  1.

    Here we go again.

I think that I have been reliable and have given inside info that has all come true. You can choose to believe me or not I really don't care. I come here to have intelligent Bills conversation and I contribute information when I have it.

I am actually a little confused as to why you would have such a hard time believing that Byrd is a little bit of a diva?? He is one of our two best players and arguably my favorite player on this team. I wish that this wasn't the case. I didn't say that the guy did anything terribly wrong. I simply said that his chief concern is his career. That is not uncommon at all. Those just are not necessarily the ideal leaders.

  2. Sheppard is gone, so he is a no. Wilson, gone. Barnett, gone. Poz, is gone. Cornelius Bennet is gone...

Byrd is no, Dareus is no, Gilmore, no. Mario Williams, no.

Kyle Williams a leader by example. McKelvin is spirit leader - cheerleader. Kiko is too young and has a funny name so no one will listen. Our leader is going to have to emerge from within - Searcy? A.Williams?

    From Merriam-Websters

None of our guys are Brits, and I am pretty sure none are going to be pulling a Patton type position in the military. Bryan Scott may be quite musical but we need a defense.

That is more like it. So, I have to think that it could be coming from someone who has had a spotlight on them and has carried weight before. Bradham? Lawson? I even think Bryan Scott could be a leader in his lead by example like position he has already.

Source? I get what you've heard, but what was the source? I mean, it cannot just come from no where?

I can't really give it but I think that they have proven to be reliable. He gave me schedule leaks, Kevin Kolb two days before anyone reported it...he told me this about Byrd during last season before the franchise tag.

  3. Byrd, and Kyle

From what I have heard about Byrd he is a bit of a diva. He is more focused on his personal career and not jeopardizing it. I heard stories about how he would miss practices and such even when cleared by the doctors. His dad would plant seeds in his head that he needed MRIs when he wasn't even hurt. It was kinda like a Derrick Rose situation without missing the games.

I love the guy as a player but I am not sure at this point in his career he is the perfect leader.

  4. I didn't want a QB at 8 but Manuel was my favorite. Why is everyone all bent out of shape about this? You guys are getting all worked up over the QB evaluation given by someone that wanted to trade Mario Williams for John Skelton!! Maybe BB can take over as the GM of the 49ers and we can spin Tavaris Jackson into Patrick Willis?? You should be ecstatic with the pick.

  5. I have subscribed to this theory for a long time. You can find OL in a lot of different places. The Pats had a guy in Stephen Neal that was a college wrestler. I would much rather take a guy like Tavon Austin than a guy like Chance Warmack. It is much easier to find a guy that can play guard than it is to find an elusive guy that runs a 4.31.

LT is the most important position on the line. These spread offenses have guys getting the ball out of their hands quicker than ever and into the hands of playmakers in space. Thus it is more important to have to have those types of players.

  6. They just resigned Kelvin Hayden coming off a solid year. Brad Smith has ZERO trade value. Not with that contract. He'll be released or be a Bill.

I didn't realize that he was just resigned. $3.75m (i think thats the number) is a lot for Brad Smith but there are teams that are close that could use a versatile playmaker like him. He can return kicks, play WR and RB. I am not sure that he fits in this team anymore but there will certainly be interest. Maybe you are right and someone will wait for him to get released but there will be some interest.

  7. The trade for Hughes yesterday tells me that this team is still looking to tweak the roster. The positions that I listed in the subject line are areas of need still IMO. We have talked about a lot of the free agent names that are out there. Just wondering if any trade targets come to mind?

Brad Smith comes to mind as a guy that may have more value to someone else than the Bills and Mark Anderson possibly as well. Those are just a few that come to my head and I wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on possible trade targets?

I will throw one out: Brad Smith to Chicago for Kelvin Hayden.

  8. It feels like there are certain qualities that the Bills are seeking. Speed seems to be really important and a huge focus of the team. That seems to be one of the reasons that they let Shep go. They are going to play fast and be fast. This appears to be the plan on both sides of the ball. They are going to be aggressive and attack. At the very least the team should be a lot more fun to watch.

  9. I actually think there is a good chance FredEx and Choice don't make the team this fall. That big, fast RB from UAlbany looks good on tape.

Choice may get cut but Fred Jackson will be on the team. He is a rock solid #2 back and was leading the league in yards from scrimmage 2 years ago when he got hurt. He doesnt make THAT much to where he will be expendable for an undrafted free agent from Albany. If Spiller were to be out for a couple of weeks Freddy will be carrying the load. I still expect 10-12 touches a games for him.

  10. QB: Manuel, Kolb, TJax (Tuel PS)

    RB: Spiller, FredEx, Choice

    FB: Gaskins

WR: Stevie, Woods, Da'Rick, Graham, Goodwin, Kaufman

    TE: Chandler, Smith, Gragg, Dickerson

    OT: Glenn, Hairston, Pears, Sanders

    C: Wood, Snow

    OG: Urbik, Brown, Young,

    DE: Mario, Anderson, Carrington, Gilbert

    DT: Kyle, Dareus, Branch,

OLB: Lawson, Hughes, Dowtin, Bryan Scott, Pough

    ILB: Kiko, Bradham, Moats

CB: Gilmore, McKelvin, Brooks, Rogers, Butler,

    S: Byrd, AWilliams, Duke, Searcy

    ST: Hopkins, Powell, Sanborn

  11. They did trade down to get him. I guess you mean you wanted another trade down. Getting a 2nd round pick plus the QB they wanted makes this a good draft to me so far.

Sorry I should have clarified that. There were supposedly opportunities to move back into the 20's. I would have preferred that but again it is hindsight and I am happy with the pick.

  12. Interesting stuff and pretty predictable. Anyone that questions the Hopkins pick is clueless IMO. If he didn't think that was a need for the team he doesn't know much about this team. Anyone on here care to give our own draft grades? We understand the strengths and need of this team better.

I will give them a B+. I like Manuel but would have preferred a trade down. The Meeks pick was odd but loved the rest if the draft and UDFA.

  13. I am actually a little surprised that people think that he would be anything but euphoric. The guys is a star and a top 20 WR (ish). He did this while playing with trash (absolute trash). Teams always had to gameplan for him and no one else and he is still always open!! We actually underrate Stevie IMO. He is in the class of a Boldin, Bowe, Wallace, Jennings, Crabtree. He just hasn't had the threats around him at QB or WR.
