  1. I agree. It could lead to more competition, plus that $12,000 figure is an average cost. So, I'm sure there are cheaper options. Not sure if they're better or even adequate options, but I'm sure they're there. From reading that article, it seems they assume your employer will drop your coverage. But then they'll pay you the extra $12,000 that they were using to pay for your health coverage.
  2. Thanks for the read. Sounds reasonable in my admittedly limited knowledge of taxes and health benefits. The 2 immediate concerns are (1) do I get bumped into a higher tax bracket when you add the health care money in and (2) what happens if/when insurance premiums go up each year.
  3. I'm not sure I understand all the details, hence, I'm asking here (god I hope that's not a mistake). But, McCain has suggested giving every family a $5,000 refund check for health care that they can use anywhere they want. I assume that's taxed, but not really sure and, more importantly for my question, not really sure it really matters. According to the National Coalition on Health Care, "The annual premium for an employer health plan covering a family of four averaged nearly $12,100. The annual premium for single coverage averaged over $4,400." OK, so how does giving me $5,000 (or $2,500 for a single person) actually allow me and my family to be covered? What am I missing?
  4. More fuel for the fire... for those that don't get it, at least.
  5. ok that was funny
  6. Exactly. I really hope they beat the Pats*. I'd hate for them to come to town, completely desperate. It seems our last 4 games have been against desperate teams.
  7. Very much agree with that. It is funny how the loss changed that idea for me, though. Going into the Card game, I was thinking that if we won, we'd be 5-0 and on a serious roll. It sucks we have a bye. But, now with the loss, with Trent's injury, with Schobel's foot, with Roscoe, with KO; it's good to get the break. Get healthy and re focus is what this team needs right now. Plus having the extra week to prepare for what will be the toughest game up to this point is good.
  8. No worries. I was just trying to make fun. I completely agree it your original post! It's amazing how 2 weeks ago the Pats* lost and people jumped all over them. They win their next game and all is right on ESPN again. The Cowboys lost a week ago and TO should be cut. They win their next game and all is right on ESPN again. Bottom line... if the Bills win their next game, all is right in Buffalo again. So, I agree. Let's enjoy that we're 4-1, leading our division, and in a great position to practically secure a playoff spot of the next 4 weeks.
  9. Does a thread complaining about complaining constitute complaining. That's my conundrum.
  10. Only if JT is the resurrected Joe Montana.
  11. I'm really trying not to post in this thread anymore. But it's like crack ho's; you just gotta go talk to them. (not really) There's a fundamental flaw in any argument from any poster that says Trent would have done better or would have been able to win the game. I do hope every one realizes this. See, the reality is.... Trent was the starter. Trent did play in the game. Trent took a vicious sack and left the game. So you see, Trent had a chance to lead the offense and win the game, but stood in the pocket too long, got nailed and couldn't finish. I'm not knocking on Trent. I'm just reminding every one that Trent was in the game and produced less points than JP. Why? Because he couldn't finish the game. So, to suggest that Trent could have won the game is to ignore the fact that he had his shot as well. For this reason, myself and others, have suggested that the QB position is not why we lost this game. It was largely because of the defense and the offensive line. Maybe if the defense could have stopped the Cards once in the first half or the offensive line could at least slow down a blitzing safety, we would have won - with Trent as the QB.
  12. I thought Jesus Christ was the QB for the 49'ers? Man I'm confused.
  13. Overall, I'd say it's a better looking site now. Better color contrasts; nice pictures; and all. However, they seem to have complicated the site in a few ways. Some script error keeps popping up from time to time. No idea what it does. It seems a little more difficult to navigate; although, maybe that'll just take time to familiarize myself with the new layout. Why have Peters Return as the main story on the Media Lounge page? (Unless they're implying he hasn't really returned yet, which given his play is entirely possible) Why call it the Media Lounge? Just me, perhaps, but I don't lounge on the Internet. Why not come up with cute names for all the other website sections - News Library, Team Locker Room, The Bills Bodega, you get the idea. The omission of the Bills Backer information seems like a significant over site. Seems like one of the websites, primary goals should be to give information of the Bills. Where to watch games seems fairly important. Why the old school helmet graphics for the Chargers vs Bills game? Seems like with all the upgrades, they could have improved those graphics as well. Picky, I know. Biggest complaint. It seems to load slower. Why do all upgrades and and improvements on software and websites equate to bloat and slower programs? If you overall the graphics, you should overall under the hood and improve efficiency as well. JP needs to really get this stuff taken care of. He's screwed up our offense and our defense; I just don't understand why he's screwing with out website now. Hopefully, this is just the first version of the major overhaul and some of these over sites will be corrected quickly. Now, do something that matters and change the damn uniforms. (Oh yeah and fix the defense)
  14. Wow. Now that just about takes the cake. If there was any doubt, it has all been erased... JP can do nothing right in some people's eye. Now, he's accused of thinking to hard. Others accuse him of not thinking enough. He's called out for high fives on the sideline. He's accused of looking to calm on the sideline. And the list could go on. I guess I just don't understand all the dislike for a guy that has never said a negative word about the City or the team and has always done all he could to help the team win. I just don't get it. He's not the right guy for this team. No one is arguing that anymore. But why hate on everything and anything he does? Pretty sad, in many ways.
  15. My guess, and its just a guess, but you're gonna be unhappy with his play for a few more years. Because there's no way he's being traded in the off season.
  16. Sitting on the bench while the defense was letting the Cards run a walk through practice on them. I still don't see how offensive players are responsible for stopping a slant on 3rd down.
  17. Quite seriously... if JP had been in the shotgun, I think the defensive guy may have intercepted the snap. He was in the backfield that quick.
  18. Why settle for Garcia? If we're just going to magically sign a player that was unavailable, why not sign Drew Brees or Jay Cutler?
  19. What I want to know is where were all the blitzes? Several time during the Rams game, Poz was turned lose and got to the QB. Greer's interception was largely due to Poz being in Green's face. Ashton and Whitner have both effectively got to the QB coming off the corner. But, where was all that yesterday? They just sat back and watched Warner and his receivers run passing drills all day. Just pathetic, no matter what defense you call it. I get the feeling, based on the way they played and on player comments, that the Bills expected the Cards to play a deep passing game. So they tried to keep everything in front of them. But, you would think at some point they would have adjusted to all the short stuff and at least tried to stop it. My concern: after 4 games does the league have enough film and now know exactly how to beat our offense and defense.
  20. No I presented the facts. You formed an opinion based on those facts. Your opinion was that the big difference was "about 8 minutes of TOP and about 70 yards of plays that didn't all come on 1 play. Thus sustaining drives and helping the defense out by keeping them off the field." My opinion based on those facts was "the defenses failure to stop the Rams on 3rd down, allowing them to drive down the field and score, lost us this game". Essentially you're saying that our defense is best when they're not on the field? After yesterday's game, I would be inclined to agree with you.
  21. That's one way to spin it. Yes.
  22. FWIW, those are total tackles (solos + assists). Schobel, however, is tied with 2 other linemen for the most number of solo tackles (18) in the league.
  23. Wow. Big miss on Hochuli's crew then.
  24. Any rules experts watching? Bush fumbles, but has his facemask pulled prior to the fumble. The facemask was not called. If it was, would the Saints still lose possession?
