  1. As much as I hate to say it, my immediate reaction would be to activate Gabe Davis after the bye, assuming he's healthy. He's not really the answer, but he's probably better than Shavers or Coleman, and at the very least, I think teams will have a little more concern and respect for getting beaten deep downfield just based on past experience of the Allen to Davis combination.
  2. Agreed. This scenario was something I worried about going into last year after losing Davis and Diggs, especially after they didn't draft a separation guy to replace them. I thought Allen might have his worst statistical year since his second season if defenses really engaged with that weakness at WR. Thankfully, they didn't, whether it was due to the Bills still riding the reputation of a high powered offense or maybe they were worried about getting burned by Cooper or even Hollins, who made a number of key plays down the stretch. Whatever the case may be, they definitely aren't afraid of this crew, nor should they be, and I think we'll see this same formula for the remainder of the season where they take their chances 1-on-1 outside and blitz Allen relentlessly until the Bills prove they can counter it.
  3. Its not that hard to understand. He's getting frustrated and forcing balls because no one is open. And increasingly, opponents are realizing that their outside WRs are ass and they're just blitzing the hell out of Allen because they know they're not going to get beat deep or to the outside.
  4. Looking over that group, Cole Bishop looks like the best of the bunch. Yikes.
  5. He's not going anywhere anytime soon as far as his roster spot, but if Gabe Davis is healthy, I'd rather see him out there after the bye week for at least a game or two. Coleman has what, 130 yards or so in the last five games? Can't get much less production out of Davis. I know. The whole thing is just incredibly frustrating. McConkey was one of the most obvious no-brainer prospects I've seen in awhile. He was going to find a role and be successful.
  6. He may already be the best player on that DL.
  7. Same. And for all that BS about McConkey being a slot guy only...I don't give a damn if that's all he is. I would much rather have another high end slot WR than whatever Coleman is (or isnt) right now.
  8. I think he's playing exactly to the lower end of his draft profile. He's just a jump ball guy right now who can't separate from coverage, and he's not a standout even in that role.
  9. Not much to add, but I agree with both points completely.
  10. The defensive issue is more in the back 7 than the front four, IMO.
  11. We have a major WR problem. They can't beat anyone outside one on one and defenses are bringing more rushers than the OL can block. There's no time to throw and no one open. It was so bad that Tyrell Shavers was the go to guy on the last drive. I can't blame Brady when the talent deficiency is blatantly obvious.
  12. Yes, but Palmer is the only guy they have that can separate from the outside WR spots. Without him, no one else gets open. The defense doesnt have to worry about getting beat deep and can bring more guys than the OL can block. This is the end result. I hate to say it, but this team needs Gabe Davis to be healthy and on the field.
  13. It's pretty sad when an injury to Josh Palmer can allow defenses to completely shut down this passing game. That's how bad the roster construction is at WR.
  14. Even they can see it. It's a shame our GM can't.
  15. No one gets open one on one and the Falcons can just blitz Allen every play with more guys than the OL can block.
  16. Agreed. I can't even blame Brady. It's the roster construction, specifically at WR. He just doesn't have much to work with. That's on Beane and McDermott.
  17. Yes. Palmer isn't great by any stretch, but he's competent. They don't have anything else outside. Good job, Beane. No one saw this coming for the last two years or anything.
  18. I think it's just a function of relative expectations. A high second round pick? People expect a near Pro Bowl level player just on that count, but the front office also spent the offseason hyping up Coleman, too. No one has those types of expectations with Palmer or especially Samuel.
  19. He very well may be. I'm not sure that's saying a whole lot, though.
  20. Shakir has had a high ankle sprain and those can linger for while. I'm willing to cut him some slack under the circumstances. Palmer and Samuel haven't done much, but Coleman plays a significantly higher snap count than they do.
  21. To some extent, yes, but it so far, his production in four of the first five games looks similar to the second half of last year. Higher catch percentage, sure, but not much else.
  22. Unfortunately, it's not an even distribution. Throw out that Baltimore game and he's got 13 catches for 114 yards and 1 TD in the last four games. That's less than 9 yards per reception and he's been held to 26 yards or less in three of those four games.
  23. Shakir is a good player, but they don't have any decent boundary receivers. That deficiency showed up tonight and it's particularly glaring given how Diggs torched them all night.
  24. On that play? Yes. For the entire game so far? Not as much.
  25. Where's the flag to bail them out again???
