What will we all do if the Bills move to L.A.
Arkady Renko replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My father was a Baltimore Colts fan. Until I got him back into it with the Bills, he was done with the NFL, not giving a rat's ass about what happened. Let me note that my grandfather died right before the Colts moved. It was like adding insult to injury to him. I will follow his example and then some. Not only will I stop caring about the NFL, I will root for its demise. If I ever become a billionaire, I will move the team back. If I ever have an opportunity to get revenge on the NFL, I will take it. -
How close is it to a sellout normally when a corporate company buys up the seats?
-
Blackout decision occurs at 12PM on Thursday I think. Sellout ain't going to happen by then barring a miracle. There was a Friday deadline for the Jaguars game b/c of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Posts here sometimes, lawyer down in Miami I think. Good guy.

If playing one game a year in Toronto every year would help keep the team in Buffalo, I would be willing to endure it.
-
As we all know the Bills are playing the Dolphins and Titans the next two weeks. Considering how much hype these 6-7 teams have had lately the question here is whether the Bills will prove all the talking heads wrong and show that the Bills are the true team on the rise, even more so than the Dolphins and Titans. If the Bills do not make the playoffs, sweeping these two games would be a nice consolation prize in that it would force the talking heads--who base their bull on stat sheets and nationally televised games--finally to have to take notice on how the Bills have improved this year. On the other hand, all our complains about the national media will look silly if the Bills don't show up for these 2 games. It will be interesting to see what happens. Aside: can you believe that the Bills had to play the two arguably best teams in the conference as their two variable games this year b/c for some reason third place last year is the source of elite teams this year? Compare this to the Jets who got the Browns and the Raiders and the Patriots who face the Broncos and the Steelers. I know this didn't warrant its own thread, but whatever... I hardly start new threads.

I think most haven't updated yet. That's why the Bills have fallen in most polls.
-
It could be a $1B or more asset if he was willing to sell the team to an owner in LA. Let's not be stupid here. Guess what? Many other owners would have moved by now. Wilson may have his flaws but at least he has kept the team here and fought to give small market teams a fighting chance. Wilson is not the problem, the NFL is. I hope Bills fans don't realize this too late.
-
Because what matters is the ranking of the team's total offensive yardage and nothing else apparently.
-
And if we are going to complain about how this or that coach was treated by the fans and Wilson, I think we should worry about Wade Phillips before MM and GW.
-
Whether MM was treated fairly is an open question--because in the end, he should have just been fired. The only mistake Marv Levy and Ralph Wilson made in regards to him was putting him in a situation where he would be almost crazy to stay, instead of just firing him. MM was linked with TD. Donahoe's time had run out and the Bills needed to start fresh. Donahoe had five years to create a playoff team, but went through 3 and a half OCs and had just one winning season. Whether MM was part of the problem or just collateral damage is open to debate, I feel.

My bad. I guess I just assume that Wegmans is Pittsford-based because of that super-store.
-
There should be a way for Joe Blow who can't come to the game this Sunday to buy a ticket and donate it for use by some kids or soldiers and lead to a sellout. Even though I am low on funds and cannot get to the game, I think I could afford one ticket for such a charitable purpose. If enough people got on board, we could get this game sold out? Just floating an idea, please don't flame me as I am a delicate flower.

Suburb of Roch. Wegmans hometown.
-
Gosh darn it, I told you that I was buying the team in confidence. Now you jeopardize this deal going through in order to have some sort of "scoop"? Now, the price will be bid up and people from LA and other places will become interested. Thanks a lot!

interesting article in ESPN mag

I believe this research came out a few years ago originally. Bill Belichick liked it... -
Does a 9-7 team make the AFC playoffs?
Arkady Renko replied to willis da illest's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My prediction is that one of the teams will be 9-7. But there are enough 7-6 teams that I would give it even odds. -
National Media and The Bills
Arkady Renko replied to Arkady Renko's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just hate how the Dolphins are getting so much more respect than the Bills despite them having the same record. I guess maybe more people will notice the Bills if they beat the Dolphins this week. -
If you watched PTI, it is hilarious how they referenced the Bills. 1. Jags would be great if they hadn't lost to teams like the Texans and Bills (i.e., played down the competition). 2. Since the Colts turned 9-0 (when the Bills almost beat them by 1 point and showed how to slow them down) they have played poorly. 3. Wilbon couldn't believe how the Jets blew it against the Bills and played so poorly at home against that team. Gee, maybe the Bills actually are a good team on the rise rather than a poor team that good teams blow it against?

We're in Peter King's "Fine Fifteen"
Arkady Renko replied to loadofmularkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't the Jets are better than the Bills, but I don't know if it's too surprising that the Bills are behind them to non-Bills experts. The Jets looked dominant against the Texans and Packers while the Bills squeaked by those teams. Going into the game, the Jets definitely looked far-better than the Bills to most national observers. He also didn't put the Jags ahead of the Colts. -

They are 7-6, Bills are 6-7 -
Bledsoe...what a great team guy...
Arkady Renko replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course this is also based on some Parcells tweaking. Remember how much he still tweaks Romo? Who knows how bad it actually is. -
Hopefully Bills fans are pumped enough after that win to make it at least close to a sellout.

Bledsoe...what a great team guy...
Arkady Renko replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not sure why this is so surprising or that this is such a black mark on Bledsoe's character. The guy was drafted #1, started right away and has never been a backup for more than half a season. Human nature is that people hate demotions far more than they like promotions. I think lot of people when demoted at their job would have a hard time being motivated especially if they are very self-confident and have been a higher-up for a long time. The fact that he is well-situated financially makes it even harder for him to push himself.
