  1. Yep, I agree. Bortles might be a genius. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/jaguars-qb-blake-bortles-reportedly-had-wrist-surgery-which-could-affect-his-contract/amp/
  2. That’s probably true. It would be a good 2 year fit though. Play elite defense, run it down teams throats and don’t make mistakes. They are a championship contender. I think that Bortles surgery though will force them to guarantee his $19M (or whatever it is). The conspiracy theorists think that’s why he had the procedure.
  3. The team that he probably makes the most sense for actually is Jacksonville. They can run the ball and take care of it. They win with defense. The games that they lost (for the most part) were from Bortles mistakes. I always thought that Denver made sense too but their defense isn’t what it was.
  4. I’d be happy to book that bet for you. I’ll give you 2:1 and you name the number.
  5. I was going to let it go but come on man. He led 2 good offenses and 1 OC became a HC!! Don’t casually ignore that when trying to twist things. Also he started 44 of a possible 49 games. He’s missed 3 to injury in 3 years. Let’s not act like he has “injury issues.” Also, ignore the rushing stats because they don’t help twist things? Do we not count them for Russell Wilson or Cam Newton? What matters is that you move the chains on 3rd down, execute in the red zone and take care of the football. Tyrod has always taken care of the football but the red zone and 3rd down were worse this year. I didn’t verify that but it sure feels that way. That’s how they went from back-to-back top 10 DVOA & scoring offenses to pretty inept. I’ve thought that Rico was the biggest problem (as he was the biggest thing that was different). Tyrod certainly played worse than the previous years. The receivers were worse. The run game was worse. The OL was worse and the coaching was worse. They didn’t move the chains enough and didn't execute in the red zone. That’s why the offense struggled, not because of passing yards!! We all are in agreement that it is best for everyone to move on but let’s not distort the truth to alter reality.
  6. Ha ha, that’s a good point Ha ha, I’m just messing with you. Of course you wouldn’t take a pay cut. The only person here that may is @SaviorPeterman. He spends so much time in high level business meetings maybe he would trade some of that stress for a little less money.
  7. Exactly, he can get 2 years and $20M guaranteed somewhere as a bridge guy. Maybe somewhere like Arizona? One of the places that drafts a young guy that will need some time (like Allen).
  8. Ha ha, that’s true. I’m amazed sometimes at what I hear a guy say in an interview but often more amazed by the questions. It’s like when they asked LeBron yesterday about the report that he’d meet with the Warriors. What is he supposed to say “yeah, when the offseason rolls around I’m thinking about going to Golden State. They are a dominant team and think that I can make them better. I can’t wait for that.”
  9. You hit the nail on the head here too. It’s a stupid question by Carucci. “Yeah, Vic of course I’d take a pay cut. I will play for $5M a year. Call Brandon and call my agent and see if they can get that done.”
  10. The guy took less than market value and then took a pay cut the next year. He’s watching Mike Glennon and Brock Osweiler getting PAID. He doesn’t owe the Bills a thing. He shouldn’t take a pay cut.
  11. I don’t blame him. He’s been more than fair to the Bills. It’s also hilarious that people on here are mad at a guy that won’t take a pay cut. He already did once!! I know I wouldn’t take a pay cut at my job. None of us would accept a pay cut.
  12. They do, over the football department. It is like Polian and Marv. The football side side and the business side are 2 totally different entities. There is little, to, no crossover. Russ was once over both but as a CEO not as a guy making football decisions. That role is filled by the owner in most cases. It just had been filled by Littman and Russ for a while. Terry is now the guy doing that. I could draw an org chart but don’t really feel like it. You get the point
  13. Ha ha, right next to Henry Jones, London Fletcher, Nate Odoms and every other pretty good player that put on a Bills uniform.
  14. I was hoping that the UT situation would but at least another season for Schiano in Columbus. Coombs & Schiano is not ideal at all but I’m excited about Grinch. He’s a good coach and he will need to prove to be a good recruiter because they are losing a ton there.
  15. I’ve said it a zillion times here but no one ever believes me. RB’s role is virtually the same as it has always been. He was once over football ops but didn’t make any football decisions. Marv Levy was the same way. They had people that reported to them that did but had 100% autonomy to make those decisions. He was the acting owner for a period. Prior to that Littman was the acting owner. If you think about the decisions that an owner has to make that was his role. You don’t see owner’s scouting and selecting players (except Jerry Jones who was the GM and comes from a football background). The majority empower their people to do it. It was the exact same situation. Everyone assumes that there has been some big massive change. There has been in some ways. The Bills have active owners now. Terry is filling the role that Russ filled not McDermott. Russ is back to running the business side of things which is what he really did the whole time. He delegates some of that during his time as de facto owner to Wheat, Honan, Popka, Guelli, etc... Without sounding like a jerk, I’m telling the truth. I know a ton of people over there on all sides of the operation. It’s not true that Russ or Marv ever made real football decisions. The football side was owned by John Guy and Tom Modrak. Ed Abramoski was the head trainer for 37 years and is on the Wall.
  16. That’s not relevant to the conversation. He isn’t on the WOF. The question is “does Shady belong on the Wall?” When asking that he is, and should be, compared to those on there. Robert James is a good example of a guy that was here for a brief stint and played well. Richter and Hansen are guys that were never as good as Shady but were here for a while. The point is that these guys aren’t judged in a bubble. It’s the same conversation as “should _____ go into the HOF.” The resume is instantly compared to other members of the Hall.
  17. Bud has been around for 33 years and done a fine job. He’s in his 60’s and deserves to enjoy time with his family and friends. You don’t always get to pick when your time comes in the NFL and I’m glad Bud did.
  18. It needs to be considered though because it has shifted the goal posts for the WOF. If the WOF just had a few players that went to the HOF and played exclusively for he Bills I’d agree. The barrier of entry though has been lowered by the inclusion of guys like that. It changes the conversation. Robert James is probably a fair comparison. He had 5 years in a Bills uniform and was a Pro Bowler in 3 of them. He’s up there. When asking the question the candidacy of those up there is absolutely relevant. Now if you don’t think he belongs in that’s fine but the guys on the Wall matter.
  19. What did Richter do to wow you? What about Hansen?
