Interesting how he also was a genius then even though it seemed like McGahee was picked earlier than slotted. Even now, I don't think it was such a genius pick. The Bills were 8-8 that season. Picking a player that could have been full-strength the following season should have been the focus in that situation. That was a pick of a playoff team, not a team-at the time-seemingly close to making the playoffs.

That alone makes me happy considering recent OL history here.

The offensive players needed are on the OL. I don't think we can complain about any other areas weakness not being addressed. The problems of the TE are overrated. Kevin Everett and Royal hopefully will be enough.

High motor = codeword for saying white defensive linemen can't play.

Well the funny thing is that there would be far fewer complaints if the Bills had picked him. Yet, as we can see, the Bills could have traded down very far and still picked him.

The problem is that we haven't even picked the second player yet, so at this point you can only compare this first round pick with others in the past. Donahoe was no genius for getting Kelsay. We picked him at, what 22? If the Raiders were going to pick him last, then we could have traded down a few spots in order to get more picks. The guy the Bills wanted would not have lasted too much longer--in fact, probably he would be picked within a smaller window than there was w/ WM. Sorry. The DL crap was just TD spin and irrelevant to this. You don't even know who the Bills will pick w/ their next pick yet.

Donahoe picked McGahee when it seemed fairly clear that he would have been available much further down due to concerns about his knee. In fact, Drew R. told McGahee to make it look like teams were calling him when they were not. Donahoe could have gotten WM later--he was played and was a fool by similar logic.

Sort of reminds me of when the genius Donahoe got played by Rosenhaus w/ McGahee. He could have traded down to pick him too...
