  1. Ray lewis is great, but he killed a dude. I lost my woodie for Lewis a long time ago It's tough to get a ring when the rest of your team sucks. You can give Steve Young the reins of the titans right now and I'm not sure you would have yourself a super bowl.
  2. Just as many of you on this board, I am pumped for this season. Already planning out how to spent upwards of 50 bucks a week at the local pub to watch the games. But sometimes I sit back and think, man, are we really that much better this year than last year? "Whaaaaat?" You might ask Yes, we have had some major additions. Starting with the coaching, that is already a giant leap in the right direction. But think about improvements. Our defense will undoubtedly be top 5, probably even top 3 this year. But we had a top D last year. There is very little Rex can do to improve a D that was already the best of the best. On offense? Yeah, we added some great weapons. Some fantastic weapons. But last year, were our offensive woes due to lack of skill at the skill positions? Not at all. We had the weapons, but no one to get them the ball. Have we taken a step in the right direction this year to get our weapons the ball? Nope. And I'm not blaming anyone in the FO, it's not like they haven't made the effort. Our only saving grace this year might be Roman or Tyrod if they can go above and beyond. I'm excited about Roman this year, but he's got to prove himself. I don't know if TT will get the starting gig, but I am rooting for him because he's a new angle. I am also rooting for EJ, but it doesn't appear yet that he has made a night and day improvement from last year.
  3. I think JJ Watt deserves his level of exposure. Best defensive player in the game. OBJ? Not so much
  4. Great read. Thanks for posting! I have always felt like Hogan is an under-appreciated member of the squad. He doesn't really have that name for himself, but when it's time to hit the field he'll find a way to get things done.
  5. All of this talk is making me so frustrated that I'm an out of town fan...I've never been to a game at the Ralph but I want to some day!
  6. You're right. Thad Lewis? I'm not sure who he has started for, but he's been on a million teams. EDIT: Nope, I think he's just made starts for us and the browns
  7. I think he was saying in the past 3 years, we will have started 3 QBs who have started for 4 different teams? Cassel, Orton, Fitz?
  8. This. I don't understand the Fitz haters here. I wouldn't argue that Fitz is good, but I think a strong case could be made that the Jets got an upgrade. Let's see what happened last time we played geno...Bills win 38-3, Geno gets benched for Vick. And the time before that? Geno goes 2-8 with 3 picks before getting benched for Vick, Bills win 43-23. Anyone want to guess what happened the last time we played against Fitz?
  9. Doesn't matter how high his ceiling is, it will always collapse under pressure.
  10. Didn't Thigpen take one to the house last year? On a relatively low number of attempts? A lot of people seem to think that he wont make the team...but I guess it's reasonable seeing as he doesn't really have any other roles
  11. Are you counting on-target incompletions as completions? Or are these true stats? Either way, it would be interesting to see both. Sounds like there were a lot of drops EDIT: I also see that you're still writing so my apologies if it's a work in progress. Anyway, thanks a bunch astro for your report!
  12. Did it seem like Cassel had hardly any possessions? Or were they just so quick to end
  13. Its frustrating that our O is stalling, but the more practical way of looking at it is that even a great offense is mismatched against our D
  14. Do we have our full force on the D line including mario williams?
  15. I'm really hoping Karlos has a great showing today. It would be great to groom him under McCoy to be a trusted backup/committee for the next few years
  16. Unless we're talking about Peyton Manning's late 2014 campaign. Was he injured or just getting old?
  17. Thanks. Didn't sound too serious initially but you never know
  18. I'm not saying we don't have a chance, but the general consensus is this team should be somewhere between 8-8 and 11-5 this year. If we're good enough to beat the Colts (without Dareus and McKelvin), I don't see another 5 losses in the schedule. Heck, I would only see about 2 or 3 (@Pats, @Cowboys, ?)
