  1. Exactly. When the Bills make deals with players like Clements (which I think was repeated with Asante Samuel or something) that they will give them their word that they won't be franchised again if they stop holding out or cut players in time for them to catch on with other teams, it is good for the team in the long run.
  2. Donahoe was BPTPGTA (Best Player to Prove Genius That is Available).
  3. When I was a young college student spending down in DC, I was always so generous as I was from a small town and figured these people were really hard up. I feel like a fool now after being burned and hearing about things like this.
  4. It's more important to have a lot of great LBs in a 3-4. Do we have much of a rotation for DBs, v. say DLs and DEs in our system?
  5. Is this the new fashionable conventional wisdom? That CBs are not important? Remember when it was all you do not need a QB because Trent Dilfer could win the Super Bowl? Then people noticed that most of the time, you need an established QB. Then it was that you don't need to draft a QB in the first round because of Tom Brady (and later Tony Romo)? Then suddenly people noticed how often good QBs would come from the first round (with notable exceptions). There's no magic formula for success in the draft and for emphasizing some positions over others. This little meme will go out of fashion in a few years as well.
  6. I remember him being picked on constantly in 3 WR sets, but maybe my memory is fading.
  7. They did that because they were angry that the NFL put the Patriots/Giants game at the end of the season on CBS and NBC.
  8. At the same time, we know the pain of having a terrible CB. No offense to the guy intended, but see Watson, Chris.
  9. Some people cannot get a dish and do not have an option to purchase it on their cable system. I am all about the a la carte model even if it causes channels to cost more individually because the costs cannot be spread across the line-up, but currently this is rarely available. And if I have to pay for MTV and other dreck instead of the NFL Network, well... That being said, I don't otherwise necessarily mind the NFL not getting its way considering how it has acted lately.
  10. Kraft played a big role in backing Goddell for the commish job...
  11. They aren't waiting for June 1st; see my post above.
  12. And I believe there's a way to cut a player early but have the same effect of a June 1st cut anyway.
  13. I am still hoping for someone to implement my 2 QB offense. If that ever happened, I would want a good third QB to both back-up and relieve the 2 QBs from time to time.
  14. Regardless of the home field advantage that the current stadium provides, I would bet that there would be more demand for late season tickets with a dome.
  15. I agree. I just want to stop worrying. I mean, at least knowing how much it would cost to keep them there either with a new stadium and/or 2-3 games in Toronto each year.
  16. I am pretty sure that the NFL is now extracting fees for taking opportunities for expansion markets, which should lower the benefit of moving.
  17. I think that he is requesting public money still. And in this economy, good luck. That being said, why the NFL is so against expansion is beyond me. Convenience in scheduling and symmetry in divisions seems like silly reasons.
  18. I am pretty sure he was released because the Broncos could find no takers for a trade.

  20. There is also less chance that the attendees will be rooting for the other team -- rather than just be disinterested -- with the Dolphins than with other teams such as the Patriots, Browns, and Jets.
  21. 11/30 hosting San Francisco
  22. Why would the owner's care about Buffalo as a city and WNY as a region? Where is there love for the Bills. To many powerful teams, they are just a drain on their finances. They will only vote against it because of political and media pressure. My feeling is that the Bills will stay in WNY somehow, nonetheless, but a lot of creative work has to be done. A new domed stadium and/or more games in Toronto is probably necessary.
  23. Some might say that drafting a DE high makes about as much sense.
  24. That's an irrelevant difference to my point. Baltimore, Oakland, etc. were not refusing to support the moved team before they got a new because they expected to get a new team later. They just were burned by the move and had no interest in supporting the same team in a different city. So what if Toronto is close to Buffalo? You don't still think your ex-wife is a swell gal just because she is shacking up with your neighbor.
  25. Nothing changes? When teams move to new cities that changes their fan base. How many Baltimore Colts fans are now Indianapolis Colts fans? How many Oakland Raiders fans *rooted* for the Raiders in LA? How many Oilers fans root for the Titans?
