  1. For the past two years, I have felt tired so much of the time. No matter how much I sleep, it takes me a lot of coffee and other tricks to give me the energy to do what I need to do. I thought it was allergy medication, but now avoiding that doesn't seem to do the trick. I have mentioned it in passing with a doctor when I have come in for other things, but they seem to ignore it. I talk to people I know, and I they don't seem to have any advice other than sleep more and exercise, both things that I am doing. The only thing that seemed to happen at the same time of this is that my allergies got real bad, I graduated college, and am taking allergy shots. I don't want this to seem like whining and it's weird to post this here, but has anyone had this problem before and if so, what was the solution? I am 24, but I feel like I have the energy of an old man at times lately.
  2. You mean he hasn't been poisoning teammates against his competition and planting anonymous stories about the other QB? You mean he has played the best he could with what talent he has, has tried to be friends with JP, accepted opportunities to start when presented to him? For that, he is hated. Hate the coach who puts the player in, not the player.
  3. Let's go with one QB to start the season. That way, nothing will get in the way of JP Losman starting. How about he earns the starting job and plays well? That will shut up any complaining veterans on the team. If veterans are still looking for KH well into this season then I think it is because the Bills and Losman are sucking. KH is not really the problem.
  4. but worse than Todd Collins? Johnson showed flashes of brilliance.
  5. There's a time in a place for being a free spirit or a man making your own rules or whatever else. Unfortunately, tipping now has become part of the wages that certain people earn. Barbers, waiters, etc. charge and are paid based on the expectation that they can expect tips normally. Maybe it shouldn't be that way, but you're effectively ripping the person off if a tip is expected and you ain't paying it out of spite towards the mores of the place you live.
  6. I may have quoted you... but I wasn't directing it to you. Sorry bout the confusion. I just picked a random post.
  7. I tip the barber who cuts my hair. Not the garbageman.
  8. There are some people you tip and some you don't. It's that simple and it's not really for someone to make that decision, society has for you. Just go with the flow and stop complaining. Obviously waiters and waitresses, etc. rely on people tipping them so you tip them. Some other people you tip too.
  9. Wait... I think we are getting off-topic here. What's the deal, we getting worked up over some fake newspaper reporter? EDIT: Oh wait, I most have misread. I guess he's legit.
  10. What about the payer? At some point the payer has to either examine the work product or trust the employee or contractor did his job with reasonable diligence. I have done some brief stints in managing other people when I was in college and constantly monitoring if they were working didn't usually work. Treating people like adults doing work that has value usually motivates someone more than fear of being caught slacking off.
  11. There at least used to be some support. I think now though the league is at least somewhat profitable for some of these owners. The salaries are not very high and there seem to be enough people to go to these games.
  12. It seems like you did not even read my post. No, there would not be different standards; it is just a different situation. The standard for all is working reasonably hard. Depending on your job there are different pitfalls of someone cheating you out of what you paid them. For a plumber it would sitting around the whole time unreasonably. Taking breaks b/c it's hard work or taking his time to do it is all about it being reasonable. It really depends on the situation anyway. If you got a jury I am sure most people can agree on what is reasonable and what is not. Salaried jobs, for example, where it is all about the work product and hours are not set--for example a professor... there could be a helluvalot more Internet surfing that would be okay. I think at the end of the day, people know if they put in a good day's work.
  13. Not that surfing while at work is not that great, especially at certain jobs, but there are a lot of things that people do on that job that you could argue that are "thefts" as well. Go get a cup of coffee, go chat with co-workers, ease up on how fast you're working when you could work harder, daydream, stare off into space, make personal phone calls, sign up for a contracting job and say you will be there or do it at specific time but instead do it late and overbudget so that you can ensure you always have a job. There's reasonable and unreasonable in all of this.
  14. Well, spring football leagues didn't work the last 5 times. Maybe it will this time. [Arena football doesn't count.]
  15. Mandy would be one.
  16. I know you don't want to reveal much about your career so I won't ask for particular names of things you have written for... but what kind of stuff are you normally doing? And no, I am not looking you to see my "treatment" or anything else... I am just curious.
  17. Did you write for it?
  18. It never seemed like a big deal to plan ahead ones alcohol purchases or wait a few hours to buy stuff later.
  19. No one is stopping her from suing all of them at once.
  20. He doesn't post here anymore.
  21. Well I guess that doesn't say much for Losman either considering an objective comparison between the two last season.
  22. How quickly was Deer Hunter made? Platoon? There's no problem with a tasteful movie on a recent tragedy. This one was not tasteful.
  23. What happened to ieatz?
  24. I think I found what you are talking about on YouTube and briefly watched it. It looks like there's some debate about whether this is actually real or a reinactment in some small-scale film. The date on the video and the sound--when I think there was no sound for the security camera and it's too clear for a 911 call--makes it seem rather dubious
  25. I think the difference is that ESPN might get sued for what Harold Reynolds did, but not for what Michael Irvin did.
