  1. My thoughts: The Bills have never addressed the Position with a quality talent since Jim Kelly left. The Bills QB situation is hands down one of the worst in the NFL. There is no one in this draft that is going to change that. There it is in a nutshell
  2. Won't happen. No one in this entire draft is worth trading two picks for one and the Rams have HUGE Needs. They have to get Bradford some weapons or they are going to ruin that kid. They need to address Offense in FA and Draft.
  3. I hope it is honestly. I know fans consistently B word about this but we really need to have a pure crap season where we finish 1 or 2 in the draft then address QB with a top Talent
  4. I watched Sunday and I have to say I wouldn't draft any of them except maybe in the 3rd round or later to develop a backup. I was really dissapointed. I was hoping our 'system QB' would be there but sorry I wouldn't take any of them. Time to just suck up another crap season and maybe we lose enough to get a top 2 pick or we will be out of the QB race again next year.
  5. I am afraid my NFL Career would have ended right there as I would have beat that clown's ass. That type of questioning has nothing to do with the NFL or any BS talk on the field. But I am not in the NFL nor got the opportunity to be so I digress :-)
  6. I would prefer 0 then we have to take a QB and changes would have to happen (Nix finally gone). Yeah yeah I know 'don't root for the team to lose 'blah blah blah' but its past time to have a pick high enough to dictate who you pick and QB is clearly a need. But yes, odds are they will win enough to again draft in the 6-10 range AGAIN leaving us out of reach of a top QB talent. I swear to God this team can't get out of its own way lol.
  7. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/blog/rob-rang/21766746/nfl-combine-florio-says-teams-want-to-know-if-teo-is-gay Wow.... Um not sure but isn't that illegal to even inquire about? I mean this is essentially a job interview and although I don't support the lifestyle, you just can't discriminate against the kid or ask him if he is. This could blow up HUGE if true.
  8. You know Nix is on his way out and Whaley made this pick. Nix has always said he doesn't pick one hit wonders. He likes guys that performed for at least a couple years on the big stage and Patterson definately doesn't fit that description. Now I get fans fascination with the size speed combo, but I really don't want the guy at #8. Too much risk. As another poster stated this guy dissapeared in games getting less than 3 catches in those games. Guys like him should be able to do better than that. Now if he played at Tenn for say 3 seasons and had an off season last year I can live with it. This Organization really has to hit on most picks for awhile to get this turned around, and we really can't afford a bad pick in the first round let alone at #8. But we have time. Hell Free agency hasn't happened yet and I feel LB and WR will be addressed in FA.
  9. I think LB will be addressed in FA but I agree, no one hit wonders at #8. And doesn't this guy go against Buddy Nix's draft philosophy? I thought he didn't like one hit wonders either?
  10. We need to address LB and WR in Free agency. The WR especially needs to come in and clearly separate himself from everyone else for the #2 Job AND be an actual threat that teams need to respect. Problem is as it stands right now, no QB on this roster can get him the ball down field, so it would be a wasted pick. Pray we address QB by trading back into round 1 if he is the pick
  11. For no reason at all? I know Bills fans are short sighted, they are more about hype than substance etc, but surely you can understand why UPGRADING Left tackle with a better talent is a good thing? Then you move Glenn to RT and you have bookends that are nearly unstoppable for 12 years or so. So to help correct your statement it would be thus... 'We are not going to do the obviously smart football thing and draft an upgrade to the OL in its most important position because fans love the 2nd round pick from last year...because we are the Buffalo Bills'
  12. Funny same system made Matt Castle one of the best QB's in the NFL that year. Put him in KC...
  13. Some were upset when our new HC said his systems were 80% complete. Some have an issue with having a system then drafting/ signing players to fit the system, but this is how the great teams do it. Our problem since Marchibroda left and Jim Kelly retired (esp on Offense) is we didnt' have a pure set system that wasn't behind the curve. We are bringing in a version of the KGun that has a WCO main set. This is an established system (see New Orleans) and teams find players to fit the system. Tom Brady (and yes I hate everything about the shemale...) is one of the best QB's to play the game...because he is a system QB and is in his perfect system. Payton Manning, the broncos adapted his system. Drew Brees, good QB at SD, didn't become great till he went to NO and it was the perfect system for him. I say whaley flat told you that we are picking a QB in the early 2nd and maybe move up into the first IF they find a guy that fits our new SYSTEM. And Guys and gals that is a GREAT Thing! We have a good system, find our 'system QB' and we will be light years ahead of where we have been since 96'. So I say get the system set, and hope there is a guy there that fits that system.
  14. I think the kid is going to be a pro bowler for someone sooner than later. He has proven himself at LT and his strength combined with Mobility is amazing. I think we can plug this guy in at LT and let him go like Denver did Clady a few years back. We do need upgrades at LB for sure but FA hasn't happened and we need a true #2 WR that sets himself apart and again we could address this in FA possibly. Personally at this point (and I say this with the caviat we have a ways to go before the draft and gotta see FA...) I go Lane Johnson at #8 then look at moving back into the first for a QB we think could be the kid under our coach.
  15. Now before you start screaming, stop and think. Other than QB LT may be the most important position in Football. 'But but but....we just drafted Glenn'. Yep. Move his big butt to RT, draft Johnson and you have bookend tackles for the next 12 years IF the Bills are willing to pay them and not trade them when they ask for what they are worth. I agree QB is a need but when you talk pure value in the draft none are worth the pick. Russel Wilson, Colin Caepernick, Andy Dalton, Good quality QB's that can get your team deep into the playoffs or to a Superbowl can be had in the 2nd round (or trade back up into the first). With Johnson at #8, Glenn at RT and Wood at Center we now have an OL that can keep whomever we pick upright and keep clearing holes for CJ. Side note: As for as Levitre, I say make a fair offer and if he says no let him walk. I have never and will never be a fan of paying Guards. You can find a stud in the 3rd rounds or later. If both tackles and Center are GTG then you can plug a solid guy at Guard and him become very good to great.
  16. We only have a couple clear cut needs. QB is hands down #1 and nothing on this team changes till that is addressed. I would have thought all the years from 1996 till now would show fans and the front office this, but apperantly not. WR, LB those are the other two clear cut needs. There is enough talent on here with the right systems to get a wildcard spot THIS year if those are addressed, but since Fitz still is on this roster and has a chance to compete........
  17. Incorrect! The RIGHT way is have a system then draft/ Sign players to fit the system. NE, Pitt etal (you know the guys who can win) do that and have always done that. It is past time to have clear cut systems not this 'Hybrid crap' and put players in that system that can run it. I'll say it again, NE has done it for years, has superbowls and kicks our asses repeatedly doing it.
  18. Guards are not worth that kind of money. I say let him move on and draft one.
  19. Just clarifying, but I thought early releases like the Jests players can be talked to immediately? If so, why aren't we going after a couple of them?
  20. Give T Jax the job, let him flounder and play for a high pick next year. Trade some picks this year to get more next year to be able to move into position to take a top talent. Sometimes you have to intentionally take a step back to make a leap forward. For years this 'We don't lose no matter what esp. for draft position' has us right where we are now.
  21. Doesn't sound like an Ax to grind, it sounds like a guy with Superbowl exp both as a player and a coach (Colts) and has played with a HOF QB telling it as it is. Fitz flat sucks, he is not the answer.
  22. What I have found is the Fans are what helps keep the team in the shape it is in. Look the team isn't moving period, and fans have feared that and Ralph has kept that fear over them. The only way things change is when fans leave 40+ K in empty seats and over half the luxury suites aren't filled. But it will never happen. As for as Metz, he is the best I love the guy. He played on a team that could beat the hell outta anyone at just about any given time. He played with a Hall of Fame QB so he knows what a great QB looks like and he is dead on about Fitz. Same old same old since 1996, we have never addressed the QB position with a top talent and until we do we will NEVER contend for a superbowl spot.
