  1. I agree with the idea that not everyone should go to college, but only in the sense that there are a lot of good jobs where what someone learns at a LAC is probably pretty superfluous. The only problem is that many employers require a bachelor's, using the degree as a proxy for competence, when nothing learned in college is necessary for the job. Of course, that gets to the general point that college degrees are often just used by employers as a cheap way to sort candidates (allowing colleges to do the work for them) for entry level jobs.
  2. Romo fell to earth and so will Vince Young. The question is just if the Bills will be the one to bring him down.
  3. Someone was criticizing TenneseeBoy I thought.
  4. Yeah, I thought Tennessee drafted Leinart b/c of Norm Chow... So they have Vince Young apparently? Do they have Leinart as well? If so, who's starting?
  5. I will note that the only way for me to get in the finals of my fantasy league is for Manning to have a subpar night. But because the Bills' success takes precedence, I will be rooting for a Colts victory.
  6. I will note that in the professional school sense, most base all their aid on the both parents and the child's salaries and assets.
  7. I thought it was 10,000 earlier...
  8. I think it's admirable when people work their way through college, but I don't see why parents who want to help out their children should be attacked for doing so. It's their business how they decide to spend their money and paying for a kid's college education is not determinative of the financial skills the child will have, anecdotes provided or not. I can understand that people begrudge the help that others got because of who their parents were, but parents are going to help out their children and vice versa and I am not sure why someone would attack that. That's the way it is and nothing really has changed in that regard.
  9. I thought someone said that if the Bengals win tonight and the Jets beat Miami the Bills are eliminated as the Bills could no longer catch either team.
  10. I ran into it when they were doing the Panthers/Steelers.
  11. Did they even show the highlights?
  12. Any comments regarding the Bills there?
  13. It's definitely close enough to drive there from LA, but the easiest way to get there is through sleep-deprivation and carelessness.
  14. Headline tomorrow/talking-head interpretation: DOLPHINS NEED NEW QB, HARRINGTON NOT THE ANSWER; DOLPHINS PLAY DOWN TO COMPETITION; DOLPHINS CAN'T GET IT DONE, LOSE TO LOWLY BILLS
  15. Lines often seem to mirror the national media. National media too lazy to notice the Bills, so...
  16. Worse uniforms off the top of my head: Dolphins, Patriots, Redskins, Bengals, Seahawks,
  17. How does New England affect us anymore?
  18. My view of the Southern Tier is Elmira and Binghamton, but I suppose there are other definitions.
  19. Not in America, see my post above.
  20. The 75 mile radius is somewhat irrelevant for the Bills as Syracuse certainly is much further than that and is blacked out because it reaches a sliver of that radius. Blacking out Syracuse also blacks out Sunday Ticket in its viewing area.
  21. http://www.gribblenation.net/nflmaps/ will also show you that North Country and the Southern Tier have it.
  22. Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo stations are all part of the blackout. Sunday Ticket is also blacked out in any area that is mainly serviced by these stations. I do know that WBNG in Binghamton will be showing the game. A town like Ithaca gets WBNG on its cable (although Sunday Ticket there will not have it b/c Ithaca is in the Syracuse market) but your best bet would be to get down to the Southern Tier somehow.
  23. WBNG is showing it (in Binghamton) you can get it in towns like Ithaca. Or you could go to the game itself in Orchard Park.
  24. Because the Bills future depends on its ability to attract fans to the actual games and generate local revenues, I am not sure why we should worry so much about the policy of the blackout rule.
  25. It would be weird for me in that I would have very little to care about in regards to sports. I care about MLB and the Orioles and the NFL with the Bills. It is tough to care about MLB and the Orioles considering how much a mess both are and if the Bills moved, I would like have no sports to care about. A lot of free time... maybe college football?
