  1. Thomas seems to have made the Lions' roster. Playing behind James and Hockenson however. Anyone can look solid if they never play.
  2. That could mean that you're deep... could also mean that released the wrong guys. Basically I trust our front office though... I don't think that they particularly sentimental or making decisions based on anything other than performance.
  3. The only reason why I might think twice about that is that Cardale Jones (similar in many ways to Jackson) looked pretty bad as well during the little playing time he got with the Bills... but he looked much more polished and disciplined playing for the Raiders during preseason games this year. They call certain quarterbacks "projects" at draft time every year... but it's seldom that those guys are given enough time to learn how too read defenses, run their target progressions... or learn how to get rid of the ball when the pocket starts to break down. That's what I would use the practice squad for... particularly with quarterbacks.
  4. Seems kinda funny to put another team's cuts on your PS... instead of the guys from your own training camp roster that you've been working with all spring and summer long. Maybe what we're seeing is teams reaching out for guys that they had wanted to take in the 2019 draft... or maybe tried to sign as UDFA after the draft but got outbid for that player.
  5. Yeah... Mueller was a real favorite of mine back then... I was a really big fan of Kenneth Davis as well but somebody already had that name when I joined. ?
  6. Blowing a hold for a field goal was actually the very worst thing that Bororquez did last year. Got himself hurt on the play as well... if I remember correctly.
  7. Sure... but I think that everyone is missing the point. You don't put a quarterback on the practice roster with a plan to have him play for you this year. If injuries happen and you needed another QB on the active roster, you'd probably still sign someone from the street (like we did last year with both Barkley and Anderson). If you like a young prospect well enough, it just gives you the opportunity to work with the guy for the next 12 months... get him ready for training camp next year. Mind you... to go to all that trouble, you'd have to really see something special in that young quarterback... like Gruden sees in Peterman.
  8. If I understand the rules properly, wouldn't the Bills be able to sign Colquitt right now... without waiting for the noon waiver period deadline? I think that he's got something like 10 years in the league. It's the same reason that KC was able to sign McCoy yesterday. Maybe they're trying for one of the younger options. I read that Colquitt had a surgical procedure on his knee and subsequently missed Cleveland's mini camp last spring. Based on his track record, I've got to believe that he'd be the guy they wanted if he was 100% healthy.
  9. Correct! It's been said here in a few places... Croon is apparently going on IR in the next day or two so that Coleman can be re-signed.
  10. I think that the FO and coaching staff were hoping that they might see the old Shady return during the preseason... and maybe they just didn't see that. The NFL is a cruel place for 30+ year-old running backs. There's no doubt in my mind that he could still play regularly and be a real factor for some team... if he really wants it badly enough.
  11. How did he decide? Drawing straws? Coin flip? Very strange.
  12. What does that mean? How can a WR become an interception machine?
  13. I was actually thinking about Neal and Marlowe coming along at safety... but I also think that the team likes Bush a lot more that most people on this board.
  14. That one's tempting too... he's supposed to be an animal in the running game.
  15. I'm thinking that we're more set at safety than at almost any other spot on the roster. For me... the best way to upgrade our passing game is to grab a top TE... Irv Smith would be real tempting if he's still there.
  16. Murray, Bosa, Wilkins, White, Gary, Taylor... we'll be OK.
  17. Strange... almost all of the analysis I've read on the Bills free agent signings strongly disagrees with you. I'm guessing they cobble together a pretty good O-line... even if they don't draft anyone that plays there.
  18. Wouldn't mind the Alabama O-lineman at #9... there are actually a couple of other tackles who'd be fine there as well. I'd also be OK with the Bills taking Metcalf... only with pick #40 rather than #9... and he could potentially fall that far. Then again, there always seems to be a least one team that completely ignores 2 or 3 seasons of game film... and goes with the numbers from the combine.
  19. For Christ's sake... get off Tre's case people. What he did / said doesn't mean anything. Geez!
  20. My God... what a moron. I'd be scared to death if my team was committed to that jackass long term. They're certain to regret it sometime... like if they ever fail to target him at least 10 times in a game. Then he's definitely not laughing any more.
