  1. He was the only DE I'd have wanted the Bills to draft in R1, contingent on the medicals.
  2. Oh thank goodness. I did NOT want the Bills to make that huge trade up.
  3. I'm also of the belief that it'll be Ladd McConkey if they keep the 28th pick. I see him as the best overall fit for the type of player they seem to value at WR. I'm a little uncertain of the R2 pick. I could see it as WR again, DL or DB. I do think most of the 4th-7ths will be defense. In general, though, I expect a quality approach to the offense, quantity on defense.
  4. Same **** every year. I'm not going to say they absolutely have to draft a WR in R1 and obviously I don't know how they have their board graded. But otherwise, I agree. If you want to prevent that scenario you described with a defensive pick, you're going to need to draft an all pro at 28. Realistically, well, good luck with that.
  5. I don't think it's a certainty that they draft a WR at all. I think that Latu and DeJean will be two players the Bills would be highly interested in, though Latu would have some medical questions. As for the WR depth...if they go another direction at 28, I think it likely forces a trade up in R2. There's good depth at WR, but once the run starts, they're going to fly off the board quick, and it's going to be getting very thin around the middle of R2. Late 1st round DEs scare the hell out of me, anyway, but I'd be particularly concerned right now that a rookie would end up buried as the #4 on the depth chart, average 8 plays per game and have two sacks and a dozen tackles by the end of the year.
  6. As long as it doesn't send the Bills' front office into panic mode to go after a CB...
  7. Ricky Pearsall. I think he's a top 40 or so player in this draft, but I wouldn't be surprised if he sneaks into the end of the 1st.
  8. As if a 4.41 isn't fast. It confirms what he did on the field. He's fast. He runs by people.
  9. I don't really see it with Odunze. He is quick through his routes and I think he'll be a good possession receiver, but I didn't see much speed or downfield separation. I liked Polk better on the downfield stuff. Hands and adjustment on contested catches is good, not great. Not impressed with the QB at all on a lot of throws to Odunze, so that his a factor, but I don't see a top 10 kind of prospect. Admittedly, this was more an initial impression from a casual watch of all of his targets this year. I don't think the Bills have a realistic shot at him anyway. Now, that being said, I realize I'm just some guy watching this crap at home on his couch. What the hell do I know? I've been wrong before, and generally, if I'm against the popular opinion, I tend to think I'm wrong. But that's my quick impression.
  10. Well, then they're screwed. With the WR depth chart being what it is, whomever they select damn well better be able to produce at least at a halfway decent level this year.
  11. There were a lot of rumors last year regarding the Bills interest in Addison, in particular, but all three were top 30 visits.
  12. Throw some more money and high picks at it. I'm sure it'll be different this time.
  13. It also provides more incentive for the teams drafting ahead of us to draft a highly rated rookie WR themselves rather than trade down. And, of course, more expensive to convince them otherwise.
  14. I just don't see why any of those top 10 or so would trade out of the pick if he's that good. Chicago, in particular, with that 9th pick looks like a prime landing spot to go along with a rookie QB. It's going to cost a fortune.
  15. I don't care whether he is or not. He's averaging 80 catches for over 1,000 yards in his first three seasons in the league. If that's a #2, I can still live with that.
  16. I'm not as high on BTJ as some others are, but I agree. His downfield speed and ability to separate are exceptional. I thought he and Troy Franklin were the best in that regard, with Franklin being a guy who plays faster than that 4.41. I like Worthy, but from what I've seen, I never got the impression that he was a 4.21 guy on the field. Fast, but not that ridiculously fast.
  17. Same, and that's why I added the caveat regarding the Bills' assessment of his medicals.
  18. Agreed, and unfortunately, as much as I'd like to see them go WR at 28, I don't like the value nearly as much at 19. I voted for Cooper DeJean. I don't want a R1 DB, but he fits this D as a zone CB with freakish speed and athleticism, and in the event that he doesn't make it there (and I think he would), he has the size to move to safety. ...Actually, I'd have to change my vote. I didn't see Quinyon Mitchell still available. I'd choose him over DeJean here. Not that it matters, as BTJ is going to run away with this.
  19. I think there's an outside chance they might make a modest move up the board for Latu, in particular, if they're satisfied with the medicals. Top 10 pass rushing prospect most years available at something of a bargain price...I can see McDermott and Beane being highly interested. I'd much prefer a WR, but I wouldn't be shocked by that.
  20. Well, that's kind of raises another question. Do the Bills see him as someone that plays his career at 165, or do they think they can get him into the 175-180 range over the next couple of years and still retain elite speed and quickness?
  21. I don't think he's a 'one trick' type by any stretch. The size issue is definitely a real concern, IMO, but he's otherwise a real receiver prospect, not just a track guy running vertical routes. He's been a 60+ catch guy three years in a row at Texas. He can run routes. I'm not sure he's their first choice or anything, but I definitely think he's in play for the Bills.
  22. I'm not saying it's particularly smart, but they do seem to be showing a good deal of interest in him.
