  1. LOL. I understand what youre saying. But I'm going to side with history on this one. (And by the way, I hope EJ is one of those 5%) You're welcome.
  2. Maybe that's where we differ. I think Roethlisberger, Flacco and Wilson are about half as good as Peyton. And the chances that Eli becomes a Roeth or Flacco is low. Stats prove that. Draft choices rarely pan out statistically. Here ya go. Look at all the QB's drafted, then calculate how many are good. Get the %. Then apologize. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_NFL_Draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_NFL_Draft I'm not trying to rip on him. I'm just more realistic than others.
  3. Based on statistics. Go ahead and figure out the percentage. Take every QB taken, say in the past decade, and see how many are good players. The percentage is small. Very very very small. Peyton Manning first game: 7 touchdowns KC Chiefs entire 2012 season: 8 passing touchdowns
  4. And substantially lower his value. That would teach me a lesson. That's for sure.
  5. Watching that makes me so sad. The possibility that EJ is ever even half that good is so low.
  6. 2 TD's later, I think he's made up for it. That Manning guy is pretty good too.
  7. LOL. I was just about to do the: [This is an automated response] This subject matter is being currently being discussed or has already been discussed in a previous thread. Please consider using the "search" function before starting new topics. Thank you. But I thought it might be taken the wrong way, and not as a joke.
  8. This isn't "just business". This is a KID with a lot of money that is clueless with an agent who is even more clueless. I own a business. This isn't business. This is foolishness.
  9. Of course the Giants blitzed. And you can review the game tape to see it. They did get a lot of pressure with their front 4 as well.
  10. Without heavy blitzing, perhaps. But they blitzed plenty. That Ravens gave was heavily blitzed as well. Corey Graham blitzed on that key 3rd and 2 in the 1st quarter and stopped Ridley in the back field forcing the field goal. Then right before the half the Pats are on their famous 2 minute drive, Ravens blitz, Brady gets flustered and runs into the back of the ref lol. A couple plays later they blitz again, Brady is flushed out of the pocket and slides (and kicks a Ravens player - should have been a penalty). Brady had to get up, run back to the line, and by that time there was less than 5 seconds left and had to settle for a field goal. Not to mention the reason the Patriots were knocked out of that game was that crucial knockout/fumble by Ridley in the 4th quarter. That was an oucher. But anyway. There's more than one way to skin a cat and more than one way to beat Brady. But let's not pretend that blitzing him hasn't worked. It has. Many times. Including in AFC Championship games and Super Bowls. This too.
  11. And some of his best. The Patriots have averaged 35 points a game against Pettine's defense in his last 6 games. Great idea. Tough to implement. Unless you have the best CB in the game and one of the top 10.
  12. I think the Giants two shiny SB rings would have something to say about that.
  13. LOL. The Jets had Revis and Cromartie. We have Brooks and McKelvin. Not to mention the Jets sacked Brady 5 times that game.
  14. Agreed. Which is exactly why I'm so confused by all the posts in the last week or so that point out our only chance on Sunday is if EJ is playing. May be the opposite.
  15. Do I really have to list all the good NFL players with poor college records? Really? If we're judging by these preseason games then EJ only had success against 3rd and 4th stringers. Leinart has been in the league for many years. He has sucked every single one of them.
  16. No, not a hard choice. In Tuel, we don't know what we have. In Leinart, we know we have a sucky QB. Easy choice IMO. He sucks and is not very talented at all (comparatively speaking).
  17. Doesn't matter. If he plays they'll beat us by 30. If he doesn't play they'll beat us by 20.
  18. Fred definitely looks like he lost a step. Completely disagree about Gilmore.
  19. CB's are more important. I would take a quality CB over a quality S any day of the week. You can plug guys like Aaron Williams and McKelvin into Safety and they will be serviceable. Can't do the same with CB's. Not really. Out of the 29 players who have been tagged the last few years, Byrd is 1 of only 2 that didn't sign their tender until after TC. That's not normal.
  20. No. Doesn't mean that EJ won't start. But I don't think this is just a smokescreen.
  21. I would do it in a hearbeat. But I dont see any teams giving up a good enough CB.
