, judge and/or develop talent are the most important things. If you can do that, it doesn't really matter where you pick in the draft. Losing intentionally for draft picks is freaking lame. And that is why I hope Whaley stays employed in Buffalo. I think he is way above average at recognizing talent. If he stays on as GM long enough, I am confident he will build a rock star roster that is talented enough to win a Superbowl. At least we already have a guy who can identify talent. Now if only we had one who could develop players. -
Dareus Guarantees a Bills' Win over the Browns
PolishDave replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RG3 runs for 200. Rex runs out to 50 yard line and commits Japanese style "Seppuku" in front of fans. Fans - slow clap. -
That may be true. But their opinion will wane quickly if enough fans are outraged and the Pegulas realize how outraged they are. This sport is still highly political don't forget. The owners may defy the fanbase for a while, but eventually they will cave to them assuming fan opinion remains negative enough long enough. Of course that is also assuming a high enough percentage of the fanbase wants it to happen and they express that desire strongly enough. Not sure that is going to happen though. Plenty of people still want to ride the Rex train.
-
Holy sh*t. You might be onto something here. Man I hope you are wrong. It would create quite the ruckus. Boo birds would be out hardcore. Can only imagine how ugly things would in terms of fan outrage. I don't think anyone in that front office would allow it to happen. They have to be smart enough to know it would be political suicide.

Bills vs. Steelers Postgame

Pretty sad for a guy who got off to a great start this year. Zach isn't playing like a guy who wants to be resigned here or anywhere else for that matter. -

On a somewhat related side note - Is it wrong of me that I hope Jeff Fisher never coaches again for another NFL team at any level? -
Be honest...who wants to lose to the Browns?
PolishDave replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I want to win the Browns game and the other ones too. Draft positions be damned. And I want everything to fall in place perfectly so the Bills make the playoffs THIS year. No it won't happen. Doesn't mean I can't want it to and wish it to. P.S. I fork out big money every year and have for decades to go watch my team win. Not lose. So yeah, I want a win and I expect the team to want a win too.
