I did use the term incorrectly, and you are correct, what my point is since the charters don't have union employees they are opposed to them. To a true pro union teacher charter and private schools are the same. I do want to point out that the teachers union in FL is voluntary and I am not a member because they spend too much time dealing with political crap and not enough getting me paid more.

Hollywood is collapsing
Orlando Buffalo replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Hollywood seems to have hit the point where everyone is so focused on appealing to everyone that they don't do anything special. The MCU was entertaining for a while but none of them were truly "great" movies. There has not been a great comedy in probably 15 years, since Tropic Thunder. And I don't see many dramas but most of them seem to have moved to TV. -
1/3 of total deaths should have been categorized differently, once again another "conspiracy theory" that is upon further inspection decided to be true. We were lied to so many times it is disgusting.

The American Media Should Not Be Trusted

This video is a cameraman doing his job while what I think is a politician lies right in front of the whole nation(Canada). I appreciate camera man doing this especially since it might cost him his job. -
I believe it is the same all over country, but the issue for the Teachers Union is that the kids in certain areas are latched to their school, like a monopoly. If a parent can simply choose another school then all those jobs at that site are in jeopardy, and mostly the change is to private, therefore they want to make sure that the government makes the private school as hard as possible to get into for the parent.

I am fully in support of school vouchers but want to make sure everyone is aware of the issues that they cause parents. One is that the good schools become overcrowded quickly and depending on situation causes the quality to drop. In FL we have school choice but school only has to take kid if the school is not at capacity, which every good school is at "capacity", such as my high school is at capacity at 720 per class but 2 years ago had a graduating class of 1200 before relief school was opened. Secondly who has responsibility of transportation, in most of country that becomes a real issue. Lastly what is response to kids who miss a large amount of days due to transportation issues? These are the issues that popped up in FL recently. For most parents it is easier to move to a good district then deal with this rigamarole.

Back when I was young the Simpsons did an episode where Mr. Burns blocks the sun, I have discussed it in the actually global warming thread at one point, forgot which thread I was in. Though if the seas does rise I am about 40 ft above sea level and the ocean will just be closer at that point. -

I moved to Florida in 2001 and basically every other year we get a climate apocalypse narrative based on whatever is happening. In 2004 when I had three hurricanes go directly over my house I was warned but then we did not have the longest stretch in recorded history of no major hurricanes. Earth is gonna change we adapt or we die, unless you believe the Mr Burns plan is reasonable -

Worst driving situation right now is likely I-4 in Orlando, we have a ton of tourists, a ton of new people to the area, and a ton of construction right now at a point where almost finished and exits are moving. I admit I was the guy cutting over at the last moment because I was ignoring signs because the exit has been in the same spot for 15 years at least, but they decided to move it for no good reason.😊 -
What is better, no guns, or more guns?
Orlando Buffalo replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The issues are the blue areas, 90% of the murders in FL are in blue districts. -

https://uphomes.com/blog/safest-cities-in-florida/ Take your pick, except Tampa since it is liberal. I am honestly surprised any liberal areas are in top 15. -
You might want to discuss that with Billsy but the rest of us are aware.

So you believe that a company that has had multiple employees arrested for pedophilia every single year for at least decade should be weighing on the topic of when it is appropriate to discuss sex with children? Seems Disney screwed themselves by getting involved in the first place and Chapek deserved the blame.
-
Your point is not what you wrote, so the assumption is that the writer is responsible for being clearer. The reason the politicians are cheering the problems for Disney is the company directly entered the political ring and attacked the politicians, most companies are not so dumb. Truly I hope Iger is smarter than Chapek, who seemed to ruin everything he touched.
